Small Jack Stands

With smaller compact cars my jack stands are many times too tall to fit. Does anyone know of compact jack stands?

Check out the jack stands sold at HF. They got some that may be compact enough for you.

When it comes to these cheap ones look at them good before using, I had a set of the harbor freight orange and white ones and they treated me well, So well I bought a second set for at home. The very first time I used them the lever that locks the height position folded completely down, since the lever is the only thing that holds the weight the car slammed down to its lowest position.

Knowing the Minimum Height of your current jack stands would be useful.

Im quite the opposite. I dont have a lift so I want some tall stands to get the vehicle up nice and high..

Yeah this sounds like an odd problem to me. Usually when I see jackstands, I'm amazed at how short they are. I drive a 1-ton truck, However.

I did a very complete review of jack stands a few years ago. I don't remember any going lower than that.

You may want to consider using low profile ramps* in conjunction with your floor jack and current stands, you could use 2 x 10's & 2 x 12's if your cautious.

What you probably need is a jack with taller lift capacity or change your jacking points.

I have been using a bottle jack as a jackstand and a couple 4x4's & a 2x4 when I work on my car with low clearance. Just thought someone made mini jack stands.

I got a mini chuckle, because just week I noticed that the max height on my 2 Ton stands is the same as the minimum height on my 6 ton stands.

Can use my stand right next to the jack but want to put a stand farther away to leave more work space and for safety (two different spots)
