Yep franchise is $129.99 corporate owned it the price mentioned. The franchise will not match sears/craftsman online or their other store around the corner. Thinking I might grab one from my franchise store for full price then drive over to the other and return it then buy it back. Really annoyed they act like they are two different company's the customer should not be able to tell the difference between franchise and corporate owned. If they want to play that game they should say "Johns Sears Hardware" or something similar so I know not to do business with them. This isn't the first time I got screwed over by this... Oh well....

I might have an extra 9 piece to trade for a 6 piece. It depends on if my buddy who picked it up for me wants his set or not....

I have 5 9 pieces and 8 six piecers. I need one more 9 piecers and 1 more 6 piecer. Then I woudl have 6 9 piecers and 9 6 piecers.

This is freakin silly.

Sorry guys, I was seriously being silly. I didn't mean to mislead, I actually tried two local sears and neither of them had anything...

Thanks to the OP for this deal. I stopped by two stores and was able to get one of each set. I suspect that there are enough people that watch this board that most of the country is sold out by now. One of the stores I was at still had a 9 piece set but I'm sure it is gone by now. In one store the 9 piece were just sitting on a shelf. In the other store the 6 piece was in a bin of other clearance items.

On a side note, it is fairly common for retailers to clearance a product in a store that can't sell it but keep it active in those that do. It sounds like they have been dropping the price for a while on these and they have not been moving out the door so they took a steep reduction. Lowe's as an example asks for your zip code before they give you a price. In most cases Sears seems to be the same price everywhere except for when it comes to clearance.

I just stopped by the Sears in Jackson, TN and they showed two of each set on hand at the price the OP stated. However, after about 15 minutes of a tool associate searching the store and the back, there were none to be found.

I haven't received a response to my PM in this thread, so I am looking for other options.

I wish to purchase one of each set. I will pay your cost, plus shipping, plus something for your time running around to find them and pick them up. Let me know what you want for them shipped to Minnesnowta ( Zip 55413 ).

Thanks in advance!

If you are interested in trading (at cost, we each pay shipping to the other person) I have the following items BRAND NEW:

An assortment of Dewalt reciprocating saw blades (yellow) @ $1.50 each
An assortment of Brand New Router Bits (don't have a list right now)
Nicholson Files, including some of the sets Amazon closed out last year as well as others that I have multiples of.

Let me know what you want or need...

My sears only had a few 3/4th ratchets and sockets in a pile and a 20 set for $250.

I was unable to find these at two local Sears stores. I did find some killer clearance deals on some Crossforce and 6 point wrench sets and Torx t-handles at an area "B-store" that doesn't seem to do a ton of business. Prices were up to 95% off. Not marked but they scanned for next to nothing, so it's worth a walk over to the scanner if you see something you like.

Stopped by a sears hardware today and they had a few 6 pc. sets, but they rang up at full price. Consider me interested in both sets as well if anyone has an extra set of both.

They are getting the inventory out of the mall stores, the tool stores are still normal pricing. They did the same with the swivel sockets earlier this year.

The last time I looked one of the local sears had several sets of these.

I'm curious as to what automotive applications they are useful for?

Most stuff I get in my shop is older domestic production, so before I buy metric tools I have to have a good use for them

The ones I have I use for CV axles in FWD cars.

Well, for the record, East Point Mall in Baltimore claimed to have 7 of one and 3 of the other. It's a bit of a haul for me to do during lunch but did it anyway today. Complete bust. They couldn't find ANY of them, as in NONE, unbelievable. That's well over $1k in merch before the clearance price and they have no idea where they are. I even called beforehand to verify, should have had them find them on the shelf before I wasted my time. I was going to buy all they had and offer them up here at my cost + shipping :(

Thanks for your efforts. I would have asked for a manager and said how far you drove, surely 10 sets can't have disaapeared (well they could but very unlikely) more like some Employee had them stashed or was too lazy to look. I've had that happen to me.

There is a hardware store by me that has two 9pc. sets at regular price but will price match if I had a receipt showing the clearance price.

Would anyone be willing to mail me their receipt? Their would be a 9pc. set in it for whoever would be willing, I would even pay shipping back to you.

I've got an extra 6-piece set #46306 (32mm - 42mm). I may be dreaming, but what I would like to do is to trade for some equivalent SAE 3/4"-drive Craftsman (or other USA) sockets larger than 1-1/4". I've already got 1-5/16" and 1-11/16". Anyone have others to trade to fill in some of my gaps?

Thanks,
Chris

picked up 2 of the 6pc sets. So, I have one to trade for a 9pc, I think.

Funny thing is that they had 2 of the 9pc. But, they rang up for $63.97. Weird. I may go back and check every once in a while, but if somebody is willing to wait a bit to do that trade, let me know.

Who knows?
Big mistake on my part. I didn't read the original post.
Didn't see that they were being sold for $9 bucks. So now I have one 9 piece set ($49)
and 2 6 piece sets ($45). If anyone would like them I'll sell them for cost and shipping.
I realize it's not the best price on here but it's still better than normal. I'd also give the buyer the original receipt for proof of purchase price. I bought these to pass along to help someone out on here but I didn't know they were going for less. If no one wants them I'll return them on Friday.

Send me a PM with your email address and I can email you my electronic receipt if that would work. Pass the 9pc set on to someone else here that needs it.

Wow look at the number of these on ebay, some sets well over 100.00 and then even more of the sets taken apart and being sold one pcs at a time. I got two extra sets and sold them for what I paid for them including tax at work. Rich....

Has anyone ever bought the reconditioned stuff from the online outlet store? It looks like you can get the 46305 9 piece set for $5-$7 .

http://www.searsoutlet.com/d/invent...ffmChannelDelModeInApp=SPU&deals=No&zip=32137

If you are local, I would go get them. Those sockets are guaranteed forever so you would only get hosed if one of them is missing but it would still be a good deal. If one is damaged, you can just get it replaced and one of their large stores. You might want to call ahead to make sure they are actually there.

Edit: That looks like it takes you to one of their large stores and you can buy it online for store pickup. Just buy it online and you should get an email saying it is ready for pickup. If they don't have it they won't charge you. You don't even need to go to the store.
