The 5 normal size pliers should be USA but the three mini will be China.

This would be a great deal:

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-3-pc...p-00943355000P?prdNo=5&blockNo=5&blockType=G5

The quick release (aka locking) extensions are nice. Taiwan-made, if I remember correctly.

If you don't want to click on the link, the 3 piece, 3/8 inch set is on sale for $11.99.

Yup, you want those. Very useful for stuff like spark plugs where you're pulling the socket off with substantial force.

The Sears Craftsman design is better than the Snap On design, IMO. Much more compact and unobtrusive.

Sears stopped selling Craftsman tape measures years ago, but those that really want the Craftsman brand can still get one at Ace Hardware. No lifetime warranty, though.

Once again for the July 4th sale, Ace Hardware has $2.99 Craftsman items.
(Only the screwdrivers and speed square are Made in USA)

Craftsman 25ft Touch Lock Tape Measure (00945071)

For online, it's $4.99 - $2 mail-in-rebate.

For in-store, it's $4.99 - $2 instant rebate w/Ace Rewards membership.

Just FYI for those interested I'll put this here. 3 jack stands, 3 ton HF, 4 ton Craftsman I just picked up, and 5 ton Mac stands I've had for 30 years.

The craftsman stands are shorter than I anticipated and built pretty similar to the HF 3 tons.

My old craftsman professional 4 ton stands have a thicker saddle then the newer ones. They are the same height though.

Thanks kball. It's interesting to see them side by side.

Honestly if they are $30 and you don't have any surprise points to bring them down for the price and the difference I would just buy the HF 3 ton set. Almost the same thing.

Does it feel rugged? I don't know about the heavy duty ones, but all of the other craftsman boxes are flimsy. For this price range, I would go with Husky at HD. But, like I said, I don't know how the heavy duty line is.

It felt a lot stronger than the other ones they had on the floor. It just seemed like a good price. There is no Home Depot near me so I'm pretty limited here. Right now I don't have anything except a small portable box so anything is better than what I am using in my garage.

This is on closeout at my small store for $339.64. Does this seem like a good buy?

Neil

I sold my old one almost exactly like it for about $200 needed something larger as I outgrew that box set VERY quickly. About 2 of the 200pc ish mechanic socket sets, duplicate combo wrenches basic impact and air tool equipment screwdriver drawer automotive drawer electrical drawer and a small demo tools drawer. Was busting at the seams really

Not seeing much on the site this morning.

They got this offer, which requires spending at least $20 out of pocket:

"QB--Members get $5 (5,000) back in pts when you spend $20 or more on a Tools purchase at Sears. Pts to be awarded 1 day after trans and exp in 30 days. Limit 1 time per mbr. INSTORE and ONLINE"

Also got this bag set down from $29.99:

Craftsman Tool Bag Combo (16" and 20" bags) $12.99

That looks like a nice box! Closest HF is Green Bay which is 3-1/2 hrs away. I don't have a big box now so waiting for a trip would not be a big deal. I have some thinking to do.

Neil

It is a very nice box I have one and very pleased with it no issue with it. Just One thing when you and if you buy it check the Boxes before you leave the store. Went thru three top boxes before I got one that had lock keys first one no keys second top box keys locked in box (still havent figured that one out). Third box had them taped to back bottom box was fine first time.

Thanks! Yeah it was between the DeWalt set, an Ace Pro set and the Craftsmen sets on sale right now for $4.99 some areas even have them for $2.99 if you buy at ACE. I am going to check it out tomorrow! You can't have too many screwdrivers and they always tend to walk away when friends or coworkers are around! I just ordered some Craftsman Dual Material Fold Up Hex Key Sets and a GearWrench wrench! Lots of Craftsmen gear on sale at Hassett Hardware this weekend!

So you get $15 from Google for every person that purchases through your invite link?

I was wondering why you are promoting only that "Hassett" Ace Hardware, but apparently the Google Express referral program is limited to L.A., S.F., and NYC.

Don't think it's a referral link. I used it and Google gives you $15 towards your purchase because they make you enroll into their Google express, Amazon prime equivalent. ($95 annual fee, gives you 3 months for free)

Also I am not in any of those 3 places you mention and it worked for me.

I never said that others would not get the $15 for signing up for Google Express.

See the "invite" and the code in the URL? That's a referral link. If you go through that link and purchase from that Hassett store (San Francisco area), then FLATBMW will get another $15. At least, that's my understanding of how the offer works.

I am sure you can. I bought a used/clearance craftsman router. I was told if I wanted to pay $12 for warranty. I pass on it. Went home. Router was smoking as soon as I power it up. Went back next day. Told them I wanted to warranty it, They gave me a new one under warranty no questions asked.
