Not sure if there is one of these already (didnt bother checking) but if there is go ahead and delete this...

If you choose, describe what you were denied and by who (SO, Cornwell, Sears, wherever)and the reason why you were denied. Pics would be great too.

Well the tools I tried to warranty I shipped off Tuesday to snap on.
I was refused once by a mac dealer years ago.
I have an account with Mac and other dealers could learn a ton from this guy!!
Gary Blum.
Cornwell I have had nothing but outstanding service from!!
I have dealed with 2 dealers!! As soon as I pay my Mac account off I'll go over to Chris the cornwell dealer to get some goodies from him!!
Snap on I have had so many BAD deals to indulge all at once!!

You don't have to do them all at once, just pick one tool and give us the full frame by frame description of each tool that was denied warranty service and the circumstances that led to the tool to break or wear out.

Ok Merkava you are starting to really annoy me:mad::lol_hitti I said from a ratchet needing rebuilt to a phillips screwdriver in the other thread. Like UB said I'm not going to go thru each and everything. Go permatex something now:lol_hitti:lol_hitti

I don't see what the big deal is - if I had a tool that broke unexpectedly, you can bet your britches I'd do a complete and highly detailed thread about the tool and the circumstances that led to the tool breaking. I'd have high definition photographs and everything.

That is the pisser part of it, the stuff is just in need of repair. I use to order my own rebuild kits from snap on but they doubled the prices on the kits and I will not pay $10.00 to service something that should be free.

I bought a laminent roller from Lowes, it was a kobalt. Lifetime warranty and it lasted 2 sides of veneer on a small cabinent. I brought it back the next day and they said that it wasnt a lowes concern and it was a kobalt warranty claim. I didnt send it in and I just threw it away and sent a nasty letter to lowes and cobalt about it which I havent heard back form either one. Lat tool I ever buy form lowes and I wont buy much material I can buy from somewhere else either.

When dealing with lowes or home depot you have to demand a manager or you are SOL.:(

It's not unheard of for a Lifetime warranty to have to be handled through the manuf., not the end retailer.. On items that my previous employers sold that carried a Lifetime warranty, they were handled through the manuf.

If you only had it for 1 day, why would you not just return it? I imagine it came with a return policy from Lowes?

How much stock do you own in Snap-on? I swear the only person that might be more annoying to read a post from is Elroy typing in the third person.

I apologize for my vent, but I almost have to avoid reading posts by these two.
Please ignore this and post on.

Considering the excellent warranty service that Elroy recently received on his Williams "slider"

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27020

Elroy made the effort to submit this Bahco for warranty just last week

Picture003.jpg

Contacted Williams directly and spoke with Chris Lee. I understand Chris is Williams "warranty claims manager". Chris indicated that once a particular model is discontinued that the warranty stops as well.

We'll see about that as Elroy told Williams that he was not seeking an exact replacement. They were fully receptive to reving the tool upon delivery.

On a seperate note:

Elroy sincerely thanks you for the complement :headscrat:headscrat

No apology necessary. Actually I have toned down a little recently

ha ha ha that good one!!!

i did tried to get warranty for my snap on tool by my first snap on guy in 6 years ago... that guy are tough as he wont make a deal or warranty the tools that i ask for... right now i am happy with my snap on guy as he are open and talk with me about harley stuff and talk about new tools which he will make deal with me... he always talk with me than other tool truck guys because they just want sell or get payments then go...

all right let back to thread of denied claims. i has no problem with my snap on guy even the impact swivel got bind which i cant get it loose to work right so i gave it to my snap on guy. he just gave me a new one...

They wouldnt take it back  I dont know why either.

I never had a problem with sears. All the ones I have gone to would take anything back, even fully functional tools.

Some of us have, a woman living with us, and kids running around, and just want our damn tool warranty to work; after a hard days work.

Taking pics and keeping a journal is just a pain, when time is tight.

You are lucky to have the time on your hands.

I posted one, in the Snap-on is soooooooooooooooooooooooo great thread.:bounce:

I bought alot of impact sockets, many years ago. They were all brands like Campbell Hausfeld, and import Stanley, etc. They never gave me any problems, but I "upgraded" to a big Snap-on set. After just 1 month, the Snap-on impact sockets looked worse, than 10 yr. old import cheapies. The hex was rounded and the drive end was heavily worn??????The price of one Snap-on socket, would pay for a whole other set of cheap ones, that were more durable. I have Cornwell ones now, and they have proven TOUGH!

Snap-on would not warranty the sockets for wear, even after they fell off the impact gun real easy, and the hex was beyond deformed. I was told it must be my air tools had worn anvils. My air tools were all Snap-on/Blue Point, at the time, All less than a year old. I told the guy, my .99 cent apiece sockets didn't wear like this. He had no comment, but would not warranty the sockets, because they were not broken per say.

Remember, I was a regular customer at a dealership, at the time. I was not a off the street guy, looking for easy warranty. Pathetic

Do you still have those sockets?
