Good looking building. I like the Light Stone and Rustic Red colors. Your wife did good. Will you be bringing in a second service from your transformer or will you run off of the house meter?

I looked at both options and have decided to upgrade the service to the house to 320 amps and feed the shop from that meter. I can't imagine needing more power than that, but if I do I can always run a new meter at that point.

Well they finished the walls, but the wind has slowed progress to a crawl. :(

Now I have a better understanding of why my Weatherman friend issues... Breaking Wind Alerts. ;)

I just might do that. ;)

Funny you picked that cartoon as the original artist and I share the same name. :D

I saw the name when you pointed out the ink jetted job information on some parts earlier in the thread.

I'm a Far Side fan and that triggered the thought of this image when your 48" door was mentioned.

I'm extremely jealous of your new building - best wishes.

So what's that concrete thing with the door on it ?
It's a Storm Shelter and I thank my fellow GJ friends for paying for half of it. :rocker: The County I live in was administering a Federal Grant that covered half the cost for new storm shelters. My cost was about $1,800. :pimpflash Even though we've not used it in the 18 months we've lived here, it keeps the wife happy knowing it's there.

It's looking great and I can't wait to see the inside after some more work.

Do many of your neighbors the same (or similar) of tornado shelters ?

I'd guess only about 10% of my neighbors have shelters. They're kind of like parachutes. If you need one and don't have one, you're too late. ;)

It's time to run power. :shocking:

I've looked at all the options and have decided to upgrade the service to the house to 320 amps and feed the shop from that meter. I can't imagine needing more power than that, but if I do I can always run a new meter at that point.

This is where we're starting, a normal 200 amp Residential Service.

A new meter base and a 200 amp disconnect box that will feed the shop.

With much coordination with our electrical provider and the electrician, this phase is complete. The next phase will be running a conduit from the disconnect box up through the attic, down the back wall of the house and underground to the shop.

Yes, it's the Utility Model.

Mueller charged $2,622 for the materials and the most of the erectors added $1 to 2K to their price to install it.
