I'm thinking it's an older Columbian, missing the swivel base.![]()
Jake, no swivel base, look at the notched bench up front. Nice isn't it?

I have a new in box Wilton C3,,,Wilton 5 inch machinist vise on work bench, Northern Tool six inch on welding trailer, Craftsman 3 1/2" mounted on brake rotor![]()

Knowing my luck I would finally get there and the guy would say,"Sorry just sold it an hour ago."

I'm trying to set up a trip next weekend to pick this little guy up... 850 miles...one way

You're right, I missed that.
I don't see any mounting holes to bolt it to the bench, so I'm thinking this is one of the old older vises that use the single bolt through the bench to mount it.
Tell your friend to remember to pick up that pipe jaw sitting behind the vise or it will get lost.

That thing's a beast. Are you sure it wouldn't be easier to ship it ?![]()

That IS odd, and if so, with the notch, it ain't swiveling. A certain Old guy needs that one!![]()

Tie tack material ... 600.00. thought it was high until I seen what was selling on Ebay.
I have issues. I have 5-6" vises in my shop as we speak yet i have a huge b#ner for that one....

Oldh , nice right? I'm jonesing for that one myself.

Thank you for keeping this, soon to be, Septuagenarian in your kind thoughts...
I would feed and house that wee beastie...
But...
It's on the "Left" coast, in California...and then I'd have the same problem, I had with BigCaddy's 5198....
I'll bet that dude has a whacking big "Wingnut" on the bottom...
But being a "Big Non-Swivelin' B@#tard", it IS at the top of the Food Chain!!!![]()

B100: do you have one of the smaller Desmond vises with that interesting handle? i would love a vise with that styling.
.
Drives: just find somebody with a tig welder or a spool gun for their mig and it should be no problem. You could just weld on flanges and bolt it to your plate top as well. Shoot me a PM and we can discuss options.
ALL: so i started moving parts over to my neighbors today to build this welding bench that i'm going to make hitch mounts for vises and found out most all my steel i was going to use as the supports is stainless and he doesn't know how to weld stainless. any thoughts or should i just go buy some steel or trade this in. how valuable is 1/8 inch stainless steel tubing compared to regular steel? thanks guys
B100---The Stevens 420 lb. ratchet at $3893.43 is a steal when you compare it to a Wilton 800S, 238 lbs. at $4530.34.
