Good progress Shorty. I am assuming those are Olds' valve covers you have on the wall with the Edelbrock sign.

Looking good Shorty, always nice to rediscover floor space.
I remeber back 6 years ago when I was able to sort my fasteners and put them in my first Vidmar.
I can't wait to when I get to the point of getting some bins and doing it again.

Thanks. I'm trying. My list of wood projects is growing for some reason so need to get busy.
Yes they are Olds covers. Good eye.

You seem to be getting the hang of both shop organization AND cleaning. According to Andy's Rules of Order--moving stuff from one place to another constitutes "cleaning". So now your shop is organized and clean.

Thanks for the comments. Yes slowly but surely. I was able to sweep under all the stuff before putting it back. Following Andy's Rules, I'm a grand master.

Thanks. The goal of the gerarded Andy shuffle was to at least make things accessible. Mission accomplished. Except mom's stuff filled some of the void. f939915fe13c93d26cf8072beb25788b.jpg

I bet I can predict when that trailer will be emptied..................

Right after you hook it up to your truck to use.

I'm experienced in that, I call it just in time usage.:D

HELLO! HELLO! ANYBODY HERE?

Oh, there I am.

Not much going on in the shop the month of June. My better half and I spent a week in Narragansett RI with my old Air Force buddies. While there, we took the train into NYC and spent the night. I didn't get any shop stuff but I did buy the wife a tool box, L. Vuitton Never Full bag for our anniversary. More shop time for me.:D

Trying to clean up a little, I grabbed a shelf that was in the trailer (post1014). I made it numerous years ago for my mom to display her paintings. With her recent move, she gave it back. My dim light went off inside and I realized I had a perfect spot for it.

Looking for quickie clean up projects and decided on the tape storage was a good candidate. I was hanging rolls of tape on long pegboard hooks. I always needed the roll in back and wanted a different solution. An idea I got from Bret (bj383ss), I quickly made this little shelf out of an old printer stand. Please overlook my laser straight band saw cuts.

If you remember my diagram I drew up after having Gerard pay a visit (post 969). The gerarded project involves locating all the storage shelves to the front mezzanine. Well to start it, I need to convert some of my metal shelves from 1'x4' to 2'x4'. I have more of the 1' deep lateral brackets and wanted all the shelves to be 2' deep. First step was to gather up all the 1' brackets and weld them up. A little primer will keep them from rusting.

Another clean up project was getting everything out of this bin so I can sell it. It had a bunch of posts with a fixture ball on the end (used as a jig) and some other stuff. I got the bin emptied and ended up with some cool SS clamps.

About time you showed up. And actually did something.

But honestly those little projects really help in the big picture.

After the vacation to RI with it's 75* low humidity weather, I wasn't looking forward to working up in the mezzanines when it is 95* and high humidity.

I had purchased a portable room AC to use in the office of the shop but never committed to cutting a hole in an exterior wall to exhaust the AC. The portable AC served double duty last September when the hurricane knocked out the house power.

While cleaning up and working on the other small projects, I heard a familiar sound. I had another brain fart. Instead of cut a hole, why not put a piece of plywood in door frame. Eureka! Its a metal frame so magnets will hold it in place and I had a repurposed sheet of 3/8 plywood. Getting the measurements, I only had to trim two sides by a 1/4 inch. It's a snug fit but one corner needs a magnetic to hold it in place. The saved face frame from the kitchen cabinet I disassembled was the perfect thickness for the exhaust adapter. The adapter is a snug fit but I added the lock for added insurance. Someday I'll need to paint the plywood.

I now have AC in the office whenever I want. It will come in handy the next couple of days.

Hey Andrew, thanks for stopping in. To be honest, I have been waiting for you-know-who to show up and help me with his "plan". I got tired of waiting. :D

I am not sure how good his plans are. If they were really good he wouldn't have to keep coming up with new ones.
Anyway. I think he wore out his phone a couple of days ago.

You are a bold man, Shorty. This N Florida heat has driven me inside to look for projects. So far I have found napping with the kitties and added it to the must do list. I am sure cooler times are ahead.

In the morning I go out to the garage and turn on the air conditioner and coffeemaker. While the coffee is brewing I turn on the air conditioner in the shop (remote switch). By the time I've checked my e-mail and GJ in the office, the garage and shop are cool and I can comfortably procrastinate my unfinished projects. The 100-foot walk from the garage to the shop reminds me why I avoid unnecessary outdoor projects in South Florida's early summer/summer/late summer months.

[edit] I do work outside during our 4th (tourist) season when the license plates change color.

Hell, I can't even get going on my own garage yet alone take on another garage. Hell, seems to be getting a lot more done than me. It's event hot to even go outside and stare at the garage.

LOL, that's so funny because today I decided I'm not changing the layout in garage until I move. LOL.

The funny part is I'm good at others places and I give general idea how I think shop layout would work best. It's a totally different when it's your own garage and working out every little detail.
