It's been too long since I got to cross an item off my list of projects.

Kinda forgot what it felt like.

This ones done, and ready to move into my daughter's apartment.

Thanks Nine,

Tool,

I haven't sealed it yet. I have some rust stains on it that I need to hit with the scaler again.

Do you have a product to recommend?

Here's the thing. Most white marble has iron deposits in it that will oxidize into rust stains (enhanced by moisture left from a sweaty glass or bottle). Any decent penetrating stone sealer will help to reduce the oxidation. My top choice would be Senguard, but it's reeaaallly expensive. If you guys have a tilesetter you work with maybe he could let you use some of his. Or just pick up a penetrating sealer at HD.

I always have our slab/stone guys seal everything, but I really haven't paid too much attention to what product they use. Thanks for the input.

My neighbor has a laser cutter, and I had him cut out my logo in 1/8" ply.
It's about 16" long. He also cut out a few smaller ones too.

Thanks all,

I'd probably never have had a logo if I hadn't have married a graphic designer/art director.

Otherwise, I'd have to sell a lot more tables to be able to afford her.

:thumbup:to the wife!

But, just to mess with her a little, I made some "improvements"

Or should I call them Photoshop hacks?

Branding is EVERYTHING!!

Logo looks great Riven!!

Tampa wanted to brand me, but I didn't fall for it. :lol_hitti

Love the table and the logos, I actually like the third one, but I also like Dali.

I actually need to come up with a logo for my new company, it seems so damn simple that I am making it complex.

Blue Triangle Corporation

Well some sort of triangle that is blue, but…………….:dunno:

Strouty,

I programed my inner consciousness to elaborate on the devising of a simple, yet iconic representation of Blue Triangle corporation. Boiling down the essence of what it means to be Strouty.

I then employed my vast Photoshop skills and devoted countless hours of my time to delivery to you a logo worthy of your company.

And, because you're a GJ legend, consider it Pro Bono.

Much appreciated, but between Tampa's legal team and the Muppets, I may have some trouble using that one.

OK, my dreams of becoming a marketing designer are dashed.

Guess I better stick to what I know how to do.

Maybe get this thread back on track with a new build.

And to get back on track, a preview of a project that I just brought home.

We did a demo of a Subway, and the prep area cabinets have some potential for a great built in workbench.

Including one that is just over 7' long.

And this one that will make a nice seating area

I don't like that flat panels across the top, so I'm thinking about cutting in drawers or something. Then adding some nice tops and putting them to work.

Riv: sorry i haven't made "1" post on your thread yet. I've stopped in now and again to see what amazing thing you are working on, but i haven't had time to read the almost 800 posts. so i'll be damned i'm going to post and try to keep up with the new stuff. ok?

i saw a picture of you or your friend jumping off a rope swing probably in the north end of Lake Wa and wish that was me instead of me digging up my backyard with a pick on those 100 degree days. man that looked like fun.

work hard play hard and i'll check in more often and see what you are up to because this thread seems to always be on top in the Fabrication section so easy to find.

cheers

Drives,

Thanks for taking the time to post.
Those hot days on Lake Washington were great! That swing is by the old Naval Base that they've turned into a park. Now that it's back to grey and rain, I'm missing the hot weather that I was complaining about.
Am I sounding like a true Seattle-ite?

Tool,

My constant reclaiming of materials from work has started some domestic problems. Wife said we were starting to look a little too much like Sanford & Son.

This morning was 1 load of metal to recycling, 2 loads of broken concrete to recycling, and 1 load of just trash to the transfer station.

This afternoon, we rented a 15' UHaul, and moved my daughter's worldy possessions to her new apartment.

Nothing like a nice relaxing Saturday:thumbup:

After days and days of digging, leveling, and hauling dirt, I finally got to start setting brick on my patio today.

After the removal of the slab, I had to also remove a lot of unsuitable material and bring in some 5/8" minus crushed rock.

I have hand loaded/un-loaded 16 truck loads of import/export.

I still have approx. 2 yds of sand left to haul in.

Today I started with some of the border bricks, and a large radius around an existing rock and a 25 year old Azalea tree.

I made up a rough tool to pivot around a stake to help with the radius.

And used the new HF brick and tile saw to cut the brick were necessary.

Not much to look at yet, but it's a start.
