Not a big horse race fan I must say we have a sweep at work but that is it for me.:beer.
Same here, not a big fan of Horse Racing, but will gladly take the day off so everyone else can enjoy them...

So you guys are like me and can pick the winner now. A Horse.![]()

I'd usually tip the winner as the last man standing with the good looker on their arm![]()

On the TV this morning they told the ladies what ever you do do not take of your shoes. Interesting when they said why.
1, Shows you can not wear heals and 2 who knows what you may walk on.![]()
So what plans for the works today 1/2 ?
Good to hear, busy as ever 1/2 cup! Get us some pictures of how things are going. Envious of your day off, sitting at work on my lunch break now.
1/2 Cup
Good start. The new posts look great waiting for their new load.
That Rose will not like being moved at this time, specially being in flower. Will be interesting to see how you manage that. I suppose your Rose would be out in flower well before Cup Day considering you are further north. They usually say they come out in flower for the Melbourne Cup.

Great progress 1/2 cup, thanks for the pictures too, I did see your post yesterday but didn't get the chance to respond.
1/2 Did you back a winner today ? If so sit back and pay some one to do all that work or like me you never gamble so back to work on it.![]()
To be honest HOTFR8 I don't even know what horse I scored in the sweep at work, I will let you know that one tomorrow.
We need pics!!! keep up the good work Mr. Full Cup!!

Looking great!!! We have lots of snow and it is not going to stop coming for about 6 months LOL!
Interesting to see how you have kept that Climbing Rose in place.
Looking good.
Winter is starting here... It was in the 30s (Fahrenheit...) this morning.

Excellent job so far!! I think the project is coming out wonderfully. We (us up here in the States) are going to be in ENVY of you and your warm weather for a bit. Me, I hate to give up my nice warm weather, we have had a good bit of it. Now your States friends will all be slogged in!!
Enjoy your project, its a great one!!
Best Regards

The carport/storage build is progressing nicely 1/2 cup.![]()
OK, keen to see how you keep that Rose in place.
Solid progress mate, columns and beams look great in-place, gives you an idea of the extra space you're going to gain.
I have been copping a fair ribbing lately, firstly from some of our members in Australia, that I have not started a thread or posted much about my shed, so today is it and secondly from some members (who shall remain nameless) who cannot understand just what it is like to live at the bottom of the world.
So this will be a taste of things to come as this is the way some perceive we do things down here.

Looking forward to sharing Mr. and Mrs. 1/2 Cups world with you all.![]()
Tell you what 1/2 Cup, your whole place is so neat, I really need to pull finger and tidy up my garage again.
I also have a serious dose of carport envy. Nicola will not let me put one up in front of the garage.
But I will keep at her.![]()
1/2 Cup
I know you spoke of it, but have you worked out a seperate woodshop yet? I know you would like to keep it out of your shop area as I do. I can say it's the best thing I have done. Everything is looking great with your latest photos. Great Job and I am standing by to cheer you on!!
Best Regards

More progress on the Carport Saturday.

The last of the main support beams in and the climbing rose was successfully transitioned to its new home.
I spent quite a bit of time checking levels and adjusting the posts to get things spot on. The house connector brackets proved challenging to say the least as a 70 year old house doesn't lend it self to change easily.
Have a great weekend..
Yes, but your place has great charecter.
I don't know if you mentioned it but are you going for a complete sealed roof or more of a pergola design?
