Jeff, it isn't branded as Channelock.
It only says,

"HL116P (sideways)
BluePoint (with lines under)
Made in U.S.A."

Cool! I knew you would find out, Jeff!

Mine had the red rubber on it but I peeled it off. It was trashed. I got a can of the dipping stuff from HF and I'll post how to use that stuff on longer handles.

Not technically a "garage sale" find but thought that I might share last night's ReStore purchase -- Simpson model SW 3000 GBS commercial pressure washer "as is" for $10.

Spent an hour or so this evening going through it. Didn't find anything obvious. Hooked it up and ... ... ... it started and ran on the second pull. Literally, the second pull. The only flaw that I have been able to find is that part of the throttle lever is missing. Will be fixing that shortly.

I'm too cheap to buy things at garage sales, but I did manage to grab a vintage Dumore office chair from the curb.

It's pretty cool. It's got a little paper tag on the bottom that was intended to list the occupants of the chair and their dates of service.

I cleaned it up and it's pretty nice, just 2 tears at the front on the sides from wear over the years.

The attached is a picture of an almost identical chair I grabbed from the web. The only difference is that mine is on casters and the pic is on glides.

Cheers

Jim

Lot's of four leg chairs got scrapped when the safety guys made us go to 5 leg chairs to help prevent people leaning back to far and falling over backwards.

Sweet find! I missed one for $10 at a yard sale 2 weeks ago and I had forgotten about it until now.

Went to a garage sale yesterday, they had a few good things but prices was on the high side.

I picked up a Tap handle with the Craftman crowntop logo on he original box, 2x 4' pipe clamps, saw horse legs 4 of them, a full bottle of boiled linseed oil, and a 3/4 bottle of tap oil. All for $20

They did have a dowel pin jig that locates the bit while drilling dowel holes made by craftman with the crown top logo with the original box and instrution for $10. If anyone is interested I can swing by and pick it up and ship it for my cost plus shipping.

After closer look I think this thing was dipped in red paint.... Got all the red off....only other marking is a 1 on the side

I think he was commenting on your toolbox being able to hold all of the tool on the side due to your picture was turned around making it look like it was being held by magnet!:lol_hitti

$16.50 today on a Kennedy 620 3 drawer box, 4 & 8" C clamps, Stanley clamp vise with deco lines, small square made in USA and a New Britain 2 jaw puller. Cost me nothing in gas, as I was headed to the post office and this was on the way.

Nice find!!!

I'll pose this to the Kennedy box guys before I go new post.

I've got a Kennedy gable top fold out carry box (has pointy top) and the two chrome flip claps on each end are broken. (Look like the chrome clasps in above pic)
The center locking clasp is fine (and is a different design than the other two).

Aside from having to drill out the rivets, are the flip clasps still available from either Kennedy or from anyone these days?

Not looking to do a restore, just get the box fully functional.

TIA.

The flip latches are available, I see them at Lowes and HD and other hardware stores in a couple styles, bring one with you when you go. I'm sure Kennedy will have them too at 4x the price but you may want to check.

Today was a great stop, not to mention the first sale in a long time that i was able to get there early and actually have a shot a being the first few in the door.

All of the tools were old-ish but i couldn't find a single piece of Plomb. There was just a ton of Snap on and Cornwell instead:evil:
Everything you see on the bench was less then 100 and i have another non tool related pile.

Most of the tools are duplicates as well. 3 of the same 1/4" drive ratchet, numerous 5/16 sockets, duplicates/triplicates of the end wrenches.

Today was an estate sale for a mechanic. Full snap on 3-bay cabinet with top in the listing, full of tools they were selling. They did their research and looked up selling price of each tool from former ebay auctions, then discounted 40% off and that is what they listed it at. No negotiation unless you bought a whole lot. Here are the gems I found

$30 toolbox

They were also selling the bottom box for $40, but I missed that.

$25 vise. Big one, and useful.

$5 each on the old plates

$13 for everything else. Two Snap on punches. Set of craftsman punches,

Klein pliers marked A KNC (1967 if I am reading the code right)

M K L E I N C O R P
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0

this will be fun to play with:

Sweet. Looks like you got alot of nice stuff for your money. That top box looks to be in pretty good condition.

What is that last item that "Should be fun to play with"? Generator? :dunno: Looks interesting, especially with the hand crank and all.

Well, here are my midweek finds, and an ebay purchase. $5 got me the Stanley push drill, a bunch of spare bits, Millers Falls glass cutter, pencil lead and small box. 80 got me 95 almost new Proto sockets (two Wright sockets thrown in) If anyone is interested, let me know, as the gamble didn't quite work the way I had hoped...

Went to a sale last weekend hoping to buy the lathe listed
Got to sale right at opening and spotted the lathe asked the price and it was already sold for 450 with all the tooling. The buyer was a local tool flipper and his wife Who got there right before me. The fipper told the oldman running the sale he would buy it only with all related tooling. The wife told the oldman how she couldnt wait to learn on it. The man threw in tons of extras. The husband was real pushy telling others everything lathe related was his. I watched as he and his wife piled and walked walked away with a machinists chest full of tools and any other top name vintage Items saying to the old man It was lathe related. The sellers daughter ran the collection of money. I warned her about these people as the guy just kept taking"lathe related items". The daughter tried to put a stop to it after I told her what was going on. The oldman said he already shook hands with the guy and the stuff was for his wife to learn on. I left and went back in the afternoon being disgusted. The sellers daughter thanked me for pointing out how her dad was being taken advantage of. The man didnt know until others told him they were fippers who preyed on people. The guy got a load of tools instead of just the lathe and accessories agreed upon. I cant believe how low some people are.

Long story short there were some good items left and I didnt even try to hagle

The 127 Yard Sale is almost here. Who is going? I've got my reservations at various motels, and I am emptying every nook and cranny from my pickup, to make room. LOL.

My father and I are planning to go. We'll probably start in Crossville and go all the way to Chattanooga. I had a lot of fun last year.
