Shop Vac, or Garage Vac, or Car Vac?
85% of the time - my Garage Vac is used for vacuuming out the cars. 10% of the time I use it to clean under cabinets or work-benches. 5% of the time I use it to **** up some saw dust when I have to cut some wood for some reason.
Using a vacuum on the cars - I tend to pull the vac around by the hose as I work… With the taller vac’s that have small castors - that always resulted in them tipping over. They didn’t roll to well on the rougher driveways surface either. They are all just top heavy.
The solution was the RIDGID 4-gal. Wet/Dry Vacuum. WD4070
It sits low and has large rear wheels that make it very stable. This one will follow you without tipping over.
It is relatively small, stores easily out of the way - and doesn’t tip over as I drag it around by its "Tug-A-Long" hose. I got the optional noise muffler and that makes it just that much better. I also bought the optional smaller diameter hose for vacuuming the cars. {more flexible and easy to use - although I don’t see that optional kit on the Web Site}.

I just love this vac...
