I love excavating sales like that. Even if I don't find anything, the fun is worth the price of admission. BlueBomber and I shared a few listings that were almost like that (without the flood) last year and both days still rate high on my enjoyment list.

It's sales like that that keep me searching EVERY weekend. Chasing the high.

Here is my weekends haul:

Speedmaster ratchet (made by Wright, super nice, hardest to put back together) Boker RH snips, Wright 1/4 spinner, Tomas and Betts crimpers, handful of US sockets, seal puller, NAPA screw extractors, Blue Point metric dies, vintage battery tester (which I promptly broke) and cast drill bit holder. I paid about $20 for all that.

Klein bag and belt, real good condition just a little dusty, goes for about $75, paid $5. Not bad, not great.

Local auction today. The wrench set is what I came for. Other than this stuff the items I came for went crazy high. The socket set is missing the 11mm, they look just like the Bonney stuff I have. The wrench set will go very nicely with my almost complete SAE set, Its a heck of a lot easer to by a set than trying to piece one together a wrench at a time.

Nothing as good as some of these so far, but I picked up a Mac 1/2" impact for 85 (over 300 new) at the pawn up the street from me. Owner looked like he might punch the cashier as I was walking out.

It rained sporadically throughout the weekend so there weren't a lot of outside vendors at the flea market but I still managed to do ok.

My main goal was to find a Yankee ratcheting screwdriver for cheap. I recently got a Yankee No. 41 push drill from my wife's Grandpa and love it so I wanted to get more Yankee stuff to play with. After some searching, I found this Yankee 130A Ratcheting Screwdriver for $3:

I'm currently in the process of cleaning it up because it was in rough shape when I got it. At this point, I have most of the rust off of it and I'm re-staining the handle. It does have some pitted rust but the ratchet function runs very smooth.

I also found a pair of *very* rusty Channellock 430 Tongue & Groove Pliers. Honestly, I almost perfer buying good tools in rusty condition because I can get them for cheap and I have fun restoring them. Here's the 'before' picture (note- they are covered with soap in this picture which is why they have a 'glazed' look to them):

Here's the after:

I also found a pair of Channellock 326 Nose Pliers for $2. They are a little rusty but are in good condition. I will be cleaning these guys up as well in the next few days.

In summary, here's what I found:
Yankee 130A Ratcheting Screwdriver $3
Channellock 430 Tongue & Groove Pliers - $1
Channellock 326 Nose Pliers - $2

I'm using the Yankees more again for simple jobs. I had to do some small pilot holes in a picture frame the other day and used a German made push drill to do the deed. Worked great, once I had put a couple of drops of oil in it. (Oil is the key for smooth operations of these!)

If you look you can even get a Yankee to hex adapter for using with the now ubiquitous hex bits.

The tool between the ratchet and snips isn't a seal puller, its for removing
Hydraulic lifters from an engine.

Got this from an on-line auction - paid less for everything than the value of the chest.

It was so heavy, it took two us us to carry it to the car. When I got home, I had to take each drawer out to move the entire amount of tools to the basement shop, hence the pictures of the contents of each drawer.

Now to determine the best way to sell all the tools, as I bought it for the chest- decisions, decisions, decisions!

On Saturday a garage sale of an old farmer adjacent to the neighborhood I grew up in... I had trespassed there as a kid anyway there was only a small garage out back that appeared to have been forgotten about 30 years ago and a dozen guys had beat me to the sale. I think I spent $17 ?

Then later that morning at the local flea market I spent $20

I later spent $16 for two file cabinets and 2 8ft pieces of 2" aluminum angle.
My favorite find has to be the clamp for sharpening saws.

Or the Diamond Caulk wrench. What are the pieces shaped like shoes for? Working on shoes? Or some kind of anvil?

FYI wranglerstar just did a video on that clamp for hand saw sharpening. The demand for those should be pretty high right now.

I just looked for that but only found several videos about gigantic crosscut saw vises and sharpening. I'm thinking dovetails and that guy's taking down trees for survival prep. I guess I'm out of the loop?[emoji53]

Using it.
Talking about it a few minutes in.
I enjoy his firefighting videos. Some of the other ones not so much. Like I said his fanboys should be looking for them.

They are a shoe cobbler's tool used to help attach the sole to the shoe....We always called them a shoe last.

Nice haul! How much did you pay for the drill indexes? If you don't mind telling.

Nice price on the drill indexes. I passed on a small one last week and kinda regret it. Seller at the flea wanted $5 IIRC, it was pretty beat, but was half full.
