I too see a lot of good material at our scrap yard. No sale.
It is unfortunate that in today's world, most children want the fast cash instead if carrying on a hobby or skill.
Here you are Drives, photos of the mocked up and still in design grinder station. My thoughts are to set 4 of my blocks on the 30" steel circle and set the new to me 2" belt grinder on the end.
The 30" would rotate on a old hub off a truck, I would have guides along the outside edge to help steady if needed. I'll probably run a feed through the hub and have outlets above the table. I'm planning on not letting the table rotate more than a full turn.
I also want to cut holes at each of the rear grinder exhaust and duct to below the table for a simple collection.
I may also build a stand for a fifth grinder in the middle, but elevated above the the others. I'm tall, so I don't think it will be a problem.
I'm lazy and despise changing wheels, so I'm going to spread out wire wheels, maybe a couple flaps, a cut off, may set up a drill Chuck on one to use for whatever, aluminum wheel and only a couple actual grinding stones. Will likely have a green stone for tool sharpening.
I would like to set one up for the 3-M abrasive/buffing well on the tapered arbor.
I have a 1HP, 2- 3/4 HP, 3 or 4 1/2HP and 2 1/3HP.
I also have a 3/4HP Dayton that I went through a couple years ago, I could use that as a 8" buffer.
It'll be on castors of course, so if doing a big and dirty grinding project, I can wheel it outside.

Painted the electric hoist today so I can hang it in its place instead of it hanging 5' above the shop,floor slap in the middle of the doorway.
I painted it brown to match the steel roof frame out front ( concession with my wife) it will look better anyway.
I'll get it hung this weekend when my son is over.
It's has a key lock on the the control handle to keep unauthorized Shorty... I mean people from using.

I'm thinking of the grinder table. I'm thinking if your gonna have wheels to roll it outside than added the hub might not be needed. Just turn the table on its casters. Now if table was might to be stationary then I can see it being great to rotate. Getting that hoist up will be great. There's no doubt that it was dead in the middle of the pathway. It's coming together and use son as much as possible to speed stuff along. You gonna paint the green Lista s before bringing them inside?

Ok than to go along with the lazy theme I think you get a small motor,2 sprockets, and a chain from your son and have the whole rotating system motorized. LOL.

Some people hang bull balls from thier trucks, I hang capacitors from my lift, you ought to see them jump around when the motor starts and stops.
Painted the covers seperate, it'll be going back together tonight.

Just went threw the entire thread! Great craftsmanship on the build, I like the blue/black on the rack too. Looks like a great shop and it seems you have everything one would need. I'm subscribing to see whats next

Bears, thanks for stopping in. The roof build was a project for sure. Still not compleytly done, but good for now.
I have pretty much all that's needed except time to put it in place.
