Just awesome! Would you post a video of it running?
Any idea what it weighs?

That this is unbelievably cool! What do you have driving the belt? A waterwheel to the stream outside your shop? ;-)her is the latest addition to the shop, good ole 20 inch royersford
Very nice looking drill. Mines a little dirtier and green, but drills perfect almost everyday.her is the latest addition to the shop, good ole 20 inch royersford
If you're referring to the Royersford, it does weigh about 800 lbs or 1050 lbs depending on lineshaft or motor drive. Mine's a motor drive one and here's the link to mine running in my basement.Just awesome! Would you post a video of it running?

Oh the shame. It sure looks as if you are drilling right through into the table. If you're referring to the Royersford, it does weigh about 800 lbs or 1050 lbs depending on lineshaft or motor drive. Mine's a motor drive one and here's the link to mine running in my basement.

Nope, there is already a big bored hole in that table right there. Happened before I got it. That was my first run off it.Oh the shame. It sure looks as if you are drilling right through into the table.
Seriously nice machine though.

Nice!Picked this up this morning. Its a 1942 103.0303 "old"DP with a 1/3 hp Dunlap motor. It came with a Long C milling vise.![]()

Just finishing this up.
Parts from two Atlas/Craftsman, and WT base and pole.
And a Delta light.

It's probably also missing the spring retractor and related parts, & spindle bearings...
Spring is there, bearings are on the spindle. Looks like someone just took the spindle out for some reason.
It is missing the quill lock but I can make one of those.

I love the retirement light too.Love those Delta lights!
Any good source for set ups like that other than retrofiting cheap ones from target? Picked up a parts drill press yesterday with a gooseneck and socket but no shade to it.
Yeah their pretty cool looking, But I like their resale value even more!Love those Delta lights!
Had to post this after seeing the thread. This is my cool old drill press which I picked up this past October. It was born in '46 and was sold out of my hometown Fort Worth, Texas. My fourth Delta OWWM from the '40s.Gawd I love OWWM. And now you guys here at GJ have gotten me on the slippery slope of vintage tools and toolboxes! I'm loving it!

What are those pieces for/ called that are on the table of the press?
Might want to research those over on OWWM, seems bearings and part interchangeability can be a little sketchy on them, as I remember. My latest project is a couple of 20" Walker Turners that I picked up from C/L.
Their in pretty poor condition, But I got them both for $75, Should be able to make one complete drill press from the two!
There's a damaged area on the one head & a mounting lug broke off of the guard. Thankfully the broken pieces are included, So brazing or welding is an option. One of the tables has a broken corner with/out the missing pieces, So that repair may be a little trickier?

Thanks for the heads-up on the bearings!Might want to research those over on OWWM, seems bearings and part interchangeability can be a little sketchy on them
I have a 1947 Delta dp220 floor model drill press that is on my list of restorations. I'd like to keep it as close to original as practical. The pulley cover needs replacing, and I'm hoping someone can tell me if the red Delta Milwaukee emblem with the black triangle is the correct one for that year? Does anyone know where to buy just the emblem? (there are a couple pulley covers without an emblem I'm looking at) Also does anyone know if this year and model had the belt cover? The main "not original" feature I'd like to consider is a rack and pinion for the table, would this be simple to add? Thanks!
Yeah I'm pretty sure they were still used in the early 50's, So I would guess it is correct for your drill press.I'm hoping someone can tell me if the red Delta Milwaukee emblem with the black triangle is the correct one for that year?

They made table lift assemblies for the production table DP-220 models, But they are hard to come by!Not sure I've ever seen a DP 220 table raiser.
