29" metal handled saw with really big teeth and a slender, swayback blade. Some folks on eBay are calling these ice saws. No maker's marks that I can see. Anyone care to share their knowledge?

That's a docking saw. Google for more info.p

Two flea markets today. I was surprised by how busy they were. I figured that there would be few vendors and fewer crowds due to the holiday weekend. Temps in the 80's, but a cool breeze, a good day. A number of the regular vendors took the weekend off, but there were enough "yard sale" vendors to fill the spaces. Between the two FM's I ended up spending $19.

FM#1 - $12
- Herbrand #1219-M 19mm angled combo wrench (recessed panel)
- Herbrand #1214-M 14mm angled combo wrench (recessed panel)
- Prvto/Plvmb #1214 7/16" combo wrench (pebbled size panels)
- Bonney #1114 7/16" combo wrench
- Matco BD16M6 3/8dr 16mm deep socket
- 10 various rotoloc disks ($1ea for $10)

FM#2 - $7
- Williams #1163 9/16" combo wrench
- Williams #1163 9/16" combo wrench (another)
- Williams #1161 7/16" combo wrench
- Williams #1159 5/16" combo wrench
- S-K #41908 1/4dr 1/4" deep socket
- S-K #41909 1/4dr 9/32" deep socket
- S-K #41909 1/4dr 9/32" deep socket (bad/incomplete stampings)
- S-K #41912 1/4dr 3/8" deep socket
- Craftsman #44205 1/2dr breaker bar T-handle (=V=)
- Craftsman #44365 3/8dr breaker bar T-handle (=V=)

It's my gas up the car day, and I did find one sale to cruise past afterwards.

$15 for a Pelican 1520 case. only one sheet of the foam left, but I need to decide what I'll put in it before I order any replacement foam. (~$40)

Approx 20 X 16 X 7-1/2

Beautiful morning out with the wife.
$30 bought some good stuff. I need some of the fasteners for a project.
I passed on two things, now I wish I had bought: $1 for a 48oz Blue Point ball pein hammer head with no handle, and $1 for an old wood handled screwdriver like the two I did buy, but twice the size.

Lesser I think the wooden handle screw drivers are called cabinet maker turn screw And that's a nice set of Riffler files!

Is that a KD oil filter wrench? I have a set of them and use them all the time. I tired the craftsman versions with the loop handle, and was not impressed.

Tiny haul today...

20160703_092450_zpsad9r3lpd.jpg

Just the machinists’ tools.

20160703_093025_zps7zkfy6j8.jpg

Caliper rule with locking nut (L.S. Starrett No. 425), telescoping inside gage (L.S. Starrett No. 229), screw thread pitch gage (L.S. Starrett No. 40), outside spring calipers (L.S. Starrett, no model number), unmarked firm joint calipers, and a center gage (L.S. Starrett No. 438).

The coolest find was the looking glass and pouch.

The nippers are DUNLAP. The overbite nippers are Pyrene (the Fire Extinguisher maker). Check out the clever play-on-words (Pyreneer, i.e., Pioneer) branding.

My current favorite for oil filters are the pliers type where I can get access. once they are cracked loose, all is well!

Nice stuff Lug! Does the wood handled screwdriver have a brand on it? I'm developing quite a collection of decent Wood handled drivers, and maybe eventually will have some sort of semi matched "set".

Usually I usually can't find any of my oil filter wrenches when I need one. I end up grabbing a decent size pipe wrench...:wtf:

I was at that sale as well in Needham by bestrate. The wilton bullet sold for 150.00 which I though was a little high for the condition and size. I was number 5 in the door . I bought the Charles parker 974 1/2 with wrench for 80.00 and the big craftsman tool box that was in basement for 50.00. I did well there. I got there at 445. and I was number 5. go figure. I will post a pic of vise and box later tonight

Yup. It's a North Brothers YANKEE No. 85, an electricians' or so-called "cabinet" screwdriver. The GMTK had two of them: one with a 2-1/2" long blade, and another with a 5-1/2" long blade. This is the shorter. North Bros was a very old and prominent Philly screwdriver maker, bought out by Stanley - if you're not familiar.

Great finds everyone, alas I was on the road from Phoenix to Vacaville all weekend after a long sad week, but should be able to hit the Tuesday in Oakland. I need a little treasure hunting time.

It was one of the few sales with tools in the area this weekend, so I'm not surprised at how dense the crowd was. It's just as well that I didn't try to get there early, as I wasn't looking for the big ticket items. I'm glad another GJer got in on the action and am looking forward to seeing your finds.

Cheers!

You guys are doing better than I am. I got NO prospects for sales from CL... Nada, Zip, Zero...

Maybe the "for Sale" section might produce...

2nd day of the flea market, today was the normal day so all the regular vendors + plus holiday weekend vendors. Picked up theses, sockets were $20, but I really wanted the patial set of Bonney so I went for it. Socket handle appears to be a Firestone. Ell handle? Is a proto LA. Tee handle is an OTC. Small box was only a $1, but it is unmarked came with a bunch of junk I tossed and a proto socket.

Couple years back, someone on a forum was discussing his strategy for negotiating a better price on a vise which I had posted on CL.

Kind of felt funny knowing what to expect, but it was a lesson I didn't forget.

yes it is. its a #94. took a little calling to estate sale co, and that sealed the deal for me. Box was used, I did clean it up. It was loaded with snap on tools that one guy just dumped the drawers into his bag, but the box is great. I think it will be for sale as I already have a the same one, though 2 is ever enough.

That gave you total insight as to his tactics! I was upfront with my intentions to flip. The guy sent me a friend request before we met. I was not thinking of the pictures I have on my page of vise's I have done. When he seen them He had a better idea of how I flip. Even at 500 bucks there is still plenty of meat on the bone and will more than double my investment but another hundred or so lower would have been better. He has about 8 more items I want so maybe the deals will get better with a bigger package!
Thanks for the insight!

I have an earlier version of that box. Those are built heavy!

fl18guy, is it grey or hammered? it looks too clean not to have been repainted, but that may be the picture angle...

Spent more money on gas driving to tool-less garage sales that advertised tools than on actual tools this weekend. Managed to pick up a set of Snap-on 6pt crowsfeet. Pics are in my ebay link below.
