Picked up the file set. I bought it last time it was $20 but never picked it up from the store.

Picked up the Butterfly Impact driver - not available for shipping unfortunately so I have to figure out how to get it from the store. Asheville, NC had 1 more available (according to the internet machine) if anyone is interested...

Item 19980, normally $60, currently $20.09

Using my app so I don't have the link, but the item number will find it.

I have the Craftsman Butterfly Impact, and also attached a Flexzilla Swivel Whip Hose (also from Sears). Also got a set of 3/8" Craftsman Industrial Impacts. Got them all about 2 years ago for just about free with shopyourway points.

That butterfly impact with a flexzilla swivel whip hose can go just about anywhere and do just about anything under the hood. Fills the gap between using a hand ratchet and a big impact gun.

Very nice build quality on that butterfly, not sure who the OE maker is, but seems to be a good one.

Doesn't Florida Pneumatic make most of them?

Hi EdJack,

I found the Craftsman Butterfly Impact tool in my area.

However, is this the Flexzilla Swivel Whip Hose you bought from Sears: Flexzilla?

If not, can you please provide me to a link to the Flexzilla hose?

Thanks,

Dave

Craftsman Metric Flare Nut Crowfoot set down to 29.30. Inch set on sale too, but not nearly as good of a deal (66-ish?).

Yes, Sears used to sell these. I have three of them. There actually is still one hanging on the shelf at my local Sears, but don't see them online anymore. So your local store might have some leftovers of them hanging where the air tools are. They are great. They really add mobility to air tools, and the swivel doesn't leak at all. I've been adding them to all my air tools as free points have allowed.

They are like these on Amazon. Great to add this to the Butterfly Impact. I have rubber air hoses that are heavy and clumsy to move around. The Flexzillia is very light and mobile to add between the heavy rubber hose and the air tool.

Hmm, just saw someone mention elsewhere that they got a $6 bounceback coupons at a Kmart today (a Thursday). Possible indication of Sears doing those again this weekend too? Anyone who makes an in-store purchase at a full-size corporate Sears store (i.e. not a Hometown store) in the next few days, please report back. :)

Bought a few things today, around $90 out of pocket.

Got a random $10 off via a coupon attached to my shop your way (didn't even know)

Got another $10 in "freecash" that's valid in a week or so

Cool, thanks for the confirmation! That's the bounceback coupon, they delay when you can use them so that you have to come back to the store later. :)

except you can also use it online too

For the ones received at Sears, for now. Kmart started making theirs only usable in-store, a couple months ago. I think the ones given out at either store are unlikely to get used online even when they can be, since although we deal-hunters do a lot of online ordering, the overall percentage of Sears and Kmart sales made online is something miniscule like 5%.

It wouldn't surprise me, Sears is pushing the President's Day Sale through the end of the month so I'm sure we will see little promos to go with it.

How does your Sears Lawn & Garden department look like?

Sears stores usually get ready for an upcoming season very early, but the nearest two full-line stores haven't been restocking that section.

Well, they did finally restock the Craftsman rubber garden hoses, but you all are not going to like the new COO...

the mall store near me is chaotic - they are downsizing from two floors to just one. doesn't look like tool dept is a priority.

The tool departments have been cut down to about half their size, and the empty half filled in with large fitness equipment.

The L&G departments remain the same size, but the emptiness on the hooks and shelves has become more noticeable.

We should be posting L&G deals by now.

Haha, are you kidding me? They took one of the few last good MIUSA items with a cult following and offshored it to the third world? LOL, the ineptitude of these guys is just staggering.

They did that here as well (Fair Oaks Mall, Fairfax, VA). The Sears store had two floors and the tools & outdoor/garden departments were nearly half a floor. Now Sears is one floor and both departments are pushed back into a corner and occupy less than 1/4 of a floor.

I went to return an acetate clear handle Craftsman screwdriver today that has a broken tip. My local Sears has absolutely ZERO open stock screwdrivers. They said they don't know when they are getting any in, and they can't order any. So I walked out with my broken screwdriver. How can a Sears tool department not have screwdrivers? Things must really be getting bad.

I was worried about taking in my USA screwdriver and getting a China screwdriver. But heck, at this point I'll take a China screwdriver over a broken USA screwdriver. The open stock isle is bare, except for a few combination wrenches. Basically no screwdrivers and no sockets.

My Hometown never had a huge selection of open screwdrivers but the ones there are still USA as well as a few small multi-packs. The newer stuff is China though. He usually has a pretty complete selection of individual sockets & ratchets.

I was surprised my Hometown store got in a bunch of C3 bundles and a few individual tools. The Lawn & Garden area is getting stocked up too with the usual mowers & weed eaters and such.

I can't really say overall they are getting less stuff, most of his sales are the Appliances and L&G... The tool section has been about the same, just different stuff as things slowly get sold.

I bought a 100' last time they were crazy cheap. I know my HT store still has some of the old USA ones so next time the 50' are on sale I might grab one of those.

I don't think there is any uniform policy with ACE because of the whole franchise thing. At least I couldn't find one.

Looking at old garagejournal topics, many stores have said no. Some stores said that as long as they have it in-stock, they would replace it. Some stores have said that it must have been purchased at ACE.

^^^ Basically that, it's hit or miss... Best thing is just to be super nice and worst thing they can say is 'no'...

A regular sears should be able to order the screwdriver replacement for you and have shipped to your home at no charge.

Check Ace. Lots have USA screwdrivers still and will do the swap.

Sears around me have started down sizing too. Was a large store up until 2015 then split into two stores. One sears and one a grocery store. I think sears corporate is selling it’s retail space to make up for losses.
