I envisioned a bunch of monkeys in their warehouse.

"Ok, go fetch a cushion grip 3/8" Gearwrench!"

Repeat 4 times.

I have been in one of their warehouses. You aren't off by much. I told the guy what it was and where to find it. If had had been allowed I would've just grabbed what I needed and left.

I received mine yesterday as well. 4 ratchets in 4 boxes all from the same address. Any idea why they wouldn't put them all in one box? I guess Sears just has money to burn :spit:

I would like to think they came from 4 different fulfillment centers, otherwise they have some bigger issues.

In case anyone missed it. Sears has their c3 1/2" impact for 104.99 with 10% off for craftsman club members. Mine came to about $97 with battery and charger. It ends the 5th.

Got mine yesterday as well. They look pretty good in my drawer. Also have the nice Grainger Armstrong ratchet deal in there as well. :)

Well if you notice... none of them are EXACTLY the same length!!!! :spit:

This is actually why i'm glad i ordered both the full polish and the cushion grip Gearwrenches. The cushion grip ratchets are MUCH longer, which isn't always a good thing.

Beyond that, i'm pretty sure i could get away with the 10 ratchets total i got from Sears yesterday. But, i think at this point i have around 30. Some get thrown into the junkyard bag on my way out.

Others... i just... have.

I notice he's got a HF Composite or two. I just put my 3/8" through the paces on Sunday, tore an intake manifold and valve covers off one of my spare motors in about 10 minutes, working hard. I REALLY like that ratchet. Extremely comfy, doesn't bruise the palms when you're really working it trying to get things done in a hurry.

Here is the thing. I started with the raised panel Craftsman 20 years ago and they **** so I don't count those. I then added the Harbor Freight ones which are ok. I then wanted some flex ones to help in certain repairs. I got the Gearwrench ones because I could not help myself and also I wanted the comfort handle. I also think having two of each size is easy when working if you have 2 people working on the car, or to put different sockets on each while you are working on and just swap between ratchets. Also I am ***** and cannot help myself. :bounce:

correct taurus/sable and Gm W cars

Bent handles are great for just about all spark plugs. I prefer the craftsman full polish though. You break the plug loose and then bend the handle vertical and use it as a speed ratchet. Use them with some extensions and universals and you can stand straight up and replace plugs...

Well today while on my lunch break, I noticed an open matco truck at a garage across from my work. I stopped by and purchased a Matco 88 3/8" drive kit for $18. First thing I did when I got home was instill in in my new Gearwrench bent handle/flex ratchet. I must say I'm quite disappointed! Yeah it has more teeth now, but it also has alot more drag to it. I compared it to another Gearwrench ratchet and the Gearwrench 60 tooth feels A LOT smoother. The 88 just has way too much drag on it.

However, I do feel much, much better with USA steel in my ratchet. The overall quality of the matco kit was fantastic. Everything from the main gear to the reverse lever is better machined, and looks like better steel.

Bottom line, the Gearwrench ratchets are by far the best imported ratchet on the market. I can't wait for them to release the 84 tooth models (this month)

Let us know if it frees up after using it. I was thinking the same thing when I started playing with the ones I bought. But, it was between Gearwrench and the Proto & SK I have. The Gearwrench has a lot more drag and is more rough / coarse feeling. (Not tooth count.)

If the Matco innards makes it worse then I'll just replace the guts and toss'em in my off-road bag. In the middle of a trail a strong ratchet with a lot of drag is better than a broken one that's smooth.

I used the lube that came with the kit. I used the whole tube, and have it literary pouring out of the ratchet. It's just course. If it was like a normal ratchet I would clip the spring, but with the dual tiny springs and funny bullet looking caps, I think it would screw it up if I clip the spring(s)

Maybe not a HOT deal, but if you live in the Twin Cities (MN) Acme Tools is offering 10% OFF ANYTHING IN THE STORE today. Certainly not a huge discount, but it applies to products that otherwise NEVER go on sale.

Lincoln Grease Gun, model 1142. $10 + $7.50 s/h on EBay. I thought this was a good deal for a quality product. They're made in India now but the one I ordered a few days ago arrived today and I am pleased. I did not try making a lower bid... if you do and it works, let us know!

Thanks. I offered $7.50 and it was immediately accepted. The generic one I have now leaks so if this one works better for $15, I'm happy.

I prefer the "hose" version, but that sure is cheap!

I know Advance Auto used to stock replacement hoses. I don't know that they still do or if the thread pattern is the same. I saw some at Menard's today for $3.99.

was reading to many thread, but HF having a sale on their ratchets again.

My buddy on impulse brought 3 ratchets form HF, the multi flex head 3/8 ratchet it was 14 dollars. And the composite 1/4 is 7.99 and the 3/8 is 8.99. He did not like them once he got home, so he gave it to me in exchange on helping him work on his bbq pit plus his wife made dinner.

Also they have .97 cent for clearance sockets as well.

I have been swinging by there everyday on the way to work getting one with the 20% off coupon, I am a cheap ***, lol. Got the 1/4 composite last night, 3/8 composite tonight and 1/2 composite tommorow, then I may pick up one of the multi-flex.:rocker:

If it is on the way to and form work it not a bad day to save 20% each day, but for people out of the way the 20% savings form the coupon is eaten up with a gallon of gas. At the end you are saving 4.50 on the 3 composite ratchet, almost the price of a gallon of gas. ;)
