Well they say the pics on the Internet are a little different than in person:thumbup:

dang it .......figures!!!

Can you share some information on the mesh hood vents used on this Vette?
What is the material for the vents?
Is it a purchased finished product, or something you made custom?

Yes we made it custom......we cut out the aluminum bezel and mounted the aluminum mesh behind it.

I can only read this thread once in a while because of the drool factor produced and dribbling all over the keyboard.

Mark......your cars are just over the top.....each and every one of them. I watch the builds you do, and I keep watching Discovery Channel or Velocity to see if they come out with a new show featuring GodSpeed Rides. It would be an outstanding show for sure.

If you are looking for a 440 for the Challenger, my neighbor has a camper that he is going to part out and it has a 440 in it. I know that he'd sell it, but I don't know what it would be worth. I know that you would rebuild it anyways, but this ran when parked a few years back.

Thank you Kevin. Funny because my motor guy said a 440 out of a motorhome would work great. Right now I am looking at a new Hemi crate motor in a very affordable package. If I don't get it bought I will get with you on the 440. Thank you!!

I just made the 'Vette my desktop.....I like car ****!!!

Ha ha.......its my desktop too:)

Are any of you going to the Atlanta Motor Speedway show next weekend? I was invited by Tremec (transmissions) to be in their Vender booth with the 63 Corvette so we will be at the show.

Good. God.

3 days later and I've worked from page 1 to the end. It's almost like watching 4 seasons of an awesome show you never knew about on Netflix then getting caught up.. and having to wait week by week for new shows to air..

How the HELL did this happen?! Went from "this dude has money and knows how to use it, look at this amazing garage" to a full blown custom shop. All in 3 days! haha.

Congrats on the success of your business, you guys are putting out some crazy stuff. I'm not a Vette guy but damn that thing is insanely perfect. One of these days I'm going to drive on down to Florida and curl up in a ball, more than likely hyperventilating, in your garage's kitchen that is 7x better than my home's kitchen. I love it sir, all of it. Very nice work on the garage/house and builds. Keep it coming.

Ha Ha.........I can tell you it happened with nothing else than sheer determination!

So much has been happening I really haven't had a chance. So many nights I come to GJ and want to post and feel like how in he world can I catch up with the guys. I don't know where to start. I have been getting the 63 Corvette out quite a bit. I guess its like winning a beauty pageant you better get out there and show off before the next pretty girl wins and your old news.:lol_hitti A few weeks ago Tremec Transmissions and American Power Train invited us up to Atlanta to the Summit Racing show and they had us in their booth. It will probably be a few months before Super Chevy hits the news stand with a feature on the car. I have a few national venders putting it in their catalogs as well so lit feels pretty good. It has been a very good piece of marketing for the shop.

I don't know if you guys remember but a while back I picked up an SRIII chassis. It had all the new Corvette C7 suspension on it and was set up for a new 6.2 LT1 engine. I even had a 63 Vette convertable bought for the project. quite frankly I decided after my split window there was no reason for me to build this car. However, I did have a customer come by with a 1965 vette and wanted to do a project. We are building him a 65 corvette resto mod with a new LT1 and the SRIII frame. The car had been sitting in storage for 6 years and i had it shipped down a few weeks ago.

So check out that bad@@s motor!!! We are putting a 6 speed automatic behind it....6L80. I tried to talk the customer out of keeping the flares and into putting the factory quarters back on but he wants to keep them. Its OK though because we will have to figure out how to make it look pretty. I am working on renderings right now. What do you guys think about the flairs????

P.S........missed you guys!!!

Mark, missed you too! I also know you are busy as a one-armed paper hanger. Do whatever you have to to keep the lights on and your employees well rewarded for their hard work.

I like the flares but I'm one of those Corvette people who think once your Corvette has lost it's virginity with a NCRS incorrect air cleaner, all bets are off. If it's going to scare the daylights out of a C7 owner, it shouldn't look showroom stock. That just isn't fair to those of us who own Corvettes to compensate for our feelings of inadequacy. Or who just have had a thing for the plastic fantastic since childhood.

I am with Bob on the flares. I think they actually look pretty good with the rear end(which isn't exactly oem either).

Looking forward to another amazing Project.

Keep up the great work Mark and team.

And thanks for sharing with us.

The flares have a bit of the Gran Sport look to them. Paint the car blue, and powdercoat the pipes white.

Ok guys then I am going to roll with it!! I have hired Cars by Kris to do some renderings of the project so we will be working on them over the next few weeks. We can't do the side pipes because the frame isn't set up for them. We will be keeping the front spoiler and the rear spoiler......I think they will be cool. I can tell you that we will be putting some wide *** tires on this project because the fenders allow a tremendous amount of room.

We have started pulling the Challenger apart. This car is so sweet and clean its not even funny. I am still thinking of putting a new semi in it. I had a Pace Performance price a package on a 5.7 Hemi using a 4L80 gm transmission. I have a budget on this car and not sure if we will have enough for a new semi swap. Pretty much waiting to see what we get into with the bodywork first.

Best thread ever! Some really nice work you're doing.

I've got a Corvette as well, a 2005, so a little newer than most of the bodies you're using and older than a few of the engines. It's a fun car though--supercharger, 12psi of boost, meth injection, cam, etc.

Took it for some 1/2 mile racing last week but got rained out :( Hoping for better weather on the 14th.

I thought the race fuel cans and helmet made for a good picture

Well you have built quite a good business from you and your employees talents.
Just one question after reading all this....did you try Cheese head allen sockets on the Vette. I did a car a few years ago that had the normal allen heads and got sick of damaging my fingers when polishing, so we changed out to cheese heads, they would blend with the lines of the tail light lenses and the curve of the hood...JMO
Did you watch that old film "corvette summer" about the right hand drive Vette. I thought of it immediately when I saw all that extra fibre glassing.
Nice work.

Are those cheese head screws made in Green Bay?:lol_hitti I haven't seen Corvette Summer in a while but I would love to watch it again.

oh don't allow a budget to stop you. Put a damn hellcat motor and twin turbo that POS..... NOW!!

It would be nice to put a Hellcat in it. Owner does have a budget but hopefully as we get through the excitement of the build we can raise the bar!

Since when has that stopped you?

Did I show you guys a picture of the 1957 Cadillac we just finished not too long ago. It was owned by the same family since new. It only had 29,000 original miles on it. We did a frame on restoration. I just love the factory exterior colors. The interior was a serious project. Between all of the metal, vinyl, leather, cloth, stainless, etc there is a tremendous amount of workmanship in this car. It took months to get the original reproduction cloth and I had the leather special made for this to represent the original color. I just love this car. This was the first job we did from our very own interior shop at GodSpeed Rides.

To me 1957 was the most beautiful lineup of Cadillacs ever. The '57 Eldorado Brougham is still my all-time favorite Cadillac but every car in the brand looked great that year. Mark, you and your team did this one proud!

I always use to say they don't make them like that no more. Man that car is nice!
Interiors like that makes you wonder why people are still buying the modern plastic ****.
I love it, and I'm sure you'll amaze us with the Challenger and Corvette.
Keep us updated!

See, "Every day in some little way, I get smarter and smarter".
It is amazing how many times you find different names for an object. My son has Asperger's and he absolutely drills me if I call anything by a different name. The conversation usually ends with, " I'm the one with the learning disability dad, but you forget more than I learn".

"...You forget more than I learn." That is very similar to a physics professor I had in college, his line was "I've forgotten more than you will ever know." Still makes me laugh as he was very intelligent if just a bit full of himself.

Great job on all of the work that you do Mark, that 'Vette looks great and I actually love the flares and rear wing, it really gives it a Shelby Daytona vibe, and makes it look so much meaner.

Here a few months ago a girl stopped in GodSpeed and wanted to redo her 2002 Mercedes CLK430. The car belonged to her grandfather and it was very sentimental. She wanted custom paint with lots of sparkle!! The flake in this paint job in the sun is unbelievable. We did a full blown custom leather interior.......seats, dash, door panels...we did it all. Custom purple convertible top and a full blown sound system. I wanted to put 20"s on it and drop it but she wanted 18's. They are Irish so we embroidered the shamrock in the seats for her.
Project cost 3 times more than the car was worth but its what she wanted.;)

Here is a youtube video of it.....

That interior looks awesome. Nice job!

I really liked it too.

Sorry to be the spoiler there. :( The diamond stitching on those seats looks great!
JB

I am glad you saw the article. I was at a car show yesterday and someone recognized me from the article......my 5 minutes of fame!!

That 57 Caddy... Dammmmmnnnnnnnn!!!

Another one of my favorites......I love the interior!

Very nice work on the Mercedes! I saw when you got it and wandered how you were going to personalize it with out destroying it and I must say very well executed.

Wish you weren't on the other side of the Country from me, been looking to have my Mustang interior redone with diamond stitch inserts in the seats and alcantara. Works looks amazing, whats the name of the wheels you used?

I can't say I wasn't concerned about it either. I was concerned about the exterior color choice but it came out beautiful particularly after the top was installed. I wanted 19's or 20's but because of budget we did the 18's. I am really happy with it.

They are KMC 691 slides. They are not crazy expensive at $300 each retail.

Hi Mark and everybody at GJ. Greetings from Sweden :)

Where to begin...

First, sorry for my sometimes swedish'ified english. Hope you'll understand me :)

Mark, I found this thread a couple of months ago and started reading about that epic "garage" ("garage" because MG is A LOT more than most of us call a garage :) ) you built in your estate. Thought it was amazing, just like all other on GJ. Enjoyed the builds you made there and was really happy for you 'cause you seem like a really down to earth guy that has really made it. With lots of work, sweat and I guess from time to time, tears.
Then you buy this new place and start a business out of it. Absolutely incredible :)
And the builds that keep coming from Godspeed... Well, don't know where to start. Amazing doesn't quite cut it.

I've -finally- caught up to date with the thread and have enjoyed every minute of it. Can't wait to see what you will bring us next.

Will the new place get a make over like the original MG?

What happens these days back at MG?

What happened to the fire truck, have the owners used it at all? Any pics or feedback from them?

Any more bikes?

Cheers
//Jocke

Lots of good questions Jocke. First thank you for reading and glad you enjoyed it. None of this would have been possible without all of the support of the guys on GJ. Funny you ask about the new place getting remodeled. I have failed to make note of this in this thread. Right now I am currently putting a new spin on the lobby and building our new showroom. In traditional style I am doing something special.....something that matches all of our logo and stuff. I am using some of the same textures I used at the Monster Garage.........brick, pallet wood, and my favorite corrugated siding. The show room will have areas for paint samples and fabric samples. Below is a You Tube link to the progress up until a few weeks ago. I will get some current shots and maybe get some more ideas from the guys here.

The firetruck has never left my sight. Believe it or not the firetruck resides in the Monster Garage as I am storing it for the owners............I probably should be charging them a storage fee now.:dunno: The downside of the shop is I have no time to play.....however, this past weekend i was able to spend 4 hours in the garage just organizing and doing what we do in our garages. I really love being in the garage and it is such great therapy and I don't know, I may have to sell the shop so I can play in my garage more!!

Please look at the You Tube.
