TBH, if I were the supervisor, I'd refuse, as well. Menards is a regional chain, about which I only know because I used to be an IndyCar fan. If challenged, I'd just feign ignorance and tell him it was only competitive stores in the area like Lowes, Ace, 84 Lumbar, etc.

The form says ANY in-store purchases, and nowhere on it does it mention Menards.

Anyone have the last rebate form and the dates? Looks like I dropped the ball on the last one (I thought there was one after the May 27-April 2 but not sure).

I did a online chat trying to get the rebate. They called up rebate center said they can not send out old rebate form. But they said they will honor the 11% and just had to give them my order number or instore receipt number. They submitted it said it will only take 2-48hours instead of 6-8 weeks.

When I submitted the rebate for the Makita kit bought on the $150 promo they filled the cards for the amount prior to applying the $150 discount. A $140 receipt turned into a $37 gift card.

That's great. Is it confirmed that the actual dates were 4/17-4/23 as Spn said?

Not sure. I mentioned those dates. Gave them my receipt numbers purchase price and date between them. She sent me 1 GC for all them. I already got the eGift card. Give it a try.

Yes.Make copies and send those.Keep your originals.
dang it, i sent in like 10 different rebate forms with single receipts. i used to do a ton of rebate stuff, so i had a very specific process to help from getting denied. Good to know for this next round of rebates. Thanks.

The local store had boxes with one of the Father's Day items on the floor.

SKU 515551
26 in. 6-Drawer Tool Chest and Rolling Tool Cabinet Set, Black

HD.com show them at $149.

They didn't have a display model and the boxes had pink "hold for 6/16 .." on them. Anyone see one of these yet? At that price I would assume they are pretty cheaply put together.

whoever just said they have a $4000 purchase to make, better get on this... that's a $440 rebate
A single 4000 dollar purchase on one receipt? You should be going to the pro-desk and asking for a discount anyway. They can do 5 to 20 depending on the person, or send it up the their Bid Room. The minimum for the volume discount is $1000. No rebate, discount right at the door.

I had a run in at SCO today. The attendant was absent minded like usual. She was not paying attention to the screen whatsoever, just flirting with some dude.. But as i was scanning my penny items, she gets a phone call and starts walking over to me. Then grabs my stuff. Manager pops out of nowhere and tells me to stop "hacking" their SCO machines.

This leads me to believe that some HD employee was watching me on closed circuit as I was walking around the store, and then alerted the SCO attendant when i was scanning.

So you "hacked" their system, I'm sure for a serious thing like this they called the police, right? :bounce:

It definitely sounds like they were marking you.

the funny thing is, they get pissed if you get a penny item. it's not illegal, they set the price, not you. they could call the cops all they want, all you're doing is buying an item for a price that they set. they know their system is flawed, but they wont spend the money to overhaul and fix it.

Managers get "fined" for penny items leaving the store, after the grace period expires, if the item just pennys out they have 24ish hours to pull it after that the manager gets "fined" Ive had 2 managers tell me this now, These are the cool managers who sell me most penny items on a gerenic SKU for 1.00 each, unless its something under 50 bucks then they just say take it.

This... Mother does property management and has a volume pricing account with them. She almost always gets 20% and sometimes more. I never understood why she would order cabinets and flooring from home Depot and Lowe's until she showed me how much they take off. You can also say u will use Lowe's and make them go even lower. Most of her purchases are well over 4k since she orders everything for 1 house remodel in one visit. They seem to give you a lot more of discount if u place the order online/over the phone as compared to coming into the store.

She really screws them because she will wait for their annual "free install with purchase" special and place tons of huge orders for the year that week.

using AMEX for the 5% off on $100+ purchases. If you get to checkout without $100 worth, just grab a gift card for the remaining amount.

Hit up the west coast HD's from Oregon to Nevada. I passed quite a few stores but scored, oddly enough, close to home in one store. Got 8 nailers (bostitch, paslode, senco, etc), dewalt compressor/nailer, penny undercabinet lights, penny canned lights, and penny sprinklers. Passed on penny carpet, penny granite vanity top and penny toilets because the truck was packed.

Got nailed by the sco attendant as soon as I started scanning all of the penny items in one go. She had the manager come over (who i spoke with earlier when buying the nailers) and he marked everything to $1 each. I said thanks and added I'd put in some nice words for him.

I noticed a lot of small town stores are completely in on the penny thing and empty. I found a tool cabinet for a penny (because they wrote PENNY on it) and the attendant said no way I found a penny because all of the employees get them. Sure enough, manager said last clearance only and wouldn't budge on the $44 price. I told them have fun taking it home.

I think penny items are a way to supervise stores. If a store has a lot of penny sales, district managers know who to kick in the pants. That value is probably more than the minor loss they take on penny items that would be a write off otherwise.

FYI for the 11% match rebate, your purchases do NOT have to be only during those specific dates. I talked to an employee in store and they said they think as long as they are within 60 days of the purchase date (regardless of what 11% rebate form you send).

I have just found that to be correct as I have $460 showing approved and coming back, and I know for sure most of those purchases were not within the specified week on the form! :bounce:

My highest dollar purchase was on 3/21 and the rebate tracker shows this

"Status Details: Your rebate is approved and is scheduled for final processing.

Rebate: $366.87

Promotion Name: The Home Depot Get Your Eleven Percent Rebate Match Offer -eligible for purchases made between 3/27/2016 - 4/02/2016"

Called the C/S line on the rebate form. Took over half an hour to get someone to answer.

She gave me the rebate code for the 11% match ending on 4/23 but she did not give me a clear answer at all about the 60 days. That would mean that purchases made up to 6/22 would be eligible?? Her words were "If you are within the 60 days we can PROCESS your request". Does that mean you process and deny, process and accept; what does that mean? She had no clear answer and just left me with an awkward pause.

I am going to mail mine in and hope for the best.

"Rebate must be postmarked no later than 60 days after date of purchase". In other words, if you're still mailing in for the 4/17-4/23 range, you got a week and a half left to mail it.
