Ahhh, now I know why prices on these are so high -- one individual owns 90% of all the baby bullets ever produced!
Wonder if I leave my 945 and 935 alone together in a dark room for a while if I'll end up with a litter or two of 920's...
Well they are all pretty old, You might have better luck if you had a vise **** Vid running in the dark room.![]()
You are correct Sir, I can't afford them anymore... $$$
By the way, I love your Lazarus Long quote!

Travelling to Lancaster PA tomorrow to buy 4 or 5 vises and then, with some luck, another 5" Bullet and two 5" Starret bench vises with rotating bases.![]()
If I was in the market for one I would ask that he didn't paint itWilton 1765 alert on Ebay I know Bullet prices have topped out but this is one nice bigger tradesman for decent money and free shipping. Also, if you read the fine print he has more and he's will to even paint them your color of choice.

I was given this little guy today. The Oring to open the vise seems to be broken.
Columbian no 3 1/2

Macgee's little Prentiss is holding it's own right now.---It is a nice one but does have a chip on the jaw.---Only flaw I see.---Auction about over.

I bought this one off EBay about 6 years ago plus a real nice no named table vise for $35.00 plus shipping.---Vise was completely covered in rust so looked real pathetic and unsalvageable.---I couldn't even see the separation crack between the swivel jaw and the body because of the rust.---But I saw the swivel pin and new what it was.---My how prices have changed.

Remember Zoomie has a dozen of these buggers.

My dad has the vise bug, he found this nice Columbian 604 at a tag sale on half off day for $20. There are some hammer marks and the handle is tweaked, but otherwise it's nice.
Unusual vise for sale in Chico, CA.
Seller says no ID marks just the numerals 15
5 inch wide jaws
Anybody recognize this weird one? Anybody want it for their collection? Seller wants $175 Wants and gets might be different numbers of course. It's 150 miles from me.
Joe - any hints on what you are picking up tomorrow? Did you buy the tiger that was for sale in Lancaster?
Shift: I'm going to guess that it's a Lewis.
Yep, Lewis.
grouseman: Insomnia allows me to respond to posts early. Your Lewis looks like the bottom one in my post except that, if you look at the rear end of your static jaw just above the slide, you seem to be missing your dingus. Man, I hate it when that happens.
zoomie: Thanks. I saw that weird slide arrangement and thought it looked familiar. Somehow, I was able to locate that ad among my clutter...um... collection.
If you look close, VA's is a fixed jaw, swivel base, the one Shiftless asked about is a swivel jaw, fixed base. Hence, not missing a dingus (I hate when that happens too).
Shift: looks like a 150 mile road trip is in your future. some of those big old open screw vises really have heft to them. did the owner say how much it weighs? It also might be the first one like that I've seen with a swivel jaw and I do like the covered open screw design. good luck and hope you get it so we can see more pictures.
CRS: I think pulling up catalog pages in an instant is what is going to keep you young so keep up the great work. thanks
NY: that might be the first Emmert I've seen like that without any cracks or welds in a while. nice find and that should clean up nicely.
ALL: moved some things around in my storage and while I was there took a few pictures of my Little Cabinet. there are a few gems in there that i'll never part with, but i'm sure a few will find members or clients and friends benches this coming year because I have 5 more areas where I stuff these.
