Very interesting build. I notice that some building techniques are different on your side of the pond.

I have never seen concrete finished "rough" then ground down.

Very nice build. Did you lay the bricks? It appeared you built the garage yourself in the photos.

Started knitting out the garage. My tool chest arrived.

Seems to be well built. The action on the sliders is nice not as good as snap on chests but then I didn't spend snap on money although I wanted to the wife wouldn't have approved [emoji16]

Are you going to paint the floor or put race deck in or something else?

Cheers Chris.

Interested in your experience with the toolchest as I've been keeping an eye on those on ebay.

I'll be putting pvc tiles down eventually but leaving it for now.

From first impressions seems like a decent quality tool chest. Only time will tell.

Finally done feels like it's been ages since the project started. Very happy with the end result. Drive way is still not fully complete due to bad weather.

Will you have a stove or some other heat source for the winter?

Thanks for all the kind comments. More updates to come.

I lived in Germany for a number of years where I built up my off road ktm bike in -20C weather. I'm sure I'll be able to handle the milder UK winters. Also the garage is fully insulated once you start working in there it gets pretty hot quite quickly.

Great job! The garage really looks great!

Now you need to show off your tools with pictures.

Apologies for lack of updates. I have been busy with the work on the Hartge. I've taken some pics to show some more details of the garage.

Sink and shelving unit which has a number of parts. 4th shelf hold all my detailing products and my DA.

My workbench which I made from timber 97x44mm the work top is 5mm thick mild steel. Very strong and sturdy as the frame sits on top of the legs. The compressor is Clarke 150L compressor. I wanted it specifically to sit under the bench otherwise it would have been wasted space. I am happy with the results.

Tool chest and tool cabinet. Holds pretty much all my tools, specialist tools are held in the cabinet.

I've been working on the Hartge. I needed somewhere to organise the parts I was removing. So I went to Ikea and bought these storage boxes, does the job nicely.

Current progress on the Hartge, its receiving a light restoration so basically I'm replacing most components on the car from HT leads, to servicing the injectors etc.

I've also been polishing the M3, paint has come out really nicely.

Looking good dude - How big did you end up going? Looks comfortable inside, would 3 cars fit?

Will post more pics of the Hartge once I've finished the light resto.

Yes plenty of space inside. I will be able to fit 3 cars inside. But when working 2 cars is better as more space to move about.

Always nice to hear from fellow bmw enthusiasts. The m3 recently had a water leak from the rad so I replaced it. While I was at that I decided to do the valve clearance. Feels like a different car only 3 shims replaced but it's made a big difference.

For the H26 the adjustment is done via eccentrics. For the M3 their isn't a shim kit I know off. You can order from BMW dealers for £10 a shim or from Alfa classic for £3 a shim.

Thread resurrection. I moved house but have the old one on rent so still have access to my old garage. Looking to builder a timber framed garage in the new house to keep costs down.

Also the Hartge H26 is now finally in for paint.
