Ok I guess this should go here - maybe not - I posted awhile back about a estate sale were I picked up a Commercial Wright Stander 52" deck lawnmower for $75.00. That was late fall. Changed fluids, filters, and installed a new battery in it. It already had new blades. Power washed it and listed it for sale on Craigslist. Last Saturday morning I met a buyer from Chicago in Mankato, MN and he paid my asking price of $2000.00. He drove here to pick it up and 2 others that were listed for sale in Minneapolis as the prices were about $800 less than in Chicago. Off to a local auction on Saturday to see if I can do it again.![]()
I've noticed a trend in my area that all the yard/garage sales start on Thursday or Friday during the day. Not sure what the idea behind it is since most people have to work during the week. Maybe they want to leave the **** for the people who come on weekends?
Big time suckage...well done!Estate sale today...paid $37.00
Da-yam, Topop! I read your post to SWMBO and she laughed and said you get major points for style!Dipped in to one estate in the big city I was working in just at closing time.... I was driving a 150 Ton crane weighing 141,000 pound 70' long and 11-1/2' wide ! I only did it because it was along my permitted route and there was a open lot across the street. I made a grand entry but didn't score much. Sales don't look to promising this holiday weAkend so I'm glad I got what I did.
For 6 bucks I picked a No. 70 Stanley wooden handle screw driver , a Ford USA automotive wrench and a Acme dual grit oil stone with a nice wooden box.
The snap on sale was updated with pics but i am not seeing anything to make me think they have tools? Guessing they just have a few hats or something? Looks like a old lady sale.

Just imagine how many more would come if they knew or had an idea of what the tools are. You going tomorrow?
You think it is worth standing in line for?

BMW, is that a Plvmb or early Proto screw driver; or a look alike?
BB Nice pickup on the DOE's
Well, I live in St. Cloud and have to work tomorrow morning, so no way am I going. If I was close, like 10 minutes close, I'd chance it. If I'm driving an hour, I'm passing with no photos of the tools available.

Outlaw, is that a Plomb long handle ratchet, or is it just pic?

why does one pull clean rags through pipes?Picked this guy up today. Offered $8 and they took it. Yahoo.
I don't have much conduit but will use it for pulling clean rags through pipe and fishing wires in walls. I also got a good sized plastic tool box full of **** splices, wire nuts, spade, ring and quick connect lugs and bunches of other switches, connectors, tape solder and irons. My first sale of the season.

FINALLY I got my new internet provider, the old one was so intermittent it was not worth it to post!
First 2 pics was a sale about 3 weeks ago, $26. Craftsman C-clamps, Crown label circle cutter, 1980's yardstick and vintage corner brackets. Proto 3/8" ratchet and a little ratchet set from 1969 for a safety award for the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant that used to be about 30 miles away. The crowbar in the back is a 36" Berylco Copper Beryillium one!
3rd pic bottom is a flea market the week after, $3. Six Proto sockets, one Snap On socket and a Williams wrench.
On top is last Friday's meager pickings after hitting 5 sales. $11 total. Brinks and Cotton open screw vise and a real Leatherman in nice shape. I had the knife set next to the vise while I was half underneath the workbench taking the vise mounting hardware loose and a lady picked up the knife and didn't want to give it back!
No sales today, was waiting on the Suddenlink guy!
This being half of what I bought at a garage sale, the other half which comprised of a tool box set of metric combination wrenches, channel locks, set of philips and standard screw drivers which I gave to my daughter all for $60 the sockets which were H code full set with breaker bar t handle and extension..wright torque wrench..![]()
