Hello Everyone,
I am bad in need of some new cordless tools. Had my Ryobi stuff for a while and the batteries just don't hold enough charge to mess with. Typically I just use corded drills and saws etc so I don't have to bother with them, but that isn't very convenient. I do a considerable amount of weekend carpentry and (deer stands, duck blinds, deck building etc). Certainly not a daily carpenter but I would like a decent set that will last.
After doing a lot of searching and over thinking I believe I have decided to get into the Ridgid platform. Primary needs are the drill, impact and reciprocating saw. Not the biggest fan of cordless circular saws but could certainly benefit from them from time to time.
So my question is - Would I really notice or regret not waiting for a sale on the Gen5x kits (Drill, Impact, Circ and or reciprocating saw)? I can pick up a set (Drill, Impact, Circ) of the X4 stuff now with a 2ah battery and a 4ah for about $240 with tax. Right before I bought them though I saw the crazy sales I missed on the brushless stuff earlier this year, and it gave me pause.
I don't mind waiting a couple months if that means scoring a brushless set for the same price (plus it has the bigger saw). I don't really want to spend any more than that amount though to upgrade. So I guess the second question would be - Do you think the prices will go back down to what they were earlier this year for the Gen5x.
Sorry for the ramble lol, just wanted to make sure it made sense.
Thanks
