Dan, not sure but it does look like it:lol_hitti.

According to S, there was some chatter about Gerard having a shop desk that color.

Now I'm hooked on that style vise. It just never ends.

I do have a pickup truck load to take to auction, gotta make room for my new lusts.:lol_hitti

Just wanted to post up my estate sale find. It's a CM combo sander on a CM base and with belt guard. I spotted it on the sale site and just had to have. It's not complete, but I have a complete unit already. Now no need to build a stand.

Picked up a few other items, 18" diamond adjustable, real heavy wilton c clamp.

Now to relax with a beer.

Hey Shorty, you missed a couple of my boxes. I hope you still have the color code so I'll be able to match up the ones you did get painted.

Looks like a good score on the CM combo CB.

Here's my latest addition to the shop.

Another Vidmar! This one needs a little help, it's racked and missing a few drawers, but the slides and bearings are in good shape. I'll take a shot at squaring it back up and some welding to hold in place. Not sure about the missing drawers, may make some slide out shelves.

Alright, here's the real addition. A 60" wide 6 drawer Vidmar. Already on casters. Another member ( a OCD individual who can't possibly own a box like this because the drawers don't line up with its shop mates) sent me a link a while back and I've been plotting on getting it ever since. This box should hold the contents of two legal size file cabinets ( 4 drawer each) and a large Formica cabinet that house my power tools and should have a couple drawers left over.

It's 50" high, so it'll be a good spot for some small bins to sit on. I'll go through and clean/lube the bearings, tweak a couple frames and it'll be ready for paint.

Picked up some extra casters
ac9e08f2dcf055e8ab6be6342b255205.jpg
Happen to ask if they had any spare parts, and he took me over to these, 15 brand new handles, $ 1 each!
8dacbba31b4087534f669283320c3ed5.jpg

I paid $ 550 for the blue one, $ 50 for the green one, which I think I can fix.

The company is a recycler that buys military surplus. I spent almost two hours there just looking around. Lots of neat stuff.

Man, this OCD guy passed up on that box? He must really be OCD or something. LOL. That is a really nice Vidmar and with 60" drawers can probably fit a lot of stuff. The green one at that price more my speed and price tag. Should be interesting what you do with that one. I say you make a big bulk drawer on bottom using another drawer and just add some 4 sides. That would keep the look and be functional.

Nice score on the boxes cb. I too share taumac's speed and price tag. I'd been more likely to pass on the $500 box. But I'm sure it is well worth it.

Craig, I'm glad to see you got out of that military surplus place with such a small hole in your wallet. I have a hard time paying more for a box than the contents are worth. You obviously have some valuable stuff to store in those Vidmars. Well done sir!

It's worth it in the way it'll replace multiples of other cabinets.

Bob, more about the type of box to add to shop line up and how I anticipate it will help with function of shop than what's actually I in it. I'm just one step closer to to a practicle and working layout.

Thanks guys.

By my standards your shop was already pretty functional. At least you have room to work. But I just know that I would have bought them too.

Here's a few pics now that it's unloaded. That electric hoist has paid for itself many times already. I just was able to get box high enough before I ran out of lift, had to get wife to pull truck out while casters slowly rolled box out of truck.

Don't look like this one got much heavy use.
3a706a1cdfc6ed2bba0a0ea37e4cb8de.jpg

I had choice of two boxes, I picked this one as it had more dividers.

I need to clean out, lube bearings and tweak some of the frames and give it a paint job to get it in service.

That is a nice box CB. And I doubt if the contents gave it much of a workout. Hose clamps, gloves, etc. Kind of a waste for a box like that. And I take back what I said, I would spend $500 on a box like that.

My son made the same comment when he looked at the pictures, must be nice to use a box like that for feathers.

Well, there's a identical one still there, what's one more box headed north?:lol_hitti

In other doings this weekend, I unloaded the tall Vidmar. It was a little bit of a challenge as I ran out of lift. It's a 57" tall box in the back of a full size truck and my roof just isn't that high. I rigged up with the best length strap that I had, used a Johnson bar as a spreader, had to use a shackle to connect the bar to lift hook, which cost me the 1/2" I needed to freely clear the bed of the truck.
8201545bc2874e263cfcba3b214b3223.jpg

So I moved cab as far back on truck as I dared, lifted till lift shut off and walked cab off truck. I moved truck a few times during this process.
907fb78441066b14e4e1f20ceb5968af.jpg
Finally on the ground.
b188f2bbfb998b368c9838e54ddc1b4c.jpg

It would of been easier if I had the wife help, but what fun would that of been? Besides, I didn't want to stop her from carrying tree cuttings to burn pile.

This cabinet is racked pretty good, I'm going to take a shot at straightening out.

Here's some property projects that are keeping me from shop time.

We are replacing perimeter fence on two sides of our property, about 1100' worth. We have a weed tree called Brazilian pepper tree, it is a invasive tree that grows like a weed but into the size of small trees and is a pain. Well, over the years it has grown into the fence lines, the fence is over 30 years old and needs replacing anyway, these trees just add to the task.

I have to remove all the wire and have a land clearing guy come in and mulch the trees and pull stumps.

So this is what I did on Sat.

6542f12d5f78f53c35d1ad78d6309a7f.jpg

I did get a cordless grinder out of the deal. Using a cut off wheel on the wire works wonders.

I hate to be a Monday morning quarterback, but would removing your tailgate or dropping the straps on it have given you the extra half inch? My gate is about an inch higher at the lip than the floor of the bed.

I was thinking about letting the air out of the tires.

The truck sets fairly level, no real diffrence once on gate. If I remember, it actullay was a tad higher when all the way back.

Andrew, I thought about the air but just didn't do for some reason, I guess it wouldn't for good pictures:lol_hitti

I figured I'd let you all know things going on that has been keeping me from the shop.

This last weekend our daughter graduated from the local state college with her Bachelors degree. So with family and cooking, that pretty much took care of this last weekend.

I've started on my perimeter fence replacement project. My son and I removed 1100' of tree embedded wire fence, barb wire that had to be pulled with atv in places, f***ing vines, you can't see the wire laying on ground, put it out of the way so we don't trip on it, f trip so bad I hit the ground like someone pushed me, pissed as **** and want to fight, did I tell you about the vines, with thorns ?
Never again , flamethrower :flamethro:flamethro the minute I see anything sprouting along this new fence.

I think we wore out a pair of Knipex mini bolt cutters, but they worked great. My new cordless Ridgid grinder did well too!

Hope to get some time in once the clearing and fence guy get started.

I told you, start with flamethrower then the wire would be easy to pull. I guess with all the woods next door, my idea wasn't the greatest. Safety first!

Lots done today. Clearing guy will finish tomorrow, my last physical thing to do is cut up a couple oak trees.( saving that wood for my rib cooking)

Guys had two skidsteers on tracks, one with the grinder. That thing is wicked, spits out chunks of wood 50' away. They ground down everything to the stumps and then pulled them with the other machine.

Here's a few pictures.

All clearing done tomorrow, pick up the last couple items of fence material and I might have time to hit a sale or two Friday.

Video of machine eating it up.

Who would have guessed that there would be an unplanned GJ meeting in Ft Myers! It was great seeing a familiar face down at the FGCU graduation. Congrats to all the students and the people that got them through it.

It looks like you have plenty going on there. Keep up the good work!

Mark, it was great to run into you there, wish we had more time to chat. It was a long day just with one kid, you had two! That does it for us, both kids done.

Replacing 1100' of perimeter fence.

Oh man. You need to get one of those. Can you imagine the fun and aggression you could get out on one of those. Place is looking great from the last time I saw it. I didn't even recognize it.

I'd get bored sitting that for any amount of time. The guys did a great job considering how much was removed. What blew my mind was the amount of tree debris left on ground after grinding. The only thing hauled off was the stumps.

Wow I would never had guessed there was a pasture on the other side of that fence. Looking good.

Not to bad of view, we're thankful that the neighbors shed is mostley blocked by overgrown trees.:lol_hitti
