The ebay gift card deal just popped up and I'm not even going to bother. I suppose I could use them at hometown for some of the few remaining c3 tools.
I assume you're interested in C3 at this point only because you've already bought other tools in that system.

The ones Sears still sells would be well above the threshold to get free shipping from sears.com for any your Hometown store doesn't have that you still want, FWIW.
http://www.sears.com/search=craftsm...true&searsTab=true&storeId=10153&levels=Tools

Ace Hardware also still sells the drills, batteries, and a reciprocating saw that Sears itself no longer sells: http://www.acehardware.com/search/i...gkw=c3&sr=1&f=PAD/Brands/CRAFTSMAN&lmdn=Brand

Hometown has some great stuff but you have to go look for it. Currently looking for a 3/8 impact but no luck yet.

New item for the holidays this year, full price is $9.99, I picked one up a few weeks back at $5.99, and it's now at a new low price of $2.99 online (in-store pickup only):
Craftsman Magnetic Finger Glove
prod_18729965012

Could come in handy, and it's stocking-stuffer-size.

I'm not too impressed with this deal itself, a cheap set of small screwdrivers regularly $6.99 on sale for $4.99, but I thought it was interesting to see a red "Beats Amazon Price" banner on its page that I haven't seen Sears use before:
Stanley 66-052 6-Piece Precision Screwdriver Set

I've seen it a few times, but usually goes away when Amazon beats them I think

I felt a little embarrassed picking that dinky thing up. LOL

Yeah, electronics department got gradually scaled down to just a display rack of phone accessories at almost all Sears stores earlier this year, and the floor space taken up by mattresses and appliances.
(

Must be a regional or local thing, still have a full electronics department in my local stores.

These are Craftsman Professional which I think are better than the regular bar. I have the 10 and 31in otw to local Sears :rocker:

10 inch $7:
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-prof...sellerId=SEARS&prdNo=4&blockNo=4&blockType=G4

31 inch $17:
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-prof...lerId=SEARS&prdNo=35&blockNo=35&blockType=G35

Set of 3 (12,17,25in) $35
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-prof...lerId=SEARS&prdNo=42&blockNo=42&blockType=G42

The set of 3 was $32 just a couple weeks ago, but still a pretty good discount from full price.

The Craftsman DBE XL Ratcheting Wrench Sets in SAE & Metric fell another $10 to $69.99:

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-8pc-max-axess-wl-ratcheting-wrench-set/p-00910915000P

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-8pc-max-axess-wl-ratcheting-wrench-set/p-00910924000P

Not as cheap as they were back in March at $49.99... but might be worth keeping an eye on in case they continue to fall in price. I had picked up the metric set back then... very happy with them... so might get the SAE set if they drop a bit more.

They are a Hot Buy... so coupons are probably out... but Freecash/Surprise Points should work.

Nah, I think yours is just one of the handful they randomly left intact. The electronics dept has been removed from the vast majority of Sears stores nationwide, and replaced with more mattresses and appliances. It's been discussed on the employee forum (thelayoff.com) quite a few times this year. There was even a thread on Thanksgiving weekend from someone complaining about having to turn customers away because their Sears no longer had any TVs, and that was all they'd come looking to buy.

woodtuner9 lives in quite an interesting region. A new full-line Sears store is being built in that area, but the exact address is a secret. :headscrat

Wow, I can't believe the 10 in was back in stock. It's been so long since I've seen them available online and it's the only one that I don't have. Unfortunately, it's not available in my area. :dunno:

Even their regular bars are heavily discounted and very, very good. I had the old version and beat the hell of them. Recently left them with my brother since he needed some, and picked up the new ones for $20 for the set of 3. Then another $19 I think for the 36" bar.

I've been thinking about buying another set of the professional pry bars at that price, but I already have one set of those and 2 each of the other sets of pry bars. How many pry bars do I actually need. OK not the right place to ask that question.

Agree the regular bars are very good. I have the set of 3, but for some reason, I can not buy the longer ones (31 or 36in) and do local pick-up. These professional bars were also not available for me, until very recently. They must have change something.

Hopefully this helps some folks in the same situation

Just check you local store. My local had none of the 36" listed in stock, but they actually had two on hand when I was there. They price matched for me, honoring the online price. I've bought a few things there like that. I just browse the store then check the price online while I'm still in store. I scored a 100' 12/3 gauge extension cord for $36. Price in store was still over $80 I think.

Also, I can't imagine a garage without some good pry bars. I've used them so often I can't believe I went as long as I did with just using my biggest flat-head screwdriver on everything! :withstupi

My local store is one of those small hometown store. I been there often to pick up stuffs, as recently as last week, and they do not have large pry bars in stock. They do have the regular 3 piece set.

Appreciate the tip for extension cord. I am going on a trip over weekend, and going to try to make a quick 30 min stop at one of the "real" Sears along the way. I do need a 100" cord

Can anyone log into sears website now? I have not been able to get past half of the home
Page. Nothing when I attempt to search for products

I've always had problem with logging directly into Sears. Log in on Shop Your Way, then open another tab/window for Sears and you should be set. If you are getting the captcha all the time, use an incognito or private browsing session, and that seems to take care of that problem.

It wasn’t working in either site but now it’s up. Maybe it’s reached maximum use 5 days before Xmas as people search the system frantically.

I think it was just last night that someone reported having problems with the sears.com checkout function for a couple hours, too. IDK if these malfunctions are actually due to a last-minute surge of customers or just random incompetence. :dunno:

yeah, the pro bars looked no better than the regular strike head bars. I went ahead and picked up the three pack of the regular strike head and added the 31 inch strike head and it all came out to just over $30 shipped if I recall. Good deal...like I needed a second set of pry bars! HA!

FYI Ace has the Craftsman 25ft Touch Lock Tape Measure (00945071) on sale for $2.99. Picked mine up earlier and it's pretty nice for $3.

Nice, a 'secret' extra Craftsman item on top of the ones I had already seen are on sale for $2.99 through Dec 24: http://www.acehardware.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=135813256 plus a couple screwdriver sets http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=35551926 and http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=10973960

That’s my favorite tape measure. Surprised that Ace sells it and Sears doesn’t. I’ll try to pick up a 25’ and. 12’ today. Thanks for the tip!

I don't recall the 12' ever going on sale at Ace. Only the 25' drops down to $2.99 once in a while.

If you got $5 freecash, you may want to get the 16' Sidewinder at Sears:

Craftsman 16-Foot Sidewinder Tape Measure $7.49

That's funny I got the 16' sidewinder yesterday as well. ***** though because they raise the price to $9.99 if you opt to pick up in store. So I save them $6 in shipping cost and I am rewarded with a higher price.

25% off coupon on the ace homepage.

Just left Ace. No tapes [EDIT: even though online said there was inventory], but decided I’d pick up a pack of picks for 10 bucks less the 25% - until they wouldn’t accept the coupon on the phone. I’d have to print it out. Forget it - not worth my time. That was my final trip to an Ace.

I don't know why these companies can't get with the times. Ace closes early, has a terrible in store pickup program and their prices aren't that great. Yet they stick around and actually are usually fairly busy. It took 2 employees and almost 10 min to pick up my tape.

So glad I read this. Getting two 12' tapes and was going to have them shipped to the store. Not anymore. I'll pay the $9 to have it shipped to the house. The trip to the store is a pain because of the hours and I don't need the aggravation. Well worth the $9 to just get it at home. Too bad I can't get the 25' tape. It's only in-store pick-up and the closest store that supposedly has it is 13 miles away.

I guess people go there because they want the feeling of going into the hardware store of 40 years ago. I have to drive past a Home Depot just to get to a store with lousy hours, limited selection, and higher prices.

Craftsman Max Axess wrench in METRIC - these are supposed to be pretty good, made in China wrenches. Got to buy these piece by piece but the discount is pretty great imho.

http://www.sears.com/search=max axe...sTab=true&storeId=10153&levels=Tools_Wrenches

I believe you can get the SAE from Sears Outlet - there was a discussion about this maybe a month or two ago, but the metric set is not available anymore.

Sorry for not posting the link to each wrench. Sears already banned me for doing too many searches, thinking I am a robot.
