Well, it has been a little while since visiting my own thread. Shame on me!
The weekend before Thanksgiving is a very large swap meet and had a spot reserved to sell some things. The meet is held at an old military airfield which is nice because of the concrete tarmac. I was going to go up Thursday afternoon but decided a warm bed and sleeping next to my sweetie was better than an air mattress in a cold trailer.
The meet is about 1 1/2 hr drive so I headed out at 5am, had a nice drive, stop for breakfast and made it when the gates opened at 7 am. I had a couple of benches and carts I really wanted to sell along with a lot of medium and small sized things. A friend who is a Ford enthusiast had some stuff for sale also. Anyone looking for a complete continental kit for a 60 Ford?
Two nights in the trailer wasn't too bad. Camping, Clampett's style. Friday was beautiful so it wasn't too cold at night, however Saturday was mostly overcast and windy and the temps dropped at night. I did take a generator with a half a tank of gas. Do you know a generator will run out of gas right before the coldest part of the night?
By Sunday morning, I had sold a lot of my medium things and the neighbor had packed up Saturday night. This gave me the opportunity to really display the benches and carts. I had a lot more bench lookers but no buyers. Sunday's attendance is always sparse.
All in all it was well worth the trip. I came home with some tools and supplies, two new radial trailer tires and some cash revenue.
