If it is indeed Amazon's screw-up, then Amazon should ship the proper item.

That won't happen with a 3rd party seller purchase. I have had this kind of stuff happen in the past from 3rd party sellers, hopefully you guys don't get burnt.

I had a similar problem once with something else. The vendor claimed amazon was at fault listing the wrong photos.

Was a huge hassle. Had to do the Amazon a to Z guarantee after vendor told me to f off.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

Photos, listing description, everything indicates we'll get a sander as part of a kit. No question that if we don't Amazon will rectify (refund), hopefully without much trouble.

I'm hoping 'Hector' is wrong and a full kit will still be shipped-- hard to believe they'd sell a few sheets of sandpaper for $55, much less twice in a month (people must have screamed ****** murder the last time if so?)

I am not worried about it... only cost $55 and between the Amazon A-Z and my CC, I am covered. But even the follow up e-mail from Autoplicity thanked me for the purchase of a "Chicago Pneumatic CP7200S Mini Random Orbital Sander Kit". So we shall see how this plays out.

Glad I didn't order.... my spidermen sense told me something was fishy especially when it involves a third party seller on amazon....its worst then ebay...they hid behind Amazon's name...some of them are shady as hell....
I only choose Amazon as the seller when I shop Amazon....safer bet.

And if its Amazon's fault....just maybe they might compensate???
but if its the seller's fault....then it might not be that pretty..

I did some googling before ordering and they seem to have a good reputation on various forums. Hopefully they will do right. I mean it's not like it was one of those listings where the description doesn't match the title and wasn't cheap enough that it was an obvious **** up.

Still though... how could sending a 3" pad I paid $55 for be overlooked considering it isn't even close to what is listed? It's not like the part numbers or close or they sent the sander instead of the kit, the price is way off and the item is way off.

Like the $25 SK tool box I just ordered? Also sold by Autoplicity

That's enough for me.

I'm going to see if I can cancel the order.

Also see the horrible reviews of the company:

Hello,

We apologize for the inconvenience our company has caused you. Please understand that we are a drop ship company, meaning we rely on our distribution warehouses to contact with the manufacture regarding requests. Trust me when I saw we are at the manufactures mercy to get updates, some take weeks. We sincerely do apologize.

I wonder how they drop ship a discontinued SK tool box

Well...this blows! Just cancelled my order. We'll see if it 'already shipped' and can't be cancelled.

Just emailed via Amazon to cancel; my item is also listed as 'preparing for shipment' so we'll see if they pull out in time. I also got the followup email thanking me for the purchase of a CP7200S sanding kit, so they really don't have any leg to stand on if they refuse a refund.

Weird thing is that backing pad is listed for $35-$45 at some places, including Amazon-- can't believe CP wants that much!

I see how these kind of companies can work.

They need not have any physical location.

No warehouses.

No stock.

Just electronic ordering and an outsourced customer service boiler room somewhere.

Slow and mixed up deliveries, bad customer service and inaccurate listings result.

Great business model. Makes them money.

Did you hit the "Request Cancellation" button on the order details page in your Amazon account?

So, besides contacting the company every way I knew how, and requesting a cancellation by them, using the Amazon "contact seller" method, I just called Amazon.

Getting them is a little difficult. They actually call you.

After a half hour on the phone, I got 2 orders straightened out.

Amazon is getting the company to cancel the original order. They are having the same trouble as I did, with contacting them, so it may take a little while.

They had me order the same item from them direct, and gave me a credit, making the price the same. All the help came from a nice lady or girl from Jamaica, mon!

So all is well. Even got a small credit for the second shock arriving a day later than the first one, and they're shipping it overnight, no extra charge.

So you are getting a CP7200s from Amazon for the Autoplicity price?

Yes!

From my order page:

Preparing for Shipment
Delivery estimate: We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date.
Track package
Chicago Pneumatic CP7200S Mini Random Orbital Sander Kit
Sold by: Amazon.com LLC
$55.11

I had to order it for the full price, while I was talking to the lady on the phone. She then gave me a one time adjustment.

Another way to try to get satisfaction is to call the company.

Note that you will not get what you want from the first person you talk to. They will offer that you return the item for a full refund, and then you order the item for the full $127 price.

You must escalate the claim to management. They probably won't be in, and when transferred to their voicemail, you will be disconnected, as I was.

It will help to have a screen capture, of you order and their page from Amazon, showing the complete description and all part numbers. A copy of the email congratulating you on your order might also be fun.

Try asking for a Jasmin Garcia.

Did you wait to receive the original order before calling or did you call Amazon and tell them what you expect to happen?
I want to call amazon and do the same as you and have them send me the sander at the discounted price but don't know if I should wait until the package comes.

Looks like I am getting a very light box (1lb per the tracking info) from "INTEGRATED SUPPLY NETWORK INC" in GA via UPS and assume it is a $55 sanding pad. I plan to file an immediate claim with Amazon after it gets delivered tomorrow and let them deal with it. Oh well...

Wow, I placed my order days before everyone here and I get this email.

Please log in to your Amazon account and submit a return request. We are out of stock on the sander and there is not time frame for a restock. We can only issue a full refund at this time. We will get you a label and will issue credit as soon as part is on its way back to us. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

It says they have 36 in stock on their website

If they never shipped anything, then why the return label?

If it were me, I would first try contacting the company. I would do it before it shipped, if at all possible. Try to get management to make it right by sending the correct item. They are a mess, and the initial contact people you get answering the phone are NOT inclined to make you whole. I don't know if management is either, but it is worth a try.

The other alternative is to wait until the shipment arrives and then complain.

Frankly, I don't expect much from them. I was never even able to get a manager on the phone. And I'm not sure if they are just inept, or actually scamming people.

Then, if they won't play ball, I would call Amazon and get their help. After a replacement is ordered (If they will do it), then quickly call the company and get the original order cancelled.

I don't think they are trying to scam people, they just have a ****** "business model". They are drop shippers. They have over 100,000 listings on Amazon. Whatever info they have on that sander disagrees with what is posted on Amazon. They need to take that listing off.

They have a 4.2 star rating with thousands of reviews. IMO that's about right for a drop shipper.

Personally I think drop shipping should either be banned on Amazon or it should state in their listing what they are doing.

I agree that their customer service is garbage. That's what happens when you have a couple people trying to manager thousands of orders from a broom closet.

Drop shippers?? Please explain

You order an item from Autoplicity, then Autoplicity orders the item either directly from the manufacturer or some other distributor and has it sent to you.

Meaning Autoplicity has ZERO inventory, they're basically just making a little profit by routing your order

They shipped me a 3" pad. I made this thread and ordered it a few days before making this thread.

Same here. Hope returning it isn't a pain. Wish I could get the actual item for the $55 I paid.

Now I don't know what to think. I just got a shipping confirmation for the SK box. No tracking number...

Hello xxxxxxxx,
"SK 86106 26-Inch Wide by..." has shipped.

Details

Order #102-5300057-xxxxxx

Estimated delivery date:
Tuesday, September 8, 2015 -
Wednesday, September 16, 2015

Why tracking information may not be available?

Your Orders

Shipped to:
xxxxxxx
xxxxxxx

Total Before Tax:
Shipment Total:
$25.26
$25.26

I'd assume that (if it really is shipped and it really is an SK tool chest) since it's a large item, it won't be coming FedEx, UPS, or USPS, hence no tracking.

I guess all I can do is wait now and see what arrives. If it does come UPS, i'll get a notification from MyUPS where I can check the shipping weight.
