I wasn't here when this thread started and I'm glad it got bumped.

I signed on about 6 weeks ago and since then I've learned a lot, got some neat ideas and found out these guys can fix anything but the crack of dawn and a broken heart!

Thanks for a great and friendly site!

Tim

I came across the link to thread when I started to go through "Shopnuts" build thread right back in 2006 I think it was.

Thanks to Ryan and all that made this possible and maintaining this website. Me and my 10 years old daughter were researching some tools as we came up on this site. She and I collect tools. Lol Its been my favorite website ever since and recommended it to my ToolAholic friends. I have learned so much from talented members here that I cant say. Made me a very wise tool buyer. THANKS GUYS

Bunch of **** ups. BUT - they're right, thanks very much for what you guys do. And thanks to the many contributors that have personally helped me and that have made this site what it is.

:lol_hitti My thought too:lol:

This is a great site though, and the way it is ran tells a lot about Ryan and the mods. I see this site as one of the best on the 'net. I belong to other sites, and have moderated a few sites, and everyone seemed to have their own set of problems. Another popular site I was a mod on, I gave it up because of the way it was ran. Too much ******** going on behind the scenes, and the mods had their favorite members, and some new ones would get banned right off the get go for hardly anything. Garage Journal seems to treat everyone fairly, and if you get a warning, or get banned, it is no ones fault but your own. And it takes quite a bit to get banned from here. We also have some very great members, that all seem to give the shirt off of their back to help others out if need be. Not too many other sites have that sort of membership. I've made some great friends on here, that will be friends for the rest of my life. I've made and met more friends on here than I have had in probably most of my life.

So yes.....a HUGE thanks to Ryan and the Moderators for making this site what it is. Back when I joined up in '05, from an invite from Lucky Devil, I never thought that 10 years later the site would still be here, nor that I would still be a member. But every year, the site just seems to get better. others have tried to copy this site, but for most, it never panned out. There is only one Garage related site in my book, and that is Garage Journal. A place to hang out, talk with friends, show off what you have, and a place to get an answer to almost any question that pops up. I've been in a bind before, had a question, posted it on here, and usually have an answer within 30 minutes. That says a lot.

So again......Thanks Ryan, and Thanks Moderators. Keep up the good work:thumbup::beer:

This forum is really is an informative place and I am sure it takes quite a bit of work to keep everything running smoothly. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone involved for making this such a nice place to visit, make comments and lend a helping hand at times.

I've only been a member for a very short time, but I've gained a lot of very useful information just from lurking. I appreciate the site owners, modes, and users who are willing to share their experiences.

Thanks all!

Sub, Kevin's 25000 post was "count me in" on the canton swap meet thread that ratdoggy has.

And this is the best site. Thanks to Ryan and all others that keep it going.

I cant even begin to tell you just how much I've learned from being here these last 4 1/2 years. That also goes for the amount of "stuff" that has found it's way into my garage, stuff like new & vintage roll aways (13), drill presses (5), table saws (4), bench grinders (6), bandsaw, signs, banners, posters, lights and....oh! TOOLS, so many tools, in fact I bought a tool truck! I met alot of good people and made friends with several of them here and had it not been for Ryan & Company, I would probably still be sitting on the sofa watching TV and not getting anywhere or anything done, period. Now there is a black side to this forum, for instance, I cant tell you how many times I was late for work in the morning, just because I made the fatal mistake of sittin down at the computer to put my shoes on and noticing an article that peaked my interest and next thing you know, I'm *** deep into it and have to apologize to my boss again. Or being freaked out by Lomo's avatars causing years of mental help. So, Thank you Ryan! This is also why I donate every year and why you should too. It ain't easy and it ain't cheap, but we would all like to see it stick around.

And Thank you Lomo, for the nightmares

I am new to this site in the past two months and am amazed by the info on this site. We are moving into a newly constructed house near Pittsburgh in December and I am actively planning the garage improvements using this site. Thanks to all involved with working the site; the effort is recognized and truly appreciated. I look forward to contributing in the future as this is my first post.

I too appreciate this site and it's knowledgebase. There's a lot to learn here, and it doesn't go off-topic too often. I like that.

Thank you so much for all the effort and time that go into making this an amazing place to kill and hour or two, and learn a ton of tips, tricks, and absorb some of the experience posted here. This has quickly turned into one of my daily reads, thanks again from a redneck Canuck!!

I started coming around in about 2012 but I haven't been out here for years because well, life just got in the way. But I was missing seeing what was going on out here so came to visit. Annnnnnd, once again, I'm hooked!! This is still a very cool and friendly place to be. And I love seeing what you guys are working on. Thanks to the staff of GJ for keeping this place a great place to be! So much to learn and so much to see!!!

To Ryan, the moderators and all the members, a BIG THANK YOU! Even my wife says, “well, what do your garage journal friends have to say about that?”

Thank you for a No Pop-Up Ads, no drama, reliable, same format, friendly, professional and great to read message board. I continually use the expertise of the members to troubleshoot projects, making my choices better and the results faster and cheaper, except for tool purchases. I’ve made a few of those I hadn’t planned on!

I log in on my laptop, iPad and iPhone. All work smoothly and glitch free. I can peruse the site 24 hours a day and 365 days a week. All holidays include heartfelt wishes from the members. Threads regarding the tougher things in life, poor health, family or neighbor problems, death of a loved one or GJ member are all welcomed reading.

I hope I have contributed to the board with comments, likes and “how-to” threads. I have some photos taken of new stuff as I go along. It helps with my builds as I have an internal dialog explaining what I’m doing. I hear the comments correcting a decision, even before I’ve posted it or made the cut etc.

As others have said. . . I appreciate the knowledge, comraderie, compassion, and lack of drama. And I too, have spent hours and money as a result of this excellent site.
