just picked one up for $75 in Rochester NY. After opening it up, I would never pay 299 or even 150 for this, but at 75, I can stomach that.

I agree that the retail prices on 99% of the Gladiator items are way over priced. I assembled one earlier today. The quality seems decent, but I agree that I wouldn't have paid $150 for it. When I actually looked at the display I was disappointed with the 19" depth, however this will work out well for me with the depth of my garage and length of my truck. For the money I am happy with it.

For $75 and a few hours work I can build a better one. :lol_hitti

Agree. Nothing is better than a work bench built by yourself.
Mine has pressure treated 4x4 legs, 3/4" oak plywood top, 1/2" regular plywood lower shelf. Could probably hold 3 tons on this thing.

Not to be a ****, but no 3/4" sheet of plywood can hold that much weight, much less the hardware you used to hold the framing together.

The top is 1.5" at least, some sort of pseudo hardwood and not totally flat - a bit crowned in the middle and trailing off 1/8" to both sides. That'll work for some things but not others. I do agree it would be much more satisfying to build your own, but I don't think you be much less than $75 in material.

Sears looks to be clearing out some of their old raised panel wrench sets. I picked these up yesterday:

Craftsman 32 pc. Standard and Metric 12 pt. Combination Wrench Set - $9.97
Craftsman 26 pc. Standard 12 pt. Combination Wrench Set - $9.97
Craftsman 26 pc. Metric 12 pt. Combination Wrench Set - $20.97

The ones I found were Chinese, but I'm sure there's a few US-made sets out there. You'll have to look for these in-store (full line stores, not Hometown, etc.) as they've either been removed from their site or don't show up at the clearance price.

I also found these full polish sets on clearance but I passed on them (lobster claws & all):

Craftsman 9 pc. Standard 12 pt. Full Polish Long Pattern Combination Wrench Set - $9.97
Craftsman 9 pc. Metric 12 pt. Full Polish Long Pattern Combination Wrench Set - $9.97

I'd get a pair of Sawhorse Tables, and put a heavy piece of plywood on top :)

Anybody know the OE who makes the Craftsman Adjustables? Western Forge, Armstrong, SK, etc?

So you know those Gladiator 65"? Yeah, those are easy to ship.

Yakima's out of stock at this point though (Friday night/Saturday morning ate them all up). Might have a floor display to sell for cheap though. All depends on if we're getting more in later or not.

Check your local stores for floor displays as well (call ahead to see if it's discontinued).

Thanks. Ordered a set of the Midwest snips. I have two of the straight line Craftsman snips, but have always wanted a set of left and right turn snips.

I got the last three at my local store for myself and two buddies. Not bad for $75.

I keep getting $10 off any automotive purchase. I can't get the points to apply though. Maybe these are good for just automotive service? I can't even get it to work on a battery charger.

Hard resist making another purchase as my account showed a 10 off for 20 purchase. So I added a $3 bottle opener to a 56 inch light tripod order for $12 total

You should be able to use that on anything in the Sears Auto Center.

Jumper cables, zip-ties, bungee cords, antifreeze, motor oil, car wash, car wash rags, WD-40, Lucas products, Windshield washer fluid, wiper blades, etc. All kinds of stuff to get with that $10. The only problem is you have to actually pick it up at the Sears Auto Center, and depending on your location, may or may not be worth the ten bucks to deal with that.

That's what I thought.... even when I pick the Auto Center as the pickup for something like car wax, I can't get the points to apply. It always wants to take my regular points. Very strange.

Make sure the product is being sold by sears or kmart and once you get to the payment and billing screen it should let you apply your surprise points at that time.

^ ^ May need to "Use up" your normal surprise points in another transaction first. 2nd transaction later just for the "auto" department points.

With the "department specific" points they are offering lately, I'm not inclined to spend more money with Sears.

i think i know what you're talking about. it was frustrating as I would spend some time shopping around only to find out I can't use my points. i started to read the fine print associated with the points and found that they don't apply to anything that is already discounted, basically only on items that are at full price and I *never* buy anything at Sears.com at full price so it I could never get the points to apply.

^ ^ ^ 17 piece screwdriver set of the normal clear handles.

Always "good enough" for at least prybars !! ;) I picked up set about year ago for $17 or so before points. Use up your Shop Your Way points if they'll apply.
