First post. Long time lurker.
I just sold my Craftsman 26 inch top and bottom. I have needed more space for a while. It sold much quicker than I was expecting so I am without a place to put my tools. I would like my next box to be my last box. I am not a professional and the box will live in my 2 car garage. I am wanting something in the 50 to 56 inch range and am thinking just a bottom cabinet. I am also wanting to stay with a new box. I don't really want to look at Craigslist everyday. I have looked at the offerings from strictlytoolboxes.com, SnapOn and what Sears has these days. I have also looked at what several of you have purchased via the show me your toolbox thread.
The local SnapOn guy has a KRA2422POT he would sell for about $500 off list ($4,300). This box is exactly what I want but is a little over my budget. The stuff from Sears just really isn't that appealing to me. The drawers seem to be setup wrong and they don't have enough wide drawers. Some of the offerings at strictlytoolboxes.com look good but I am always concerned with the gauge of steel and how the drawers close (I am use to the Griplatch from my Craftsman).
Given the above information and a budget of up to $3k what would you recommend? Keep in mind I would like to stick with new.
