COOL thanks for the info Mike - I just checked out your garage build thread and I am impressed! Great to see what the drops should look like and I love the air system you installed. I've been debating what to do about that myself and your pics look great!

I was hoping to avoid a loop air system - just do to the size of the building. Thats a lot of pipe.

Here's a shot of my new saw...can't wait to fire it up and do some work.

The Jointer isn't set up yet. I picked it up with my truck and had to take the head off the base. I'd need to get some help setting it on the base - maybe. :D

That looks like a great tablesaw! Nothing like a precision woodcutting machine to make life easy :)

I am curious how the mobile base works with those outboard support legs tho...the base I got with my PM66 tablesaw has a huge roller frame but the outboard legs nest in a pocket at the far end. I am not totally sure that design is better though because of the extra-long wheelbase, it takes a lot of "arcs" to steer it on any direction especially in a smaller space.

I can see the nice daylight in your shop, that's a great benefit!

Thanks ! I got the industrial mobile base specifically because it lifts the entire saw up, including the table extension. It also has swivel casters all around - so it moves very easily in any direction. The saw is a the professional cabinet saw - so I had to get a base conversion kit for the industrial base...just a few small things to replace to fit the smaller cabinet.

Yeah the garage doors are awesome, so glad I went with the glass doors. Tons of light and it keeps bright.

Sunday update: This week is supposed to be a big week. The last section of sand finish concrete is supposed to be poured. The asphalt driveway parking lot is also supposed to be done.

The shop's office and gym / living area was finished trimmed out and needs to be painted. Looks like we'll get the toilet set and cabinets are in production - but I don't know how close they are to being done. I figured I'd cobble together a temporary sink for the shop area - It's a unistrut frame and a small Keg cut in half - I bought that on Etsy - (but they don't make'm anymore. kinda screwed up design.)

I also got the keg urinal ready to be mounted. That's also an Etsy purchase!

I cleared out some space for the first few New Age cabinets from Costco. I have a 14 piece set - but not sure if they're going to live in the shop or the house garage.

Gratuitous shot of the saw and Jointer. Still don't have power to it, but I did meet with sparky on Friday!

And finally, I had time to cut and mount some strut to the wall for some lumber storage. It's in the space right by the jointer.

I hate thieves - Had a brake in last night and F'rs stole a ton of power tools. I may have to shut this thread down - as the thieves got info from somewhere.

That f-ing *****! My house has been robbed twice, so I can feel your pain. When I built my shop the only windows are in the top section of my overhead doors. I'd love to have the sunshine, but glass is just as bad as an open door to thieves.
I even planted evergreens strategically so if the doors are open you can't see what's inside from the road.

That *****. I'm not sure it was the result of your thread though... if you're in a more remote area, the locals find out when something is being built. They talk, then some come out to see what's there... especially teenagers. Happened to my folks years ago when they built their house way off a main highway in a 3 acre lot. Three guys 17-22 broke in about 4 days before my folks were going to officially move in. They stole power tools from my dad, the GC, and the finish carpenter out of the garage. My dad only had dial-up back then and has never been on here... teenagers and young men are opportunistic. A house and shop under construction is an easy target.

Yeah I'm sure it was tweaker meth heads. Possibly even connected to some subcontractors. Two very specific groups around here are notorious for construction thefts.

Here's a list of what was taken. THey had access to A LOT more.

Ryboi Drill press
Dewalt track saw
Dewalt Metal cutting circular saw 18v, 2 batteries and a charger
Ryobi one + reciprocating saw 18v
Ridgid reciprocating saw - corded version.
Paint spray gun
Dewalt cordless drill + 4 batteries and charger
Ryobi cordless crown stapler
Ryobi cordless finish nailer
Ryobi cordless brad nailer
Ryobi cordless impact driver
Milwaukee M12 cordless ratchet
Milwaukee M12 Drill driver
Milwaukee M12 light
Milwaukee charger and 4 batteries
Cat LED light
Ryobi cordless drill 0ne +
Ryobi radio charger unit with USB
Dewalt screw driver cordless, 2 batteries and a charger
Ryobi One + batteries - (8 of them - 3 of which were the big 4.0 batteries) and 2 chargers.
Pelican 1500 case
Ryobi Biscuit jointer - corded.
Reciprocating saw blades - (a big package of metal and wood blades) 4 new pruning blades.
Boxes of finish nails, brads and crown staples.
Ryobi corded Hammer drill - and 1/2 concrete bit
Tap and Die kit
Roto Zip saw kit

Wow, that definitely seems like a meth related theft... Looks like they grabbed odd stuff. I wouldn't think the Ryobi would bring nearly as much cash on resale as other stuff, so with limited space, I would have only grabbed the DeWalt, Milwaukee and any higher end stuff I could get my hands on. But, I'm also not on drugs...

And I was wondering if it could be tied to a sub-contractor mole.

In my parents case, it was just opportunist teens/young men. And they were caught trying to pawn a very specialized tool from the finish carpenter so the pawn shop knew it was stolen since they had been tipped off.

Is there a bright side with the insurance? I have 100% replacement on my household goods due to a couple of riders that come with the age of our house and an umbrella policy. We had an ice storm and lost power for a couple of days. The adjuster asked how much food we lost out of the freezer or fridge. I looked at him funny, then he said we had 100% loss coverage on the food in our fridge and freezer because it was a natural disaster. I laughed and said, no losses, but it was good to know.

In my search to replace my tools I discovered that Milwaukee has some cool stuff - including the Tick - which you can place on all your expensive stuff - and track it with google maps.

The app - One Key - gives you a database to log all your tools, serial numbers, and photos...really slick and easy. I'm replacing everything I can with milwaukee stuff.

Quick shop updates... tools are slowly being replaced, and have a new home.

I finally had time to set up my Maxline/rapid air pipe - well at least part of it.

The rest of the house project is moving along - paving tomorrow and painting!

That is an awful lot of stuff stolen.. I’m guessing you’re not living on site? That would have taken some time to load out by a couple of junkies.. hopefully your local police have a line on various pawn and re-seller locations—not to mention Craigslist.. next investment should be a security system-or vicious dog in the barn..

By the way-incredible garage—but man that was $$$$$[emoji43]

Yep - not living there yet...but its a one way in, one way out with 5 other nice houses on the street. Has to be an inside job IMO.

I've got some more pics to post, we've made a lot of progress on the house... paving, painting, sheetrock complete and priming inside now, cabinets are sitting in the shop, 19' swim spa was set in place, its finally all coming together.
