Nice little grab bag, corndoggeh. Looks like today, you were the windshield and not the bug!

...
Even came with a key! I love original color and years of patina on it. Many of the drawers need help. ...
Nice, Squash!
Goodness I remember the long thread about that very box and no one knew what it was. I can't find the thread.

Now you'll need to find the matching edition of Machinery's Handbook to fit the drawer. That's always an adventure

3bay and Chopper. Based solely on the little drill bit index color matched that hooks on the tabs and it's complete set of Craftsman marked bits, I'm thinking this drill came in this box. There is also an oddly bent piece that I'm wondering may have held the drill in. I'll have to mess with it. It's on the right side in the pic. Haven't found anything with Google yet.
. Any help out there?BlueBomber- YOU ****! That Huot top box is really cool!
The only thing I can report for the day is my rear bumper found a tree while I was out plowing a new account. Now I will have to build or buy a new off road bumper.

That's a mechanic's box, not a machinist's box. that drawer is way bigger than MHB.
MBH coem up fairly regularly - I have 6-8 copies (only one dupe)

Nice trade Topop. I think a tool like that makes for a cool conversation piece!
I went to one estate sale shortly after it opened hoping to miss the craziness, but still waited in line in the cold and rain for an hour while they slowly let a few in at a time. I didn't mind, it wasn't billed as a tool sale, and I knew people were there because the place was jam packed from top to bottom with vintage everything. Toys, games, clothes, albums, and all sorts of collectibles.
I had fun talking to the guys and watching everybody walk out with things that didn't interest me. Special thanks to the lady who came out with a white bra in her hand with a $5 price tag on it, and the guys who bought the old artificial Christmas tree, the Buffalo Bills sweat shirts, and the toy Flintstone Mobile (okay, that looked kind of cool) . My kind of people for saving the tools for us latecomers!
Well, I kept wondering was the waiting worth it. I finally got in, and the first thing I saw when entering the basement tool room (woohoo)...was the red socket box. Good thing, it got real real crowded fast. The tools weren't great, just a small hodge podge.
The finds: 1/2" mostly Fleet socket set
2- 1/2" Craftsman RHFT'S
Some Armstrong machinist jacks

I am the same way. And rightly so! (Don't laugh... oh, eff that, go ahead and laugh if you want..., I think a contest would be fun. Pick a day. Someone picks an obscure vintage tool, but it's not announced until 10 minutes before dawn. Everyone has to look for that particular tool that day. First one who checks in with one wins! Dare I say like an adult scavenger hunt. Problem is we'd all be on our honor not to just go down the basement or out to the shop if it happens to be an obscure tool we already have!I seem to always be most proud of the hidden treasures I find.

This the back of the box. The key chain has the crown logo on one side and regular sears logo on the other.
