I think the mail in rebate is for non-Ace Rewards members, whereas AR members get the extra $5 discount at the till. I also bought these, they seem very good for the price.

Here's something to checkout before buying. I bought these from two different stores. The packaging was identical and they're both (unfortunatly) made in china. The two 7cr's I bought are the two piece style jaw. I've been using craftsman professional "vise-grips" for a long time and do not own any American made vise-grips but I'm thinking the one piece jaw is the older design.

My Petersen USA made 10CR and 5WR Vise-Grips both have the two piece jaw like that wrench on the right, and my Petersen USA made 7R Vise-Grips are made like the wrench on the left.

Back again for those that need them.
1/1/14 - 1/6/14.

A few other things at Ace are on sale, but I saw nothing really good in the circular.

It looks like this time they are offering the standard 7" as well as the long nose for $5.

If the dollar ever crashes I'll be able to barter with 7" vise grips :D

Looks like a read the ad wrong, the current deal (at least at my local Ace) is $5 for the 4" Vise grips. Still a decent deal but not as exciting as the previous deal.

What the hell are you gonna do with 40 vise grips?

As for me, I have a lot of relatives who are tool deficient. They make good stocking stuffers for the 5 or 6 guys in the family that we buy for (Christmas, birthdays) and can be added to other tools to make up a nice $30-$40 value gift.

Plus, it's nice to have some in each car and each tool box.

I'm keeping mine in my briefcase. I already carry a pair of 4.5" Channellocks in my pocket but you never know when you might need Vise Grips.

The last link has a 10WR in the photo but the item description shows 7WR. Does anyone know if the 10WR area this priced also?

My local Ace only have the 7R and 7WR listed as $4.99 sale. Both normally $12.99.

Many years ago I was renting an apartment to a friend. I had lost a pair of vise grips. One day he opened his hood in front of me and there were my vise grips holding the battery cable to the battery.:wtf: NICE my vise grips taking the place of a $1.00 terminal.Man was I pissed...... Gonna buy a few more pair at this price. They are very versatile.

If you buy them off the website its ~$10 shipping. Still wouldn't be a bad deal if you bought a few pairs. I guess I'll make a trip to Ace on Saturday

ETA: I looked closer & realized I can ship to store for free. Groovy Deals  OP

Local Ace or Home Depot did not have these in stock, so I ordered directly from Ace and ship to store. Really good deal. Thanks for posting it.

This will be my second pair of the 7 inchers, and the new set will do hold trunk lid open duty too.
