I love how easy these are to put up. mount the brackets hang it, level it and screw it to the wall.. My main goal is as much off the floor as possible, I have no idea how I pulled this off but it lines up pretty good with the other cabinets and meets the not on the floor rule

I don't know how I missed this thread but I will definitely endorse not only New Age cabinets but also John as a vendor. My cabinets were displayed in post # 11. After having these cabinets in service for several months now I can testify to their build quality and features.

A friend came by the shop last night and was commenting on the cabinets and he about freaked when he noticed they had the soft close feature.:D

I can also give my testimonial that John is great to deal with. Quick service and very reasonably priced.

Need longer stainless steel countertops?

You can choose between 32 inch, 56 inch, 64 inch, 84 inch, 88 inch and 96 inch lengths in the Outdoor Kitchen line from NewAge. Same 24 inch width and 1-1/4 inch thickness as the countertops that come with the Pro and Performance Plus lines of garage cabinets.

Seriously considering these cabinets. They look great. Can anyone point me to a comparison of NewAge with Saber? Thanks

+1. I've been considering Saber for the shop and garage, probably 22 cabinets and four bench tops total, but if prices are comparable I'd rather not have to assemble them. I know the NewAge cabs are 18 gauge vs 19 gauge for the Sabers.

You might check out Saber's website for more information. Saber has it's cabinets manufactured in China just like NewAge. Their base cabinets are welded and ready to install, the locker cabinets and upper wall cabinets need to be assembled.

I've done RTA (ready to assemble) cabinets before and never again! Pain in the ****. Really like my new age 3.0 set.

I wish I could see the brands in person. Any input on the differences between the drawers and drawer slides? For instance, where would these two brands fall in comparison with the HF US General toolbox (that we’ve all seen and had accesss too).

I have newage and shopped saber... Both should be notable better than hf .

Shopping the two, I liked the sabers cleaner look. At the end of the day it came down to price. Saber will easily be 25% more due to shipping costs. And then you will need to assemble some of their cabinets... Not worth it imho

I ended up buying some garage works from home depot. They are cheap and crappy in a lot of ways. I couldn't do Saber. I just wanted base and uppers with no cabinets and it made the shipping way too expensive. For the price I could have had more cabinets - a lot more from New Age. After my hurricane dropped the tree on my building I decided I want everything on wheels for when I get out of dodge.

Here's a review from one of my customers.

"Hi John,

I've been making progress! It's taken a bit longer as I am installing the cabinets on the wall and I have a Steel Linet Panel. Plus, this is a pole building though I do have both vertical and horizontal studs as I changed my mind from drywall and ended up with the steel hence the reason for horizontal studs across the 6x6 posts.

I ended up using 1x2 furring strips in between the ribs. I think I used almost 100 1x2's so that took the majority of my time. Plus my assistant, my daughter, is only 6 so we did this together!

I wanted the tops to be about 42" but due to the placement of the horizontal stud and the French cleat I am at 45". at 5'10" its a bit high but I know it will be sturdy for sure. Each of the tall cabinets is held in by the French cleat as well as lagged into 3 of the horizontal studs which are 2' OC. probably a bit of overkill though I know for sure if I put a 1,000 pounds in the cabinets they are not going anywhere!

The last part of the installation is going to be ProSlat between the upper and lower cabinets. I need to find some additional J Channel and H Channel to finalize the installation.

I did the entire installation by myself. I used a 2 wheel dolly to move the tall cabinets in place and slid them on a 6X6. From there I used a motorcycle/atv lift to raise the cabinets above the French cleat. Then I put 2 more 6X6's under the cabinet for safety purposes and lowered onto the cleat. The lower cabinets I removed the drawers and but both arms inside the cabinets and lifted onto the cleats. Wasn't bad though the bruisers are still healing! lol!!

Sorry, I probably will not put onto Garage Journal as I don't want to hear from the naysayers! I'm not a carpenter so I have no clue if I installed them correctly though everything was level and lined up via the bolts holes! Nothing a tape measure, level, T-square and string line couldn't handle!

I appreciate the service I received from you!"

Hi I'm new here, do you deliver to the UK?

Also I'm very interested in the 8 piece Pro Series but it's about 5 inches too long, is there an option to have a slightly narrower locker, say 30 inches wide in stead of 36 inches.

Thanks
Ian

Those Pro 3.0 version cabinets that I saw at Costco is very sturdy. I want one of the tall cabinet to compliment my Vidmar and Lista tool cabinets. If anybody in Houston want to sell one, please let me know. To buy a single cabinet is astronomical.

I know what you are saying. But after I put up my small cabinets and really liked how nice they are I knew i would buy more.
I will say this when i looked at the big cabinet specs it did not seem big. when it showed up oh wow was i shocked at how big it was. Yep it was a bit pricey buy its self :willy_nil and I did some research and John on here Had the best price.

I'm sure i will be dealing with him again

I want to give a review on NewAge customer service. 1 of my shelves for my new locker had a flaw ( there was writing showing thru the powder coat) that really was not a big deal. I sent John a photo and he suggested i contact NweAge, so i did. It was very easy sent them the same photo and even mentioned it was not a big deal. All they ask for was was the production code from the inside. 3 days later 2 new shelves showed up via ups.
IMO thats damm good service

Do NewAge cabinet have small enough gaps to prevent mice from getting inside? Assuming doors and drawers are closed of course :)

That's one I haven't heard before. What if you just got rid of the mice? :dunno:

I don't think you'd be mouse proof. You can see that the bottom and top both have a lip, looks like would be pretty tight fit on the doors. The bottom of the cabinets have a hole for cables to pass through and the sides have slots for bolting the cabinets together and to the wall.

Looks like the doors also have flange that one door closes onto. You can see it better in the video on my site. Scroll down the page a little to see the video.

Does that mean you have to open the right side door before you can open the left door? I do not know. :dunno:

My tall cabinet came with a 2" hole in the bottom for running cords. Easy to block off, but there is no way a mouse or rat could get in these

Getting rid of the mice is easy, the trick is catching them before they do damage. Plugging a few exposed holes and slots is easy. Thanks for the info and analysis!

Didn't notice Thurston County, WA location. You must live a wooded area. I'm from Vancouver pretty residential around here. We get possum, raccoon and the occasional coyote.

Worked a while around Black Lake for BPA.

I lived in Vancouver and in Banks, OR before moving up here. Very wooded area. Lots of deer and varmints, and the occasional elk. Beautiful and wet part of the country.

We just got back from Utah visiting my son. We flew this time. Usually we drive and make it a two or three day trip both ways.

We've been up here for 25 years. I haven't seen all of the Northwest, but after 5 or 6 trips to Utah, we've seen most all the roads in Eastern Oregon. Plus I've worked in North Powder, Burns and Soap Lake. By the way there's no lake in Soap Lake.

Got most of ithe garage put back together, what a pain sorting through all the ****.

I haven't had this much useable counter in years.

Got all the hardware bins kind of sorted out, still some work to do.

The cabinets have a 2"space between the door back and the shelving fronts, Perfect place for the small Milwaukee stuff.

I took the old craftsman bottom box that I was going to sell and moved the drill press to that, put a small vice on it and will mount my swag off-road bandsaw table on it where the winch is.

This is from THE BARAGE thread.

These are Bold cabinets from Doc1976. They look great integrated within his garage.

Notice the height of the Bold locker cabinets in comparison with the Craftsman tool box. Lots of customers are asking what NewAge looks like with existing garage storage.

Hope this helps.

Do you have dimensions for the sink base cabinet?

Also, as a suggestion, they really need to put a sprayer on those in addition to the faucet. That would be my emergency eye wash station!
