My Hemi® days go back to 1965.....I had a '56 Chrysler with a wedge under the hood......I dearly wanted a Hemi® engine as they were all the rage.....I located a wrecked '55 DeSoto that had a Hemi® engine.....So I bought and installed the engine in my Chrysler......It turned out to be a real pig as the wedge was more gutsy......But it looked nice when I popped the hood and showed my buddies the spark plug wires going down through the center of the valve covers!:bounce:

My minions are coming through for me today!!!

They found me this Athol clmp on for $10 and then my brother found me this one, either Athol or Parker (but I think Athol) bolt through swivel jaw from the mid 1880s. I cannot wait to get my hands on that one...oh and it was FREE!!!

Joe: no wonder you pass on all the $50 150 year old vises. free 100+ year old swivel jaw Athol just finding it's way to your front door isn't all bad. looks cool and can't wait to see it cleaned up and hear what you think of it.

I don't think your wives would go for Yost or Athol. Seriously though, I miss every part of babies - poop, spit up, late nights and early mornings. I'm jealous, and for that reason I'm extending a hearty - YOU BOTH ****!

Congrats JRobb. Enjoy the time spent watching them grow up. As far as taking pics of the little tyke, include a vise in the photos as well, to add scale. As he grows, move up to bigger vises like the Parker 436.

I exchanged emails with the seller. Some one(idiot/a-hole/horse's ****...) offered him more than his asking price. So the add became an auction.

This is the second time in the last month or so someone has put up a vise (1st was the Reed 404), a larger than asked for offer has been made, and the ad becomes make an offer.

Some greedy SOB aound here needs their a$$ kicked, and kicked hard.

Hi. I just picked up a Wilton C1. I went in with my brother on a package deal on craigslist. My end of the deal is the vise, a Coxreels air hose reel and a cheap bench grinder for $250. Going to sell the chain puller, should come out of the deal for $150 on my end.

Gotta to do some reading here. Gonna clean it up and give it a quick coat of paint.

I actually missed the handle at first and had to go back and dig.....I asked around and tried to find out if it had a swivel base, still looking for that. This was a casulty of a 6S Kaizan event. Crazy eh? Stay tuned....

Agreed! Someone probably had a deal made to pick it up and this other bozo called and offered more. Now the owner thinks he's sitting on a goldmine.

That Reed pissed me off too, I refuse to call these sellers that won't list a price and are taking offers.
