Man, I want to buy that just to see if I could manage to get it back among the living!

Blsnelling, you've made up for lost time.---I believe you got it bad.![]()
What can you guys tell me about these? Do these have any real value, or are they "collectable"?
Just got me a holy grail unicorn today!!!!!!!!! Reed 4C!!!!!

Nope VISEs, never seen one of those.---It looks like it is staggering drunk, but I love it.---Hollands is the only US. off-set brand that I know of except Wilton, and they had a few made in Australia by the Dawn Co..---There may be more but I just can't recall any.

Bisnelling: Glad to see the"twins" made it home.
They look to be in good company.
I think that part of Ohio is starting to TILT...
There all in good hands, so I will look forward to seeing them again when you get them all cleaned up.
Let me know when you need some more to keep you busy!![]()
screenshotBcom - Congrats on the 4C it is one of my favorites. At one time I had 14 of them but sold some of the newer ones. There were a lot of them sold in the refinery and oil business as well as natural gas plants. Every plant I have ever been to has had reed "C" series vises.
Thanks. Im having an affair with her right now. She looks so good and moves so well. All she needed was a little lube and she moves like new! Gives me goosebumps just looking at it! THANKS AGAIN JOHN FOR FINDING HER FOR ME!![]()
Heres the holy grail i just picked up today! Special shout out to my friend John for finding it for me! Beautiful Reed 4C. Great shape. Jaws are great. Nothing broken and all intact!

Congrats Bcom, that is a definite top 5 must haves for most vise fanatics. For myself, could be number one.![]()
Thanks! I doubt ill try to restore this one. It looks just great without a resto. May just remove the surface rust down to bare metal and let her be naked and show off her original beauty![]()
I've seen a number of early (Meadville, Pa) Yosts that look just like a Hollands or Reed from the same era, and the Meadville isn't far from Erie.
Reed 33 and Yost 33....awfully similar if you ask me, and more than what I'd call a coincidence. Reed also sold this line on a swivel with the center lock...trying to find a picture of a 33. Of course I already have a picture of a 34, and can't find a 33 now!

Here's the 34 to compare the swivel base:

BCOM: i can imagine you were tired if you were carrying around your Reed 4c from here to there. nice find and i bet that drained the vise budget a bit, but that might be maybe the best big vise made prior to 1960 or ever.
if i don't get a stand under mine soon i'm going to buy a hydraulic lift table if i have to move it many more times. it's a BEAST!!
