Played around a bit more with this '94 FRZ 600 $150 dollar bike, found it not to be charging did a test and bought a cheap voltage regulator off eBay.

Offered the client double what He paid for it, He just paid His bill to date and said keep going !

Over the weekend I started a fairly ambitious project (at least for my skill/experience level). Car is a 1992 Integra GS-R prepped for track days, it had a sunroof which was removed and the hole covered with a carbon fiber cap but now that I'm having the whole car painted I wanted to go back to an all metal roof.

Old roof removed

If you ever had plans of putting in a halo or eyebrow bar, now is the time.

Did final rearrange and cleaning for the electricians to show up in the morning. Kicked up a cloud of dust and triggered an asthma attack, so that sucked.

Glad to have things moving along though.

This weekend I worked on some led solar lights, I don't like most of the led solar kits that you can buy they are cheap and are really not bright enough, how ever the flood lights are nice, I have a friend that brought me over three old porch lights the refurbish. I ave pictures I can't get them to load? I will do it to night

Looking good! Don't forget to test fit the glass/plexi before finishing. You could also use panel bonding adhesive and you would just have to tack the corners near the glass and save some wleding and water leaks. (It probably wont see much rain)
Thanks! Unfortunately I don't have the replacement windshield yet, but I think fitment will end up being OK. I had thought about the bonding adhesive but I think I'll get a lot better fitment by clamping and welding. I do plan on using plenty of seam sealer to make sure it's water tight.

Yeah, that would be perfect timing if I were ready for that. Eventually I'd love to put a full cage in, but that's not something I want to do until it's a full race car that's being trailered, currently I still drive it to the track. When it gets caged I'll probably have boxes built for the bottom attachment points so that it can be pushed up as high as possible. Unfortunately the car was in an accident which is the reason for this tear down, repaint and in turn the roof swap.

Finished cutting the 45's for the lower slide out, fixtured it up and tacked it. Test fit seemed OK so I burned it in. I cut the expanded down, good thing I bought it large, UPS damaged the corner.

Last step was to run the air cleaner while I swept/vacuumed up for a half hour.

I understand that if you're still driving it.

Spent 4 hours trying to change out the power steering line on my 2002 Envoy, truck half in the garage, half out....at least it's not -20C like it was a few days ago. Warm enough for the snow to melt off the car onto the floor while rolling around, cold enough to freeze my *** off after it soaked through my jacket...

Primed and painted the chassis to the Spitfire. Single stage urethane from Sherwin Williams (Dimension product line) which I know some people swear by or at. What I know is that this was my first experience with HVLP and urethane paints. I have to say I'm impressed. The last time I did any real painting was back around 1990 and enamel or lacquer was it. Long dry times, fussy, and no HVLP or gravity feed guns. Today it's a lot easier and I'm pleased with the results. Glossy red, no defects, and it's curing very fast.

Now I have to clean the garage floor where some of the tarps and such didn't cover and I hadn't expected the overspray to be quite that much.

Man, that overspray is sticky!

Also, I'm pumped that it is coming out so well. I'm pretty convinced to do the base/clear in a canopy carport in the driveway when the weather improves. Even if you get a bug or defect, the ability to fast cure the damaged area and respray in an hour is a huge bonus.

Got the original AM radio working in my Fargo pickup. The antenna cable was shorting out against the body, so I swapped it out with my Dodge truck. Now I have working AM radio in all its glory! I was very pleased how good the radio and original speaker sound. Anyone have one of those old FM converters that mount under the dash that they might wanna sell???

Mounted some casters under my 4' x 8' work table, so I can roll it around when necessary.

Installed a new switch for the glow plugs on the Ford 4000 tractor.

It was 77* outside today. Just too damn nice to work!

Been cleaning the sockets and tools along with the top section of the toolbox. I found out the tool box was made the same year I was born!

Thanks for that blast from the past. Been there and wish I had kept it - would be quite the conversation piece these days

I'll look, I believe I have one in my parts stash.
