There's no room to hook up to a powerstroke in a van the way you would normally lift. There is just barely enough room for the oil pan to clear the crossmember and the valve covers to get by the firewall on the way out. Were talking about an inch of clearance, definitely not enough room to lift from the top so you have to lift from the front of the block. The problem lies in lifting it and keeping it level at the same time, hence the mechanism shown in the pics.
Oh, okay I see now. Is that just with the 7.3? Or did they even put the 6.0 in the vans.

Same idea for the 6.0,although I've never pulled one from a van. When Ford announced they were putting the 6.0 in the vans I decided I liked my body too much to live thru that torture and left Ford to go work at International.I was the only diesel tech at the dealership and the mess that was the 6.0 launch pissed me off and the 6.0 in a van put me over the top.

I like how much lighting you have, Beats working in a cave. How long is it going to take you to put that back in working order?

I've now dragged it into the shop (with a van) so i no longer get to work with the nice lighting. I could have it ready for bodywork in a day or two. There's a long list of parts it needs, but i have a donor car. Realistically i'll stretch the job out to about a week. ;)

It's even worse in the bends!

You wouldn't be Hagan from RPM? He is from near Lamar, I used to have relatives who farmed/ranched SW of Akron.

IF our house ever sells, you are fixing to get a Texan moving up there somewhere around Brighton.

Ok here are some more.

The "lawn ornament" is something we whipped up with some extra bombs we had laying around. I built the wood surround with some scrap and then hauled in a couple truck loads of crushed beer bottles. Took us darn near 2 weeks to drink all that! :bounce:

This is where my brother used to work when he was in high school/college. It's the machine shop at the mill my Dad works at. They make OSB.

The big lathe has an 18ft bed.

The reason everything is labelled is not because it's a meuseum. It's some kind of work efficiency/saftey program. I can't remember the name now.

He is now an engineer with S&W. Does all the CNC machine setup, programming, fixture design, etc.

Ill try to get a few of my dungeon of a shop on Monday.

Do you do all the service and repair on your Internationals?

Yes and 95% of our fleet is International.I was only a couple courses short of Diamond Certified when I was at the dealership. Can you still pull up what techs are certified by dealership on ISIS?I can't get it on fleet isis, but I wonder if my old dealership is still listing me on it's certs list,I was the only one in the shop certified in anything so they may still have me on the books to keep International happy.

I looked through the dealer education area and couldnt find anything. They completely redid the education section of ISIS last year.

Here's a job I'm starting next week, the guys doing the tank work are already going at. They're driving sheeting in, the sheets are interlocked and 20 ft long. Doing this because the yard is so small and they're too close to the building to go down 13 feet.

Just being able to say that is one of the most awesome things ever.

Moose,

Those are some interesting photos. The "parking lifts" are especially interesting.

Is that a body shop? I'm trying to figure out where the lifts are.

It's a car park (underground) as well as parking there's Golf Doktor (VW-Audi specialist) and car rental. (Europcar/Alamo/National/Citirental) I'm working for Golf Doktor (again) but just rebuilding wrecks at the moment. The lift in that pic is a parking lift, we have probably 10+, as well as 2 or 3 1-post parking lifts. That lift in the pic is outside.

Heres a couple of work, sorry that they don't really show much the place is so big that you really have to zoom out of take hundreds of pictures to show much.

The first is where I spend my night shifts: this is called the 3,7 because most of your time is spent dealing with the 3 belt which feeds from the stockpile thats between these bins to the 7 belt. The 7 belt then takes them to the secondary crusher where they are reduced from football size to 3/4" gravel size before going to the grinding circuit.
3-7.jpg

Then on day shift I work at the secondary crusher which makes big rocks smaller: this shot is from 8 stories up down to the ground and shows a couple of cones for the crushers sitting on the ground.

Ahh, I see...

I kinda figured the lifts outside were for parking only. I saw lifts like them the last time I was over that side of the pond.
