I couldn't make it to the store that had my Dewalt kit I have to return but got a text today that it will be cancelled if not picked up. So why bother right ?

Just followup in a few days to make sure they cancel the order. Otherwise they may retain the product and cc charge for a longer period in case you might still want the order as a CS courtesy.

Hmm...might have to try that route.

I can't even fathom my local home depot stores honoring a 50% off coupon.

It's not as hard as you think. Last year I got a handful of Bessey clamps using this. Find a cashier that looks like a young temporary worker and it will be easier to use. As long as the discount is less than $50, they don't seem to care much.

I haven't used them this year, but is anyone having any issues with them being printed off? Last year if I got questioned, that's why I would get denied (because it was a print). Are y'all ruffling them up to appear as if they came out of a newspaper or anything?

Well I just went to my local HD, the tell me that they are out of Milwaukee 2763 impacts (the tool I'm after) but the other store in town has 5 in stock. I buy a dewalt $369 kit to trigger the discount and go ahead and pay for one of the Milwaukee 2763s at the other store. Drive across town to pick it up and to return the unwanted dewalt kit. Get the dewalt kit returned about the time that the tool department guy walks up to tell customer service they can't locate any of the supposed 5 2763 dewalts they are supposed to have in stock. Now I'm driving 1.5 hours back home and hoping that they will have one in stock when I have to come back to town in a couple days.

Looks like trying to process this deal online has been updated... It takes 100 off the big kit and 50 off the impact I tried to add.

Hit up a few HDs while I was out and about again today. Some store's just flat out said they don't take any Coupon's I just left item and said Thank you. Tried other's and no problem.

Seems like Pro Check out is the easiest. They just flat out do it anytime I tried it and they were open. I would go to Pro check out and try it and then drop off in car and went back in and try at regular check out by the Self checkout these are tricky was 50/50 for the few stores I tried today. Some had to ask head cashier had better odds with <25 yrs they just usually just did it.

That's right.

199-[199/(199+399)*150]= ~149
If you are planning on returning the main kit pick the dewalt it will bring the price down ~$5

So if I purchase this, then I return the combo kit and I get the impact for $116?

Yes, thats how it will work.

At some point during the promo last year, a few of the Milwaukee tools dropped price on the website but not in store. You could do the deal in store and have them price match the lower website price, or you could still order for ship to store (if it was available on the web)

Got an unusual text this morning from HD. The Dewalt $369 kit set for store pickup was cancelled by HD. The M12 ratchet has a tracking# and should be arriving soon.

How convenient.

I feel odd picking up an order then walking 10 feet away to return half of it.

Maybe they realized it's easier for everyone to just give the discounted price on the second item from the get go

I honestly still deciding between Makita and Milwaukee. Milwaukee's newest Fuel line is super strong. There isn't anything in the market can match them, however, I think Makita feels lighter and better in hand. :(

Go with feel. It matters more than max output numbers. After all, it will be in your hand every time you are using it. Make the tool an extension of your arm.

I find DeWalt 'feels' best to me with Makita a close second. That's why I own a bit of both lines. I really don't care for the feel of Milwaukee.

I ordered a M12 vacuum last night and selected a separate store for the kit because they only had one in stock and I was hoping it was the display. This morning the vacuum was ready and the kit canceled due to no stock. Worked out great.

Did you prompt the cancellation, or they just happened to do it? That would be odd.

Nope, just got an email informing me of the cancellation two days after ordering online and then later that same day an electronic receipt showing credit. Like someone else said...how convenient!!

Just went and picked up my order in store of the dewalt 20v set for 369 and a Milwaukee 12v hackzall at 99. It is showing a max refund value on the dewalt is $250 and max refund value on the Milwaukee at $67.26 meaning I cannot return one and get the full price refunded.
What are you guys doing for it to not show up like that and be able to return one of them?
Edit: i hadnt actually looked at the reciept except a quick glance when i hopped in the truck and i think those numbers are right after double checking it

On another note the true value 50% off coupon worked and got a dewalt 20v flashlight at half price.

Jlipsky, that's exactly how it's supposed to work. You don't get the full 150 off a single item, it splits proportionally between the items.

Man, I finally got lucky with this promo! I had been eyeing an M12 Fuel circular saw on clearance for $120. When I rang it up today it was down to $105, so with the Dewalt kit for $369 (which I returned), I got the saw for $71.77!

I'm guessing this particular store stopped carrying this item. My budget wouldn't allow me to spend $150 for a bare tool, but for $71.77 I'd be a fool not to buy it.

Went ahead and picked up the Makita XT324 kit (one with the drill/driver & brushless grinder at the $249 price) and the DeWalt $369 kit. Combined a Lowe's 10% off coupon with the deal and I was able to pick up the XT324 kit for $170! Returned the DeWalt kit immediately.

I chose the Makita grinder over the DeWalt as it felt much better in the hand, more natural. I run both battery platforms but have much more DeWalt than Makita.
