I hit up the flea and 1 estate sale. Aside from the lock I got a lot of tools and parts of tools. There's more not pictured just too rusty and dirty to deal with now.

2 Armstrong pliers
Swiss file set
Craftsman odds and ends, ratchet parts
Williams soft hammer, 3/4 plug, pliers, hex socket, power driver
Cornwell socket
Herbrand flex wrench
Proto adjustable

UAW Buffalo pin, still in wrapper.

Another recent find:, Vice Grip, Williams adjustable (says 8 on it but I think it cost $1?), nice little Vaughn hammer.

3bay, What is that craftsman square bar? A male to male drive adapter? What size are the vise grips? Good stuff.

Nice stuff 3bay, but don't be shy, show the rusty stuff too! Sometimes a gem is found..

:+1: I find the rust adds an element of surprise. Not sure on the brand or size till you clean it off. :spit:

Rest of pics

O very nice on the clamps. Pics of the small hammer please. Does it have any writing or stampings on it? Craftsman?

Glen - length on the Heller Pipe wrench? Interesting that both you and DIF got/posted one of those designs the same day.

JeremyBurke:
That screwdriver is a screw holder driver.
Put a straight screw on the driver, slide the sleeve forward, the driver wedges itself into the slot to hold the screw.
It is used to hold a screw when you can't reach to hold it with your fingers.

Outlaw: you posted a catalog picture of the Craftsman wrenches that have the brass handles. are they the "white whale" ones that are rare? any chance you might have an actual one or set in your collection that you can take a picture of and post it?

how does a 10 foot boat follow you home? nice find and glad your pump works for it. i don't fish but see a lot of fishing gear at some of the places i end up so let me know if you are looking for anything because i have no idea what is good or not in that field.

nice score guys and love to see these old gems find there way into a GJ member's hands.

Stewed thanks so much. I had no idea. I just knew I had to have it for its awesomeness. Thanks so much for the heads up. This thread and you experts rock. :rocker:

Wow, Flat Jeremy and Craptain, you are knocking it!

Thanks Outlaw. I only get to go out once maybe twice a month for a few hours. Not like you old pros. Three little boys under 7 take up most of my spare time. So I gotta make it count when I do get to go. It was a very good day.

On another note Craptain is one of the best screen names I have ever heard.

Another shot from my Saturday s-k 1/2 impact sockets. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1395066096.089065.jpg

I don't have any Plomb pipe wrenches and especially not one marked Plomb/Proto Tool Co.
That is a sweet keeper and convo piece, bigcaddy. The Plomb scratch-offs are nice to have, but tools marked with both in that transition year are very rare as far as I know.

It has "Calk" in the company name, dating it to before 1958.

Hard to tell without seeing the flip side, Flat, but my guess is wartime (1942-45). It looks to have a natural steel finish and it has a reinforced hanging ring. (Hard to tell from the photo if it's also a 12-point box end socket.) Prior to 1942 Diamond did not reinforce the hanging rings. Anyway, if there is NO horsehoe logo on the flip side it is WITHOUT A DOUBT, wartime. Prior to 1942 and after 1945 they were plated and they used the horseshoe logo. They dropped the horsehoe logo during the war. If it has the horseshoe logo, then 1946-1958.

Only a couple things saved on Sunday at the flea market. Saved:

Handic-brand, SWR meter (standing wave ratio) for CB radios. Brand new old stock, missing the manual but there's really nothing to it's operation , the cable to the radio goes in one side, and the antenna cable out the other, used for tuning the radio related to antenna length. $10

3/8-inch star drill, Craftsman brand, never used, $1

pair of VACO drivers, one is a TORX-type, the other is a 1/4" socket driver, with 4 sockets in the base. $2 for the pair.

Looks like it was a pretty good weekend for many. I hit a couple of sales and the flea, did okay but not stellar.

At the first sale I picked up a couple of 6" c-clamps by Williams and Jorgensen, a 12" Williams adjustable wrench, a small US made spring clamp, two Petersen vise grips and a Wexler woodworking clamp that's marked Long Island City, N.Y.

The second stop yielded more vise grips, 3 Petersens and an Irwin, (One 10 and three 7's) the single lever Petersen has the 1942 patent date on it, a magnetic bowl, two more US made spring clamps, an oiler, a nice steel box with various screws and an Oklahoma purse full of punches and chisels by Craftsman, Proto and Starrett and a General Hardware #79 automatic center punch. Sorry, no photos of the purse.

What's a oiler like that worth? I seen one at a peddler's mall, it didn't have a name or anything on it.

Whatever you're willing to pay I suppose. I didn't ask for individual pricing on the stuff I bought, just grabbed what I wanted and then haggled over a total. I just did a quick e-bay search and found two that sold in the last couple of months, one for .99 and the other for $14.99.

Here's a picture of an Oklahoma purse.

The dividers were just card stock, I've replaced them with some plastic tackle box dividers I had.

Last night I got a call from a friend who said "my rental property is being sold at auction tomorrow. Come on and help yourself from the garage"
So off I went at 8:30pm. There was a lot of trash but I scored some things. First up an aquarium filter. Just what I wanted for a project. Next was a blank Rifle stock. I have no idea what I will do with it but I had to take it. 2 regulated power supplies, 3 amp and 7 amp. pair of iron blocks for a tackle, from Madesco of Easton PA. And the igloo cooler I wheeled the stash out in. More pics in next post.

Continuing....
A clamp-on vise from Baker. No info on it yet. 3 grease guns. One Lincoln, one Plews and one unknown, but it looks like a Lubrimatic. Four power strips. A box of Nitryl gloves and a Citronella bucket candle.

There was a bunch more that I really did not want or at least have room for.

Did I mention this was free.....

Close up of small hammer no makers marks
I believe it is a union tool hammer from the childrens set from the early 1900s
