That's crazy!! If u go back a page I just scored the same one for $130 on craigslist

And what is so special about the "new" pliers?

Sent from my iPhone 5s using Tapatalk

Stamped with logo and USA, they use to be all etched. They've also done away with "power edge".

Got a milwaukee heated jacket kit. For $75. I'm almost as excited about the m12 battery and charger. Gives me a reason to buy into the m12 line now.

Needed a saws all so I picked this set up off the Mac truck today. Came with quite a bit of stuff so I'm happy. And now I can buy 12v dewalt stuff, I like a few of their offerings. So we'll see. Maybe it'll compliment my 20V IR cordless set nicely for smaller stuff

I saw those at HD yesterday, had a bunch of XL and 2X for $75. Wish they had a medium!

FYI the sizes are weird. My medium was too big.. washed it, and it got really short/tight around the waist but loose in the chest still. So, it constantly rides up and is loose on me where the heaters are, which is the worst..

I still love the thing though.. I got the M18 USB power adapter (has an output that will connect to the hoodie) and put a small M18 batter in and that thing is really warm. Very nice for working outside in the cold

I dunno, maybe my belly isn't big enough. I'm about 6', 150lbs

A couple of weeks ago I won a Unimat DB/SL series hobby metal lathe/mill for $225 at auction. These light duty hobby units were produced for decades without change and have a huge accessory support industry. With the optional vertical mast, you can move the motor and spindle assembly into a vertical position to turn it into a small mill.

When I picked it up, it was rusty, nasty, and incomplete. A few purchases online, a complete teardown and cleaning, freshly lubricated bearings and surfaces and it now runs pretty decently. I didn't like the small wooden platform it was bolted to which made it very tippy so I used a white cutting board that I cut down to fit inside a storage tub and mounted the unit to that. I also put in a sheet metal top so that I can use magnetic mount surface gauges to measure movement for more accuracy.

With the power feed attachment on the front, this is about $450 in value now. I'm pleased with the results. It should be great for my model work.

Filled in the gaps of the two 11 piece Wrightgrip sets.

edit: I forgot to mention this was my first HJE order. I did it over the phone and they were extremely helpful, fast, and the best price I found.

You have to post a review on the Power Probe 4. I have been considering one and I am torn between the 4 and hook. If you don't mind how much did it set you back? Kinda interested in what the truck guys will be selling them for. My Snap On guy cuts me deals all the time

If you don't mind my asking, what did that cost you?

$920 after tax

How can you justify spending that much on that little?

picked up some cheap used tool lots from a local auction... some no name stuff, older stanley screwdrivers, most of them still in useable condition

021215a_zps26241043.jpg

couple gems in the boxes... some SK locking pliers and a proto 5249 3/8" ratchet

021215b_zps68c1baf9.jpg

then i stopped at menards since it was on the way to HF and picked up the cheapo wrenches for some "break it and throw it away" tools (and i'm slightly impressed with the holder... when the wrenches break i'll reuse it) as well as the stubby screwdrivers... plus i went to HF for gloves

I'll play along...

Some of the last tools I've bought and a few I've made....

Aircat 1/2" Impact

<a href="http://s648.photobucket.com/user/freudianfloyd/media/20141008_205059_zps5025fcaa.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu201/freudianfloyd/20141008_205059_zps5025fcaa.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20141008_205059_zps5025fcaa.jpg"/></a>

Aircat 3/8" Air Ratchet

A work stand I made from some scraps of 80/20 at work. It's tall enough to clear my truck and the base is wide enough to fix around the tires.

What model Benchmade is that, it looks badass

It's a custom ordered mini griptillian. All I did was build it on the benchmade website. Loaded a pdf/jpg image of my unit insignia and put my name on the other side. They have since changed the website to build a knife, and it looks much easier. Before, you had to take a guess on what it would look like.

If you do buy it, I recommend getting the higher grade steel. Good luck.

Got these in the mail today. Taking advantage of the SO student program a little. The sockets are nice but I think I will probably be buying SK from here on out. Cheaper and they are just as nice.

Cool! Does your discount work with Williams as well?

I bought some 3/8" drive socket sets when I had the discount. Ended up selling them (for more than I paid) and replaced them with USA Williams sockets. The 1/4" set I bought even had a Snap-On socket on the rail.

I have been buying a lot more SK lately, and am loving the quality (although I have 3 sockets now that the broaching is off center, but they still work).

I found out recently from my buddy going through the same diesel program I did, that the local SO Industrial rep will discount Williams and a ton of the Snap-On stuff that is no longer on the SEP site.
Wish I would've known while I had the SEP discount but was buying all of my Williams stuff!

Get the hook, well worth the extra coin if you know how to use the features.
