Well, it has been a little while since visiting my own thread. Shame on me!

The weekend before Thanksgiving is a very large swap meet and had a spot reserved to sell some things. The meet is held at an old military airfield which is nice because of the concrete tarmac. I was going to go up Thursday afternoon but decided a warm bed and sleeping next to my sweetie was better than an air mattress in a cold trailer.

The meet is about 1 1/2 hr drive so I headed out at 5am, had a nice drive, stop for breakfast and made it when the gates opened at 7 am. I had a couple of benches and carts I really wanted to sell along with a lot of medium and small sized things. A friend who is a Ford enthusiast had some stuff for sale also. Anyone looking for a complete continental kit for a 60 Ford?

Two nights in the trailer wasn't too bad. Camping, Clampett's style. Friday was beautiful so it wasn't too cold at night, however Saturday was mostly overcast and windy and the temps dropped at night. I did take a generator with a half a tank of gas. Do you know a generator will run out of gas right before the coldest part of the night? :(

By Sunday morning, I had sold a lot of my medium things and the neighbor had packed up Saturday night. This gave me the opportunity to really display the benches and carts. I had a lot more bench lookers but no buyers. Sunday's attendance is always sparse. All in all it was well worth the trip. I came home with some tools and supplies, two new radial trailer tires and some cash revenue. :D

While at the swap meet, my brother came down and started on our Mom's driveway rehab. He cleaned out some lose asphalt at the garage pad and a couple of potholes then filled it in with some bag asphalt patch. It's not my asphalt I didn't know they had DIY bags. :bounce:
Thanksgiving weekend my job was to fill all the large spider cracks with the asphalt crack sealer. The drive looks a lot better but still needs some work. While there, I also hung some pictures for her.

I finally got a little QST. I installed the new Vidmar handles on the Equipto cabinet. Since they were different brands, I had to drill holes (3x) for each handle. Makes for pretty good transformation.
The ceiling joist into the HF44 is one of the reason for the move. :scared:

I also started transferring things out of my HF44. I think the Equipto is going to work out really nice since half of the cabinet is still empty. :)

Looking good Shorty, you look lite on the screwdrivers though:D.

I can't wait to get my tools transferred to my 45" Vidmar .

Yeah Craig but it looks like he's made up for it in the file department. I'm wondering why anyone needs that many files. Maybe he just likes to keep flat bastards tucked away.

Looks good Shorty. I don't know many people that have Vidmars and HF boxes mixed together. It proves you're not partial.:headscrat

When he said something about bastards in his shop, I thought he was talking about me!
You should see the sweetie he has stashed in his tool room:D

A lot of files, I'll post up a picture of mine tonight of my overflowing drawer. I definitely need to thin my drawer out.

I'm married so not much screwing around for me. :)

I have a full set of screw drivers on the service cart, a set in the woodworking area, and I haven't finished consolidating everything.

I didn't know I had that many files either. Joys of getting things consolidated and organized. :D

I know all about files and screwdrivers. Word of warning: don't leave them alone in a drawer too long. They start multiplying. I probably have 50 or more files that should really go away. Not sharp, or just simple duplicates I will never use. But will it happen? No! I will go to a sale and end up with more. Or maybe having put it in writing I might thin down the file drawers. :scared:

A nice new looking file or screwdriver for $.50 just kinda hard to pass up.
Maybe we should start storing them in rubbers so they don't multiply!:bounce:

Hell I never bought a file in my life and I have a drawer filled with them.

One day I got pissed off and zipped tied them into brands.

Drawers look good Shorty. You can never have enough screwdrivers. I have too many and even the bad ones I got for free I always think to myself I can use those to make special lathe tools for a one time job.

looking great shorty..

Hows the new drill going I se.e Andy has brought a replacement..

Cheers

Not to good. Still covering the work bench. Where your to-do is "scheduled and complete 1/2 the projects in 1/2 a weekend" my list goes more like "start have of all projects and take a 1/2 year to complete."

I will be jumping on the DP rather quickly through.

Thank you. Not near as nice as work that you do but its functional. I have a bunch of off brand tools I was going to trash but like you said, they make great tools to chop, cut or weld into specialty tools. On side note I'm trying to make room for a nice Olds convertible. :bounce:

Oh looking forward to pictures of this. Does it have a 455? Or the small 350 like the one I take care of.

Sounds like some horse trading coming up!

Also sounds like Shorty may need a car hauler to take WOC north:D

You need a project IN your shop Shorty, rather than A shop project. We all do.

I fully agreed. Maybe I'm dragging out the shop project to keep from doing any projects in the shop.:(

More Honey-are-you-happy projects. Several months ago (maybe years by now) I built a terrace deck. Well, I finally got around to finishing the bench. I probably should be called Speedy not Shorty. Maybe next year, I'll get to the stairs. I also put up our outdoor Christmas decorations.

Since learning about barndominiums, I have been toying with designs. Wife and I want to downsize and simplify plus get out of condo neighborhood. Since I have an aging mom that may live with us, the shop would start off as a mother-in-law suite. Temporary shop would probably be another shipping container which then could be used as a garden shed.

Big thumbs up on getting the bench finished. It looks great by the way. And how on earth did you handle getting ALL those Christmas decorations put up? You must be exhausted.:willy_nil:D

Great progress on the deck. You've done plenty for a few years, you don't want to elevate expectations.

I like the house plans, especially like the guest bedroom with the sliding door entrance from the porch. Guests get some privacy, and they can step on to the porch to take a leak. Very green concept: save water and water the shrubs simultaneously! Very clever:thumbup:

shorty your bench looks a treat, well done..

Now for those steps..

Decorations look great..

I love your plans as well, what is your time line?

Regards

The bench was some serious work. If you had sent the WW-GJBD rear deck steps with the DeWalt drill I'd be finished. :lol_hitti

I like how the front bedroom near the porch must have a secret entrance. ;)

Concept looks cool though.

GB.

Extremely exhausted. Took me all of an hour to build that light show.

That must be the guest bedroom. " if you find a way in, you can stay" guess if we are invited to stay, bring a saws all.:lol_hitti

If you are familiar with Hotel California, "You can check-out any time you like, But you can never leave!" That's what I'm going for.
I forgot the door going from the front bedroom to the hall because my mind was on the shop portion. ;) I kinda like the idea of "you can stay, oops no door. The hotel is down the road."

Being that my wife's family from West Virginia, they'd probably would use the porch to take a leak.

Y'all come back next year for the stair install.

Ok, i thought I was bad. LOL!!! I think for now on we gonna change name from Shorry to High Speed. LOL.

I showed this to the wife to get me out of trouble for not finishing painting our master bathroom yet. I think I earned 6 more month time to finish. [emoji1303]
