Wow...Glad I ran across this. I've been getting ready to pull the trigger on several Sunex Impact sets and have been shopping for the last week or so. Now I will buy the bigger master sets and pay a lot less than I was going to for the smaller ones in the end.

Can anyone who has received their product please give me accurate dimensions of the cases? I will cut the lids of these and use the bottom as an in the drawer organizer. Plenty of room in my top drawer as it is 49" x 27" but some major rearranging is in order.

I am going to order the 2569 for sure and either the 3580 or the 3342.

BTW...Amazon definitely seems to have the best deals on several of these sets.

SOLD/SHIPPED BY AMAZON
2569 - $149.23 (free shipping) -$100 rebate
3342 - $69.99 (free shipping -$25 rebate

SOLD BY AMAZON/CPO OUTLETS
3580 - $212.93 (free shipping) -$100 rebate

3580 is 15"x18"x3.75"
2569 is 13.25"x17"x2.75"
You'll lose some height if you cut the tops off obviously.

Summit Racing has the 3580 set for $207 with free shipping. I've been waiting to find this set for under $200 to pull the trigger.

Thanks for getting back to me on the dimensions. I really appreciate it. I think they are going to fit nicely.

Has anyone received their rebate(s) yet?
The rebate form says to allow 6 to 8 weeks for processing. My experience with dozens of rebates (not tools but computer stuff) is that they are never early, and quite often a week or two beyond the specified range.

I believe mine were $199 from CPO... and that was before the 15% off. Might still be $199 though.

So far I really like them. Haven't given them too much of a workout yet, but they will soon. I can confirm that they are all dual marked too.

Now just to decide if I want to sell my 95pc US Craftsman set or not :lol_hitti

I got my sets. My 15mm deep was messed up during manufacturing and now I have to pay to ship it back is what they're telling me. That kind of pisses me off.

You should not have to pay for having the replacement sent out, but expecting the purchaser to provide the return of the one they want exchanged is not unreasonable.

That metric set is $38 after the rebate right now. The fact that someone will make fuss over $5 postage to return a defective socket is just proof some people will fuss about anything, no matter how petty it is.

I was hoping I'd get my rebate by now. Only 6 weeks or so left until I can order another, getting the first rebate would be the determining factor as to whether I purchase a second set or not.

Two more weeks until I hit the end of their self-allotted processing time, so let's see what happens.

I had thought about trying to do what you've described -- buy one of the master sets, and wait for the rebate card to buy one of the other master sets. Instead of rolling the dice on getting the rebate in time, I just paid up front to buy all three master sets and lock in the deal.

As they say, "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush."

My 3580 came today. Big box, almost zero packing, opened the case and all but 7 pieces were rolling loose.

Excellent looking sockets though. If the case is really that bad, I may need to find another storage method.

When the rebates were announced I immediately jumped on the 1/2" MM and SAE sets because I'm doing several brake and suspension projects this summer and I had immediate use for them. I didn't buy the 3/8" set right away because I don't have a 3/8" impact yet.

After a couple of days I decided to go ahead with the 3/8" set because I knew I'd need it sooner or later. I can honestly say that aside from needing the 1/2" sets for suspension work, the 3/8" set was really the smarter purchase. I really use the 3/8" set a lot, even though I still don't have the 3/8" impact. The swivels made all the difference for me. I don't know how I ever got by working on cars without a full set of 3/8" swivels. They just make life so much easier.

My opinion? Go for it. You'll never regret buying a good tool at a good price if you can swing the payment.

Wow! That's pretty crazy.

I was just about to pull the trigger on a set of 3/8 metric swivel impacts.

Let's do the math for the 3580 set here:

$205.50 base price minus $100 (rebate), minus the $70.00 I would have spent on the swivels anyways, means that I'm getting a set of SAE swivels, shallows, deeps, and metric shallows and deeps for only $35.50. Sounds pretty good to me.

I was just about to buy the 10-piece #3657 for $77.

I guess I should buy the #3580 for $205 - $100 = $105.
I get a lot more for $25, right?

Any hitch with the VISA refund card?
Expiration date games?
Just use it to get gas, right?

Has anyone received their rebate yet? I put mine in the mail like a week after this was announced and still nothing.

Just waiting to make sure all is good before I probably order the 1/2 master sets. I got the 3/8 set but am kind of wanting the 1/2 ones now....even though I already have 1/2 metric impacts.

This week I will try and search all three socket sets and post where each one is currently listed for the cheapest price. If anyone has any coupon codes at a place that you think will work send them to me and I will verify they work on these and post accordingly. Unless someone has already done this, I didn't see any mention of it.

Well I haven't seen any bad online reviews for sunex sockets.

Two local mechanics, repairmen just told me they are Harbor Freight comparison and the craftsman I have and was going to get rid of are better.

And it takes a month to get a replacement under warranty.

Is this true?

I am a mechanic that makes my living useing tools. I use them hard and do not have time for **** tools. I have always used snap on tools for most of the 20 plus years I have been doing this. That being said, about 7 years ago I bought some sunex sockets. I can't speed highly enough about them. They are way better that craftsman. As far as warranty goes, I couldn't tell you, I have never broke any.

I own...
1/2 Dr deep metric impact socket set from 10mm to 38mm?
3/8 drive deep and shollow impact socket set. 10-19mm??
3/8 drive impact swivel sockets 10-19mm
Ford drive shaft socket.
All very well used, some are starting to wear out.
I had no problem pulling the trigger on all 3 super sets for home. It's a deal that can't be beat and the quality is right up there with snap on.

On a side note all 3 sets came today! So awesome!

I can't see quality being an issue. I've never seen a cro-moly impact socket that disappointed me. I've been unimpressed with some CR-V ones, but you only find those among the cheapest of the cheap.

As for warranty, my local bumper to bumper auto parts store carries sunex. I've never had a warranty issue, they just hand a new one over the counter. I haven't actually broken a standard socket, but some sunex hex or torx bits I have (hex and torx bits live a tough life anyway, and a breakage here or there is just to be expected, at least in the smaller sizes)

I picked up the 3/8 master set and can tell you it is nicer than my tekton impacts. Just the finish and fell of them is much nicer.

But I also haven't had any issues with the tektons either. But the do feel a bit cheaper imo. But use wise they have been perfectly fine

Ok. Just checking. Thanks.

I think it is odd they say the 3/8 set includes the most popular. Since when are torx more popular than hex?

Does anyone know of any coupons for qualitytoolsforless.com? I think I'm going to get the 2569 137.99 and 2568 176.99 sets from them. Do they come with the cases from this site? They aren't mentioned in the description nor are they pictured. Hoping that's not why they are cheaper.

Any place cheaper than amazon for the 3590? 205.50 shipped there. Any coupons?

So it this the current best route price wise? Thanks!

*Edit* This keeps getting better, I just got a $25 off coupon on ebay so Artic tools at 206.49 is now the cheapest at 181.49 shipped. Then quality tools has 2569 137.99 and 2568 for 176.99 shipped. 496.47 total with 3 100 dollar visa cards back making it 196.47. I think I'm going to have to do it. Please tell me if I'm missing something.
