Craftsman PM5875 75' x 5/8" Garden Hose

prod_1652750812.

I have a few of those hoses. They're well made for sure, but at the same time they're heavy, stiff and a pain to use sometimes.

Item # 00952165000P Model # 52165
Craftsman 10 pc. Impact Grade Bolt-Out™ Damaged Bolt/Nut Remover

spin_prod_206768301.

Apparently TURBO socket OEM...very high quality and USA...FWIW also relabeled by SK and truck brands at much higher cost

(also, these are not IRWIN relabels)

I have used that set for awhile.. It has proven to be a valuable asset

I have some USA Socket sets from about 2005-2006, they have the sizes etched on the sockets. I have the 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 sets (Sockets Only) all 6 point, all like new hardly ever used.

Wouldn't mind to try and sell but wonder if it would be worth it. I don't just want to give them away. They are excellent like new tools, with no rust and no engravings. I just use another set as my go to set, and these are just sitting in drawers on Hansen socket holders.

I have both Metric and SAE, in Shallow & Deep, all 6 point. Any idea what a fair selling price would be? Again sockets only, no ratchets, etc.

^ Selling prices are all over the place on Ebay right now. In part it depends on the production code stamped on them. Highest prices being paid now are for the older " =V= " and " -V- " series, followed (in order) by " VV ", " VΛ ", " G " (and all of its variants), and " EE ".
Best way to try to get a handle on it is to look through the "sold" listings on Ebay over a period of time (ignoring the anomalies.)

If I understand correctly; that is twelve matching complete socket sets. This sounds too nice to split up into smaller sales.. How about putting them in the GJ classifieds, and ask for a best offer.. Graduation is coming soon, talk about a neat gift.

A few years back, I bought two separate boxes of Etched NOS 3/4 drive 12 point metric sockets that together gave Me a set of 15 matching sockets.. These were bought from two different eBay parties, and the combined cost came to $60 delivered.. I feel that I stole them for that price, possibly due to them being "half" sets. I know that I wouldn't sell them for that price.

Kind of makes Me feel like a vulture shopper  In reverse of My encounter; I would frown upon splitting up Your group if selling it. I would hope that someone would appreciate getting Your group of matching sets.

What are the size range of Your sets?

^ I guess I wasn't really paying close attention there.

SK-Mike, if you have that many complete sets, and they are matching sets (production codes all match), they will be worth far more as one package than they would be broken into separate sets (if you're thinking about selling them on Ebay.)

Just my two cents.

My idea is that this thread be for posting craftsman tools that are still made here in USA. Post pic and part number if possible. Purchased a week before Christmas. Prybar set.
I was surprised to see made in USA on it. I'm sure other tools even if few and far between, are still made here. Please add to this thread.

Those appear to have a strike cap on the end?

The earlier version (no strike cap) made by Wilde, I don't think I ever saw them as low as $10 for the 3-piece set.

This newer set (I'm assuming made by Wilde) is a new one on me - hadn't seen those.

Ok, I must've been thinking of somebody that weed about $8.00 in points [emoji19]

You might have been thinking of back in Dec when there was a "New non pro Craftsman pry bars with striker" thread posted they were $20 and just happened to be right when Sears had blessed me with $10 in surprise points...

Looks a lot like my trusty old set of Craftsman pry bars except with the addition of a strike cap. LUV that "USA" on the handle.

Thanks for the heads-up about these. If they want to give me $10 off what's already a really good deal, I just couldn't pass it up.

Truth be told I've not been all that impressed with the set even for just $10. The textured handles feel very cheap and the tips on the prybars are prone to chipping with even mild use and I've not made use of the striker caps. They are no way near as nice as the old red handle Craftsman set without striking caps that I've used for decades now.

I got the set of three bars for 17.99 and had a coupon for 10 off 25. When I bought the 36" bar too for 11.99 my total out the door for four pry bars was 21.00 and change. That's not a bad deal for USA made tools even if they aren't the best quality.

After watching all the tools that went off shore so far I have no confidence in any being made in USA. However, Stanley Black & Decker might be better about keeping them here in the USA but we'll have to see how well things go.

I'm with you on this. I stopped by Sears to check out these new style pry bars when they first came out. The handles feel cheap but I guess the rough texture is less likely to slip. I like my old styles handles better, just feel higher quality.

At less than 20 bucks for the set they aren't bad. They look even better when compared to the cheap ones at Menards, Harbor Freight, etc. and they are made in the USA. Of course they aren't a premium brand but they aren't priced that way either.

I'll need one of these eventually.

Can anyone confirm they are indeed US made and anyone here have any experience with them?

Thanks.

Bought mine about six weeks ago. Made in the USA by Lisle. Quality is very good. Heavy duty.

So have you chipped the tip? I am just curious how do you know "the tips on the prybars are prone to chipping with even mild use"?

Also, do you know if there is an alternative here for the approximately same price? I do not care about COO, just want to get the best bang for the buck. Again, just trying to learn here, if these are prone to chipping, maybe I should buy something else. I am in the market for the longer pry bar - 36in model.

I have both sets, the new and the old ones, and no complain so far. I have used mine on different things that I do not think was mild use, and have not break/chipped the tip, but maybe I have not abuse them enough.

If you've had good luck with both sets, why not stick with either of them when buying a 36 inch bar? That's my thinking, anyway. The less expensive set is made Wilde and the more expensive set is made by Mayhew, with both versions offering a 36 inch bar for $25-$32 online price as of today.

I got a Lisle seal puller from Amazon last month and it was made in USA. The ones I've seen at our local Sears are made in china.

Only used the larger one in the three piece set one time. This is after the first use 5 minutes after arriving home from the store, and I wasn't doing anything especially hard with it...

That is even the one with the strike cap. Ouch!

I have the older plain ones and have used them as if there was a strike cap. No issues yet.. not even on the handle. :lol_hitti

Have you exchanged it yet?

I'd be curious to see if the new piece has the same issue, or if this is a fluke.

My Hometown store had some stock of the old non-strike cap sets that were Mahew. So they are still floating around if you prefer Mahew vs Wilde.

The red hard handled models, both older glossy and newer textured with strike caps, are both made by Wilde.

The Professional models are made by Mayhew.

Agree. I am planning stick with CF 36in, but I am also open to other brands. But when a member here said the product may has problem, I listen and make sure my investment is still sound

Whoa.... thanks for sharing @WWheeler. I have use the larger and the mid size ones from both of my 2 sets, and they still looks good. The smaller ones are just too small, so it never get used. I am no professional, but they have been used from fixing cars to demo work around our properties.

Haven't exchanged it. Not sure I will unless/until it gets worse or the others in the set likewise chip if/when I put them to use.

It has been a while since I have gone through a Sears tool department. The last time I looked things over I found the Craftsman screwdrivers, punches, chisels, hammers, adjustable wrenches, plastic socket rails, and pliers were still made in the USA.

During the past several years there have been a lot of Craftsman tools to leave the US shore for the APEX Asia Group. There was a recent statement made that said Sears will continue to sell the tools that are made offshore.
