I had a miter saw stand in my cart and was debating on buying it. It went from being somewhere in the 60 dollar range back to the regular $99. I stopped in store and it was on sale for $89. An employee asked me if I was interested, and I told him that I will wait until it goes back down in price. When he asked how much it was online, I couldn't remember, just in the $60's. Employee says I can have it for $65. He was not a manager, and did not need approval to change the price at the register.

I clicked on the "email receipt" but did not receive an email. I also did this the last time I made an in-store purchase at Sears, hoping to get a coupon, but did not receive an email either time. I'm wondering if the employee is clicking past that screen as I'm ticking the box for an emailed receipt.

More than likely just the Sears system is screwed up... I've had issues receiving emails too from them before... I think it finally resolved itself after a week or so.

Sears will price-match, not only their own website but other stores. I'm sure the employee just wanted to make a sale (commission?), not a big issue for them to price-match it.

I just ordered the Craftsman (SPG International Tech Series) 42in Roller Cabinet.

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-42-i...erId=Sears&prdNo=10&blockNo=10&blockType=G10#

Original $799 MSRP
On Sale for $559.99
Live Chat person gave me $35 off coupon (I swear, being nice to people on the other side of the monitor helps!)
Plus $55.25 Cashback in points

All in, $501.24 for a 42in Cabinet *Made in Canada*. Just gotta pick it up in store.

Clicked on the link to check out the cabinet and now it is below $500 without coupons($487). I wish I wasn't broke I could use a newer tool box.

I would recommend for mattgold to chat with online CS and get a pricematch and credit for that difference! $72 back for 5 minutes of effort... Probably best to just get it back in points, they can be flaky trying to do a CC credit.

I got the impression they're pretty much interchangeable regardless of brand, but the advantage of the Craftsman ones is having free money (SYW points) to throw at them, which you can't use on Amazon. ;)

What @Hexen said. I only paid $2. Amazon might be cheaper if you are not using points.

You want to select 'print + e-receipt," not just e-receipt, otherwise no coupons will print, though you should definitely get a copy sent to your email. Does the transaction show up for your in-store purchases on your Sears.com or SYW account?

Yeah, I bought the 2pc locking pliers set in-store this afternoon with an online price match, in the hope of getting another good coupon/offer to replace the $10 off $10 I was using, but no such luck. Just low-value stuff like 'upgrading' got. At least I still have an $8 off $8 left to use next week.

I also picked up my red rafter square that arrived yesterday, and confirmed that they now have 6-8 more of them in stock on the shelf too. First time they've been seen in 5 months!

Are these made in China?
They are made in China, but honestly it's so nice I don't even care. The machining and printing is much nicer and sharper than my Swanson squares. This is my new go to square. I am by no means a speed square expert though.

You are lucky, those 84T ratchets I thought disappeared from the website, they must have found some more. The regular 84T set says unavailable...

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-3-pc-thin-profile-ratchet-set/p-00944992000P

The set you linked is active but no shipping and no stores within 100 miles for me... :(

I looked up my old purchase for them, base price was $42.99 before points (Purchased Jul 10, 2017... probably some 4th of July sale).

Probably better you grabbed them at that price though, with points and stuff that's a very reasonable price and likely those ratchets will disappear again pretty quick.

There's a member in the "Wanted" section looking for a set of those 84T ratchets, he had his set walk off... :(

I already had a 3/8" 84t as well as a full set of 75T, I would be more than happy to order the 6 piece 84T set for the $63.91 price and ship it to any member once they come in. My store still had several 3 piece 84T sets on the rack, when they went to look it up on their computer it didn't even register on the sears.com site, so idk if it was NOS or what. But the feel of the 84T gears.....:D

That's an awesome offer The Great. I'd like to take you up on that offer. I looked them up as well and they aren't within 100 miles nor available to online order.

I have the 3/8 84T ratchet, but mine is made in China/Taiwan? (definitely not US).

It is kinda heavy but feels great in my hand. I really like the shape of the handle. I like it so much I never use it lol. It is the only one that just sit on my desk in my office. I just use it to hear the click click click..

That is a good price for the set.

Reading the Q&A on the CMan site, it says made in China... But it would be nice for Hexen to verify with what he got...

HomeDepot sells the Empire square in both 7" & 12" high-viz in blue, and it's Made in USA...

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Empire-7-in-Laser-Etched-Rafter-Square-e2994/205317688

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Empire-12-in-Magnum-Rafter-Square-E3992/301387969

Yes, mine is from China too. I'm pretty sure they were from China last fall too, before they went out of stock for months. Except for a small scuff on one corner, presumably from banging around in a box with no packing material, the one I received looks great to me. (I'm one of those nitpicky people that when I buy something like this in-store, I compare all the ones in stock to pick the nicest-looking one; most of you probably wouldn't notice, and I don't think it's worth bothering the employees to exchange just for that. If I'd known they were finally going to make it back into the stores, and in such quantity now, I would've waited. But you never know with Sears!)

Like mrspeed said, these red rafter squares are definitely in the upper tier of Chinese production quality. I wanted one of these because it has more notches/markings than the equivalent Empire product, but I do like blue, so I might eventually get an Empire one too (hopefully 12in, to be more justifiable :p ).

Yes, the 84T were always made in Taiwan. I thought they were cool too and very nice. So nice I knew I would never use them so I passed them along to someone else. I've got plenty others to keep my company... hehe...

I do that too!!! I have zero issues about laying out stuff in the isle at the store and looking over and testing each one... lol. With the non-existant QC these days you pretty much have to, if you grab the first one off the shelf odds are you are going to be making another trip back to exchange it...

There were only 2 options available for receipt, one just for a printed receipt, and the other for email and printed. The purchases are listed on Sears and SYW, and I did earn the points. I checked spam... no emailed receipts from 3 different in-store purchases from 2 different locations.

Are you receiving ANY type of emails from Sears, Kmart, or SYW?

I think the two options I get in-store are:

1) Print and eReceipt
2) Only eReceipt (still prints a tiny receipt with barcode)

I try to make sure to choose whichever says "Print", so the register will also spit out some coupons and/or surprise points. Whether those offers are actually worthwhile is another matter.

I think if your email is Yahoo.com, you will not receive any emails from Sears. It just got filtered out somehow by Yahoo. I believe I saw this somewhere a while back - not sure if this is still an issue now. I changed mine to gmail.

Some have no trouble with Yahoo email, some do. There's mixed reports for ALL email providers, even Gmail.

It seems to depend on whether one or more emails from an email address were flagged as spam by the provider, and then subsequent emails from that address are not allowed through.

Just stopped by the Sears in Wilmington that is closing. Signs all over the building about store closing sale, but everything is marked back up to retail prices with a measly 10% off on everything. I will have to stick to ordering online.

They are smart. Tons of shoppers buying up stuff at prices higher than last week.

This is a good set despite the origin. It's a much better deal than buying the equivalent combination of smaller-number-of-pieces socket accessory sets.

I bought it a couple weeks ago for $29.99 (regular price is $59.99). $5 difference, sounds like it's time for another attempt at getting an in-store-purchase price adjustment out of the online chat people!

The one I got was the last one in stock between both of my local stores, and they still have not restocked this set yet, so it may be getting kinda scarce, get it while you can if you want it. :)

Knipex 7 1/4" end cutters are on sale for $21.69, same price as on Amazon. Amazon recently had the next size up on sale for the lowest it's ever been at $20.62, but that didn't last long. This is still a good price for these, especially if you have some points to burn.

Also, the 48pc impact socket case is back on sale for $99.99, half off. I don't think it's been that low since last November.

imo when combined with SYW points, freecash, etc, Sears is the cheapest place to buy knipex. I bought all mine (around 10 of them) from Sears.

The peg fences (for workbenches with 3/4" holes) are on sale for about half off. Both sizes can be ordered for ship-to-home. The smaller one is also in stock at my local store for pickup, but the larger one comes up at a store like 50 miles away for me and won't let it be ordered for ship-to-store elsewhere.

This product is NOT on sale, but I was amazed to see that it is supposedly back in stock at both of my local stores. It's been MIA for years and unavailable for shipping... it's still unavailable for shipping, but that may change if it's reappearing in stores. It was a USA-made product, but I wouldn't be surprised if its return is because it's now being made in China. (I haven't checked it out locally yet to confirm.)

Its USA incarnation had excellent reviews, and there aren't very many similar tools on the market (one reviewer mentioned Snap-On has a version but they like the Craftsman version better). (Edit: Here's the Williams version which Snap-On rebrands... it and others I've seen are all 'closed loop' in the chisel-holding area, rather than the Craftsman version's reportedly more convenient 'open loop'. The Craftsman version is also a much lower price.)

Thanks for the link to the other photos (and thanks #ToolGuyd). I couldn't figure out how it was supposed to be used. Definitely going on the list of wanted items, might sort of actually be needed too. It is available for pickup for me at my usual Hometown store, but not at the corporate Sears close to me.

If your Hometown has some, they're more likely to be leftover NOS USA, too.

I picked up one about a year ago when I had some points to burn. Only used it a couple of times but it was handy.

I must have juuuust missed the last shippable period for the chisel holder... I found out about it from related product suggestions last July when I bought a small punch set, and it was unable to be ordered at that point.

Someone posted a new review today (or Sears approved it today), and indicates a new design:

"...........
By the way, if you ever do find this tool again at a Sears store, it looks different now, as the handle grip is the same, but the chisel/punch holder is now circular and black. It is made in China now, as the Made in USA marking is gone. Sears just private labels someone else's tool now and puts a Craftsman's handle on it."
