The GPL3T was/is down to $28.03. Good luck finding that M18 kit - probably long gone. But sure worth the hunt. The associates were probably drooling over that.

Tips for buying a floor model clearance leaf blower that is probably pennied out? Just take it to SCO? Seems like it would draw attention by not being in a box. Not sure if it has one of those security tag alarm things? I'm not even worried about getting the battery.

Wish I could've let them penny but pretty sure they wouldn't go through, picked up 5 205 pc sets and 6 100 pc sets... I don't try to profit from these I just like selling one or two to let me keep one for free... Couple of these will go to friends as well..
Also sharing cause I haven't heard of this happening before, but, the 100 pc set showed 13.03 in the pca, still scanned at $49.88 at check out, somehow there were two prices attached to the same SKU.. They said something about it going back up for another special they were running or something, either way I got them for 13.** but not sure how much longer that price will be effective

Cheers

I've bought floor model clearance leaf blowers before. Assuming it has a security tag on it with the price, just take it up to the regular check out lane and they'll scan it and remove the security tag.

Obviously, you'll want to make sure it isn't missing anything important like the fuel cap or blower extension. I did buy one that was missing the fuel cap (a Toro), but Home Depot sells Ryobi fuel caps that are identical so I also purchased the fuel cap.

Look in the overheads for the box. If you can get the barcode you have a better shot at getting it to scan and you can mix it in with other items.

My local store had several of the Graco airless paint sprayers at .03 level pricing.

The magnum x7, project painter, and true coat 360 DSP.

I also got a a Makita cordless staple gun (XTS01Z) for $45.

Not a screaming deal but the new ridgid 7 1/4 brushless battery powered miter is marked down to 299 from 399. Picked one up as I was looking for a smaller saw and it has good reviews.

its ymmv whatever you do. i would say the odds of you walking out with no questions asked with a boxless item for 1cent are low bc the sco person sees boxless and will come over to you 9/10 times.
my 2 cents: your best bet is to talk to the knowledgable person in lawn/garden. odds of you getting it for 1 cent are slim but odds of you getting it for $10 after a basic negotiation are high

Thanks everyone for the tips. I figured SCO was a no go, but this approach sounds reasonable. This HD is a little out of my way, so we'll see if it lasts.

How do I get the x7 for $98.03? Is there a secret handshake with the manager?

All the good posters were banned and the ones that weren't got pissed and left because people were posting good deals on other forums, therefore making it finding the deals a lot harder.

Best way to know what is on clearance and in stock at your store is to use the app on the Pro computer near the pro checkout counters.

For more detailed instructions check here:

Your experience will vary wildly based on the staff at your particular store. I had someone start screaming at me that I was a "thief" and a spy from another store. I called corporate about it and the manager of the store called me and apologized and offered me 50$ off my next purchase.

It will also really depend on your store. My store is the clearance lightbulb capital of the world so there are tons of deals on LED bulbs but never really any tool deals sadly. Give it a try and if you see anything good on clearance take a picture and post it here because even if it's out of stock at your store, someone else might be able to grab one at their store.

No go - they searched the SKU on the handheld price checker and couldn't find it. Manager started hunting around for the box, but couldn't find it. Offered it for $50 off the price of a new one, assuming he could find the box and accessories. Decided not to push it.

I've bought a few out of box items like this. No, you're not going to get it for next to nothing, but I've bought several items for about 60-70% off their normal list price. Picked up a M18 Fuel Brushless 1/4" impact for $40 this way.
