I think I just virtually racked up every USA Craftsman tool (which I found satisfactory) in their current inventory

It will be interesting where they choose to finally settle in the near future, whether its here on the mainland or 101% overseas

Time to keep an eye out for more USA / quality tool offerings on eBay and Amazon :D

Some of the single wrenches at sears.com are USA, however it is hit and miss, same with sockets. You do not know what you are going to get

Saw these dorcy led clamp lights on clearance for $5 and had additional 50% off.
Store only.
Sales person said they had tables of other items that also had 50% off that went fast. Store was down to 1 table but nothing interest me.

That's a risk I'd rather take in person than ordering online, haha :bounce:
I purchased whatever Craftsman Tools I could based on the invaluable feedback on The Garage Journal; so far so good. :3gears:

I'm about due for tires on my Chevy C-2500 so I was looking around at brands.

This might be a deal others are interested in . . .
. . . . Guardsman LT all season tires suitable for trucks . . . . $ 105.99 each
LT 245/75/16 - - - 50K miles - - - Load Range E
http://www.sears.com/guardsman-lt-lt245-75r16e-all-season-tire/p-09569092000P

They charge another $23 per tire for installation, balance, valve stem, etc.

When I put 4 in shopping cart . . . it also shows 105,000 bonus points !!

Any one a fan of Guardsman tires from Sears ?? Would you recommend ??

Sears sells name brand tires but like other tire competitors they stock a lower line of tires that are made in ROC such as Radar. Not sure who makes their Guardsman but I would check it out first. RoadHandlers are currently made by Hankook

Sears has a $35 off $300 deal that you can usually stack onto a promo

Just was on sears.com and was looking at some hand tools and they were awarding random amounts of surprise points based on purchases. looked like about 20-30% of the value of the tool. I went away after about 5 minutes of browsing. Maybe someone else can take advantage of it if it works for them.

I have a funny feeling Sears is slowly beginning to realize their loss and as a result, are charging customers close to full price for particular items and awarding them (customers) in return to rack up bonus points so that they can use on their next purchase when nothing really is hugely discounted. Just my 2 cents...

That broom was at one point $12, now its $25. A 25-ft hose which was $12 just the other day is now $20 and labeled as Hot Buy. The points I'm about to receive in 24 hours from a previous purchase, will bring the Hose's $20 price tag back down to $12 (previous price).

They have a pretty slick algorithm, no doubt about that :p

Any one knows how frequently they award points without minimum purchases?

The $6 Surprise Points and $10 off $20 are all the points which are worth waiting for.

Just got another 10 off 20, betting maybe four or five times this year. They keep giving, I'll keep finding something to buy

Based on the sales they are having lately, I think the end must be near, and they are desperate to show sales. (granted this has been said for awhile, but look at the frequency of $10 or 15 back on all 50-75 purchases... that does not seem like a healthy habit)

It was a sitewide error for 23% extra bonus points, but they fixed it. Every product can't be "Covington sleepwear".

We'll see if there are complaints next week about SYW taking back earned points from this morning. :rolleyes2

Stopped by sears to grab something and they have the craftsman shirts for $1.97. Ymmv I grabbed a couple but left all the ones with "USA" plastered all over them...

Just used 10 off 20 yesterday, just got a text for another 10 off 20. At this rate I'm going to have a 10" knipex pliers wrench for every tool kit! They are marked down to 50 by the way, $41.87 shipped, with stupid PA sales tax of course.

Anyone knows if this still still USA-Made? It's on sale for $8.99, also patent pending (odd)

Bought these 2 just a few weeks ago, both are marked "blade made in Denmark, handle assembled in China, distributed by Sears brands."

...distributed by Sears brands."

I've noticed this new wordage, many Chinese products no longer list COO, but rather "Distributed in the US by Sears", or something similar...

I understand the principal of moving production over seas, doesn't burn my *** any less, though. However, if they are ashamed enough to no longer list where a product is produced, how can I have enough confidence to invest?

Wow, here I am thinking I'd be getting back bonus points. Shame on Sears. Was almost about to get $2.24 in points; upon refreshing the page, 90 Points.

No wonder I never got my points for an screw extractor set. I'll be returning that, no doubt about it.

I currently have the Stanley Fat Max, Made in USA of Global Components. Not sure if the Blade is Made in USA or abroad. Probably USA, and the Handle --- China

Are you able to cut effortlessly? I found the Stanley to make very smooth cuts very with minimum effort.

^This too guess it is cheaper to print new packaging than bring the manufacturing back here. Hopefully they will as contracts expire.

I received a $20 off $70 purchase offer the other day so that night I spent some time on the sears web site reviewing things I might need. Put a couple things in my cart and debated some last items to pull my order past $70. Got tired so figured I'd sleep on it and complete the order in the morning. Wake up 6 hours later, open up the laptop, log in and the slimy bastards had raised the prices not only on the items in my cart but everything I had been looking at! Great way to push costumers away.

Hmm, sounds kind of like how sales work at any retailer. :dunno:

I'm going to stop by Sears tomorrow, pick up a shirt, take it to the associate, and without saying a word, stand quietly with this expression :wtf:

I'm sure they'll get the message :spit:

As a former Sears tool associate, the COO bashing is the most annoying thing we encountered. Floor associates have no control. If for nothing else, I'm sure most would have it changed back to USA just to stop customers from bitching about it!

It will go down again as quickly as it went up. I have witnessed this many, many times. Just need to be patient and a lot of times you find other good/great deals in the meantime.

yeah, the changing prices in shopping carts is annoying. I put a 20 or 21 piece drive kit into my cart, normally around 55 or 59 price range, it was 19.99, went to a meeting, came back, got a 10 off of 20 suprise points e-mail, and the item went back to 45..

I just picked up my Craftsman Rolling Wedge Bar. Thought it was Made in USA, packaging stated Distributed in USA, COO info was no where to be found. It's going back. Might just exchange it for old stock.

Hmm, sounds kind of like how sales work at any retailer. :dunno:

Just got some Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx LT255 /80 R17 121Q E1 BSW for my dually. They where the tallest, AT's Made in the US I could find that would work without running spacers. So far I they seem great

apparently it's been ready for pickup since March 11th but they never sent out a "ready for pickup" email, and the status never updated on my order page...

Well, couldn't turn down the $12 jackstands, $8 channellock, and $15 knipex's. Also, the 10" PliersWrench is $11 off.
