Drawers hanging on rack, this thing is handy.

Primered up!

I pulled all the tracks that the drawer frame rides on and wire brushed, there was a lot of rust and gunk and you could feel t in the drawers.
bd9720ac4677ed64dc37acbc3b74b7e7.jpg
I sprayed Superlube dry lube on tracks to keep rust at bay. I'm in the process of cleaning the bearings and lubing.
There was a lot of gunk on the OD of bearings, making for a rough operation. Should be a lot smoother now.

I need to work n gun adjustments, may redo this one later. It's going back together and put into use today.
The rust oleum paint lives up to its claim, it's a fast dry and I think it was dry before I cleaned gun out.
I'll post up the can later.

Here's the paint I used. So far, I really like it.

I'm using Superlube #1 weight grease, just putting in enough to wet balls. I modified a syringe to inject where I need it, working pretty good.

LOL, I can’t disagree with you there. Well with the success Craig’s having with the paint and primer you MIGHT see me painting. Heavy emphasis on the might. LOL.

Here's the finished product.
ca84d0da208b398e588a2bca7a7cb7cc.jpg
Here's the before pic.
03f5baa1cf21a467476d59d6a92aacea.jpg
This box took a fair amount of tweaking to get it operating smooth. There was gunk built up on the drawer slides and the outside of the bearing where the drawer rolls on. This made for rough slinging of the drawer action.
638e0df34a7462af7e0634f691781f20.jpg
A little scraping and solvent wipe down had them running smooth again.
f748b09bb64c1af0b46cdff8566034cf.jpg
This is the mechanism that allows only one drawer to open at a time.
6a27ceefa3f32c81761aedc0909eb336.jpg
When the drawers are in the closed position, there's a finger that hooks through a loop on the drawer, keeping it closed. Messed with this for 30 mins as it was hitting the slide frame and not allowing the drawer to close all the way, all it took was a couple smacks with a rawhide hammer to adjust the frame.

I'll probably end up in jail for taking this decal off.
e7bef69cfa9f1d0fb99de6c528ed8608.jpg

I also left the drawer catches off and it kind of pain to try to flip the catch and open the 60" at the same time. I'm not going to be moving this around and don't see where it matters.

It's only going to move to the left some, once I get the others done. Once he moves one of these, he'll think twice about wanting to move:lol_hitti

Hey Craig. The Vidmar looks awesome:thumbup:

I'll see if I can find a little more time for the GJ in the next few months.

Good to hear from you Dan, thanks for stopping by.

Appriciate all the comments guys, it's been a while in the making.

Here's the next one in progress.
752534ff4015ff0be45b3f175fe8c7f7.jpg

The yellow paint was put on good, just too heavy in spots, lots of runs to sand out. There's a pretty good ding in one of the drawer fronts I need to knock out. I'm trying to avoid any filler if I can.

Been working on getting the 69 Lincoln Mark III parts from my Dads estate sorted so I can get it sold.
Here's a shot of the hub caps.

These cars must of weighed a couple tons based on the weight and solidness of the parts.

I have a rolling craftsman chest that was PAINTED BY TAUMAC IN grey red color scheme.
Yes, hard to believe but he did paint at least one.

No way, can you prove it?

Wait, I bet you can. Was it painted with no prep, right over labels, debris, spider webs, etc?

Nope Craptain, he got at least two done. I've got one he actually painted also. Well on second thought, maybe he wasn't the one that painted it. But I have one that came fom him that was painted. Craig? Shorty? You guys can probably answer that for me.

Cool old radio Craig.

The real funny thing is I gave Gerard two cans of Rustoleum spray paint that I purged from my shop, I was worried about them getting old and not being any good before I used them up.:lol_hitti

We met up at Taumacs on Sat. Beer flowed along with the BS stories.
We always end up at Hooters for lunch, more beer and good views. While the others were busy having our Hooters girl take our picture, I preferred to have a picture of her.

I traded a truck tool box with Shorty for some stainless pipe. It'll sit in my shop now instead of his.:lol_hitti

You guys are too funny.

I thought about starting the saw in the bathroom, but Gs wife would of killed him for bringing such heathens home for friends.

What's the plan for the pipe Craig? I doubt you just want to store it in your shop.

I have a couple ideas, one a free standing hose rack by the house, I'm going to be building a new grill, may use some the pipe for that.

A addition to the shop, just recently come across this type of vice A Emmert patternmakers vise .After watching a couple YouTube on it it was just one of those vises I had to have.
6e8d1586f12144dbd641cfddbd9ea9bc.jpg
This thing is huge, weighs about 80 pounds, look at that tiny milk crate in the background

There are actually three of them local to me one right in my town in an antique shop, one on the craigslist ad looking for eBay prices, and this one that I found on Facebook marketplace. This style is the latest style and most up-to-date, and I like the looks of it more so than the others. I believe it is 1940s vintage.
I paid a premium for as far as vises go but there’s not many of them around did a pretty good search before purchased.

This will be going on the maple top bench that's in the planning stages, right after I get most of the Vidmars painted.:D:D

Craig, those are great vises. My dad has one on one of his benches. I have not used all the functionality very often but when you needed it....it was a lifesaver!

Those Lista boxes are way over built. I bought one for work that had a huge rusty hole in the back. It was the perfect configuration so I bought it anyways. I ground the paint and rust off and the hole got even bigger.
I ended up cutting the cancer out with a cutoff wheel and making a patch panel. I welded it up like you would a car and got factory paint and it looks almost perfect.
