i scored a metal shear a few weeks ago, but hadnt been able to put it to use.

i've been searching for suitable material to build a stand for it, and hadnt had any luck....
yesterday i found a HD trailer jack at work that was being scrapped, torched off the bent pieces, and brought it home.

scrounged in my scrap pile and found some more pieces....
dug through my spray bombs and found the "appropriate" color.. :rocker:

This is the cabinet I built to hold some of my tools. It is 48" tall, 92" wide, and 28" deep. I am thinking about putting some pegboard on the inside of the doors to hold light stuff like carpenter squares, hand saws, and small hardware.

I am NOT a cabinet maker (yet) and I was proud of myself because the doors open and close properly and do not rub or squeak anywhere. I don't like the gap where the doors meet, so I may have to dream up some kind of trim or something to close up this gap.

Nice job,can never have too much storage space

Today I got a good bit done actually. My brother brought him '03 Ram over this morning and we changed the upper control arm and lower ball joint. It wasn't a horrible job, but the lower ball joint didn't want to separate from the spindle and took some extra coercion. Everything went back together easy enough. I did get to show off my 3/8" and 1/2" Fuel Impacts though.

Wife took my to lunch and icecream for father's day to miss the crowds tomorrow. Then I came home to change the oil in my F-150 and then changed the oil, oil filter, air filter and fuel filter on my John Deere 325. Then hosed off the oil that dropped down from the oil filter change. Got it put away right before the storm hit. Tomorrow I gotta change the oil in the wife's Kia.

Disassembled some small school woodshop lockers. Cut the door frames apart to reconfigure them. Started welding them back together in a more( to me) usable format.

Worked this morning. Milked a general maintenance on a Deere 244J loader while making double time. Now at home, sitting at the garage bar taking a little break from making a riser for my Kennedy 520.

Worked on the Triumph a bit more. Not much paint left on the body tub. Unfortunately the rear valance has been hit and badly repaired. It also has rust on the bottom and I think while I could save it, it would take 20+ hours versus a replacement panel that can be welded in for $250. My time versus money meter says replace it. Gives me a chance to use spot weld cutters for the first time.

Rebuilt a Craftsman 17.5 hp riding tractor. It had been slowly rusting away in the woods for the past two years. Cleaned the carb, replaced the ignition swith and solenoid, put on new tires, cleaned/lubed everything and I mowed my little acre in Georgia tonight. I also had time to hunt down all the parts I need to build the "bitsa" Honda 750. Overall a pretty good day!

I have say this is very nice morning. I'm on the 9am late start shift this week. On those weeks I like start on my home projects in the morning. Decided today was a good day to take the H out for ride to warm it up and drop oil. Went for a nice 1/2 hour 5th gear cruise around the country side. Backed her in the shop and dropped the oil. Going to let it drip until I get home tonight. Just a simple fun morning playing with the tractor. A beer would be good, but not before work.

She's a beauty! What have you named her? Sooner; my avatar is almost 12 and slowing down a LOT. Someday hopefully far off i'll get a chocolate Lab and I'll name him/her Bosco, Hershey or Charlie Brown or some such. I

Give her lots of love and congrats

The wife is Irish so she said she wanted an irish name...Her name is Harp (like the beer). My choice of Monkey was vetoed. And she is kinda mellow and knows already that I am the alpha. Took just one day to crate and potty train her. She is a smart lil thing.

A home brew antenna that has exceptional gain and brings in stations that built in antennas on most receivers can only dream of. if you are in an area with strong reception less of a need, but I know guys that before were lucky to get one or two stations and those would be iffy, and with a J-pole were getting collage stations (with minuscule power...) and clarity on the original stations as well as many they never knew were there...

Got two more sheets of OSB up. Not have the bottom 2 feet left on the wall.

Concrete guys also came by today to cut the slab and backfill gravel in the driveway.

Just started using my garage/metalworking shop after a long period of clearing it out.

Made up and assembled the metal parts for two double screw Moxon bench top vises.

Drilled and tapped the hand wheels and cut the sections of ACME threaded rod.

Took apart my snowmobile engine. Awaiting on a new crank for it. Swept up, and organized my hardware bins. Buddy came by with a anti freeze leak on his truck. Replaced heater hoses then drank a few beers.

Started a new position @ work this weak and it has really cut into my shop time in the evenings. I haven't gotten a damn thing done this week other than last night installed my new brake controller in my truck and put my old one in my son's truck.
