Well you asked for pictures of this old beat up stained bench, here they are.

Well, I'm going to,have and used the top, the bottom is too rough, many recesses, didn't see this as its under the drawers.

Note the rabbited slides for the drawers, this is a great example of old time woodworking.

I happen to have some denatured alcohol close by and wipe down the stained spots with a rag, I like the look of how this ended up,after wiping down.

Thinking of giving it a good sanding, maybe with a floor sander? Not to get it perfect, just to get the dry layer off and open up the grain some, and some of the marks. We were talking about wiping down with boiled linseed oil, or staining? What do you all think?
The outside strip popped off, it was loose. Look at the square nuts for the tie rods, I tightened a couple, you could hear the wood creak a little.

I think this is maple, what say you?

I'm going to mount this beast on there, somehow. Got to workout the steel frame so it clears the vise.
